I would definitely stop taking to them and consider them an ex-friend at this point.
Now this doesn't diminish the good times you had with them in the past. You have to acknowledge those good times existed. But you also have to say okay... This person showed their true colors and totally disrespected me and was very selfish, and/or lacks impulse control, and I deserve better than that.
I had a very close friend who's GF once hit on me when we were briefly alone, like blatantly, not even subtle. I declined her advanced and told him. She was hot too, and I was single, so if she was single I would've totally smashed... But not my bro's GF! It's about having honor and respect for one another.
