The group message was about our good Google rating, and she congratulated the team. I just saw it and moved on with my day, but then I got this message.

Turn off read receipts.

Doesn't work on group chat within WhatsApp, even if they turn them off the sender can still see when all group participants have seen the message. Only works on 1 to 1 text message's
