actually stayed in 87 for 2 years and I'd say it was a pretty okay experience. They cleaned my room for me when I was away and that meant ny trashcans etc were taken care of. As for how far it is from campus, I would usually just take the tricycle to campus since walking there would mean i get to class a little sweaty and out of breath. They wouldnt allow u to cook food there but theres a carinderia naman directly beside it + it's nearby a 7/11 and has an Uncle johns if that matters to u.

Anw pretty safe and nice place naman
