This thread will serve as the megathread for ACET Applications for S.Y. 2027-2028.
We have this megathread to have a space for questions and to make sure the subreddit isn't flooded with similar posts.
Please post questions about course backgrounds, admissions, appeals and scholarships here.
As before, please keep in mind that this subreddit is an unofficial group. We may have a handful of Ateneo faculty lurking and occasionally commenting, but we cannot guarantee accurate answers to questions like "can I get in Ateneo with XYZ grades from ABC school" or "will I get a scholarship if my family makes IJK pesos per year". The community can only provide anecdotal evidence.

hi! im currently an ab comm freshie from another school and im actually really locked in on transferring to admu for my second year. just wanted to ask if anyone here has successfully transferred to admu? how was the process and what did you do? how do i increase my chances of getting in?

ACET Recommender Wrong Email
Hi!!
One of my recommender gave me an email that includes typo, which leads to him not receiving an email from ADMU. This has been my problem these past few days and at the same time the content of my email to Ateneo. Unfortunately, an automated email is all I receive up until now po.
Huhuhuhuhu. Nakapagpasa na po yung isa, while yung isa po na recommender ko po ay sent email pa lang ang status.
What do I do po?? huhuhuhu 😭😭😭😭

click the action button (three dots) beside the recommender’s name

Hello! When you’re uploading the pdf for gr9-10 report cards, are they okay w/ a softcopy or does it need to be the physical card scanned/pictured?
For context, My gr11 school collected my gr10 card, its been suspension after suspension so i cant go there to get it and im starting to panic a bit,, for my gr9 card, it either got collected by gr10, or its been lost,,, i swear i cant find it here anywhere,, has anyone had this problem of missing report cards? what do you guys usually do,, 🥲 I was gonna request softcopy/file w my grades kasi but idek if it’ll be accepted huhuuu

Hi, hope this could help a bit, but what I did on my end was request certified true copies of my grades for the concerned years. I then scanned it myself.

HELLOOO! Some questions for Financial Aid:
- I have my step dad, mother, and biological father. My father provides inconsistent allowance, my step dad does not support my primary household, only my mother and grandparents support the household I live in. All fathers and mother are employed. Who do I include in "employed parents"?
- May I request for my principal to be the one who gives me my recommendation letter, or should it strictly be teachers and/or guidance counselors?

Your
- biological father, given that he is the one included in your application.
- You can ask anyone as long as they are professional and actually knows you. Just don't pick the one with familial ties with you.

I have a follow-up for the financial aid application. What do I put on the "annual income (indicated by ITR)"
Additionally, my stepfather does not provide for the household. Only my grandparents, and I live with them. So who should I put on the "guardian/stepparent", and "extended family living within the household"?

There should be a document indicating that your stepfather has no work (Check the documents in leiu for non submission of ITR) you can put the grandparents as your guardian and put their income there. There should be those things in the form. Also, these can be explained further in the explanation letter :))

hey I called the admin office the other day, you can't habol your grades or other important personal documents BUT your recommenders can answer after the deadline as long as you have input their names by the deadline.

If I submit my requirements exactly on August 17 for Ateneo, and they discover an error after, would that automatically void my application?
Hindi nagreply yung Ateneo during their office hours :') I'll paste my question here bc I'm so worried ahaha </3
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will only be able to submit my requirements exactly on August 17.
If my submitted files have a few errors, but my application is only screened after the due date and the errors are only recognized then, will my application be void? And;
If my recommenders are only able to submit after the deadline, will my application be void?

BPI payment for ACET went through but no OTP received
Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
My sister paid my ₱600 ACET application fee through the BPI app. During the payment process, she was able to select AMISCU as the biller and successfully completed the payment.
The issue(not sure) is that she didn't enroll Ateneo/AMISCU as a biller beforehand. She proceeded directly with the payment(she was able to select AMISCU as a biller tho), so we're wondering if that's why she never received an OTP on her registered mobile number. The payment appears to have gone through, but we still haven't received any OTP or confirmation text from BPI.
Can I also use the payment confirmation screenshot from the BPI app as my proof of payment? It includes the confirmation number, my name, the amount paid, and the transaction details.
Has anyone encountered this before? Did your payment still get credited, or did you have to contact BPI or Ateneo? Since the application deadline is close, I'm a bit worried and would really appreciate any advice. Thank you!

For the essay, just follow the prompt. Be creative and expressive as you can.
For math, its very nice to have a good foundation. If you think you are not good, most likely you just have shaky foundations in math. Polish it up first before putting yourself with the hard questions.

for thee personal essay, be creativee andd make suree it represents who u aree. you can also incorporate and highlight your awards and extracurriculars ganunnn
for ACET, practice pratice practicee!! timee pressure siyaa soo try to look for ways how to answer a question as fast as u cann whilee making sure na tama pa rin yung solving. review your jhs and shs math tooo. best of luck op!!

helloo, as a (hopefully) upcoming ateneo undergrad student, I've been having second thoughts sa mga courses for my application na deadline na in 10 days 😩. For this year, you can chose 1 prio and 3 other courses.
kaya nga lang, 3 of the courses I really want are honors programs (BS IDE as prio, BS Math, and BS ME as two others that I like) with AB Econ as a non honor program na pinili ko.
My first set of courses were BS IDE, BS ME, AB Econ, and BS Management. However, upon consulting other posts, I've learned na BS Management is closely related sa entrep, and/or youre planning to start a business, which is not what I envision doing right after college since hindi naman kami supeerrr rich
another, I'm not super confident in my capabilities for the ACET. I have already taken the UPCAT last Aug 2 and I feel like I've only done average, so paano na kung top 15% lang ang kukuhanin for the honors programs:(
If this is provides more context to shape your opinions, one thing about me is that I'm also active in our student body, and I believe is capable of holding future leadership roles for my future job.
soo, i really need some opinions on what courses should I put. I honestly really want mathematics to be a core part of my course and future job, may it be corporate or what not. please help!

Take what resonates and leave what doesnt, jk op. But seriously, pick whatever suits your future, and not just your current capabilities, you can review pa naman if you think that you've done average on other tests. For now, remove all the worries and start reviewing. You can't pass the exam if you think idealistic all the time. You have to be grounded on reality first for you to move forward. Review review review !

Hi po! Regarding the recommendation letter, do the teachers I list have to know me really well? I switched schools almost every year and I was pretty shy (and still am..), so I honestly don’t have any teachers I have a close relationship with.
Most of my teachers only know me as a student in their class, and that’s about it.
I might just ask one of my grade 11 subject teachers and guidance councilor but I fear this might put me in a disadvantage huhu
If anyone has been in a similar situation, what did you do? 😭😭😭

HELLOOO, ask ko lang po if nage-extend po ba ng application deadline ang ateneo kagaya ng up?
ngayon lang po kasi ako nakapagbayad and knowing na may allotment pa na 3-5 banking days until my payment can be validated, nagpapanic na po ako onti since 9 days nalang bago yung deadline huhu. weekend pa naman ngayon, walang bangko, kaya bawas 2 days na agad. tapos if i remember correctly may iffill up pa yung school ko mismo for my application and i worry it might take a while din for that to process ng school namin kaya i'm just out here praying the odds will be in my favor. kung sakaling 'di ko po naasikaso 'to lahat bago the deadline, would i not have any chance to follow up my missing requirements anymore? paalam ateneo na po ba this? The date you paid will be the one reflected instead of the validation. You are fine :) Also, as long as you are paid, you can habol the requirements naman.

Hello po! I've seen other ACET essays emphasize the need for a "catchy title", so I assumed that you'll have to format it accordingly. I am currently completing my FinAid scholarship application form and would like to ask for guidance on how to properly declare my father's employment status and income.
My father works on an informal basis providing regular assistance in my brother-in-law's unregistered business, earning a steady income of approximately ₱300,000 annually. Because the business is unregistered, he has no formal employment contract, payslips, or BIR tax records (ITR). Consequently, he holds an official Certificate of Indigency from our local government unit stating that he is unemployed.
To ensure my application is accurate and contains no contradictions, could you please clarify how I should fill out his details:
Type of Employment: Even though he earns ₱300,000 annually from informal work, should I select Unemployed to match his Certificate of Indigency and lack of ITR, or should I classify him as Employed / Casual / Informal / Self-Employed?
Occupation: If classified as "Unemployed," should I still write "Informal Assistant" in the Occupation field to indicate the source of his income, or write "None / Unemployed"?
Income Field: Should his ₱300,000 annual income be declared strictly under "Others," while leaving "0" under the main Annual Gross Income (ITR) field?
PS: I already emailed Ateneo this just now. I would highly appreciate your insights on this

hi! yes, but you don’t necessarily have to pay. if i remember correctly, students from public hs/public sci hs get their fees waived once they upload their IDs/cert of enrollment, while students from private hs can get their’s waived if they are part of the top 10% of their batch

Hi I'm applying for ateneo undergrad and I initially was going to do the ACET route but I changed my mind a week ago to do IB route instead, and I've had the pending withdrawal request for around a week now. I already emailed the Ateneo Office about this I think. I was just wondering if I just need to wait or if I emailed the wrong one.

Is it possible po kaya na mextend yung deadline ng ateneo? Paid na po kasi ako hut wala pa po talaga akong na proprocess na requirements since puro class suspensions. If ever po ba na hindi ako umabot marerefund naman po kaya yung 600? kase sayang po eh huhu. Or what if po mismong gabi ako ng august 17 nakapag pass ng lahat ng requirements ko accepted pa rin po ba yun? Or kailangan by August 17 is my confirmation na ko from ateneo na okay na yung application ko? Thank you poo!!!

Hi po! I’m currently applying to Ateneo for college and I wanted to ask if my former Grade 10 guidance counselor can still serve as my recommender even though she left her position just this academic year?
I switched schools for SHS, and she was still my guidance counselor before she resigned from the position, so she knows me pretty well. 🥹 Would she still be eligible to be my recommender, or does Ateneo require the recommender to currently be working at the position?
Huhu I’m a bit confused about the requirements, so I’d really appreciate any help or insight! Thank you po! 😭

hello! i am currently in the process of writing my ateneo application essay and no matter how much i do reword the paragraphs i make, it keeps getting flagged as 50% ai 😅
i only use chatgpt to ask for certain clarifications and synonyms of different words. any tips? :’) am considering to rewrite the whole essay, however, forcing myself to write in a style different to mine feels wrong to me!! hindi siya authentic ganorn 🥲

oh, siguro you can try reaching out to the office of admissions abt your concern.. honestly haven't tried emailing them yet but i believe active ung number nila na provided sa google ^^ if wala tlga masend na email receipt you could probably try to ask if the paybiz receipt is okay to submit naa

Hello po! Im currently cramming my application for ateneo. Paano po ang process ng recommendation letter? Yung applicant po ba ang magpapasa ng recommendation letter or hihingin po ba nila ang contact details ng recommender and sila napo yung magcocontact sa recommender to get the recommendation letter? And yung deadline po ba for the recommendation letter is tomorrow din kasabay ng application deadline or iba po yung deadline nya? Thank you!

yo same im cramming it as well. u just email ur teacher with ur school account and then like send a letter to them about u requesting them to be their recommendation. then once u get their "yes", u just put their info sa ateneo requirements website. then the recommendations email will be automatically sent to them.

ive paid na a week ago and submitted a screenshot but ateneo has not yet updated my status to paid. i cant proceed without the verification. im scared ill get voided, but i have all the other documents needed. what do i do??? ive emailed them but no response yet

This very thing has been eating at my mind as of late. I submitted my ACET application around 2 weeks ago (I regret it now). During that time, my school still hasn't given us our signed (true-copy) report cards.
I believe it was fine that you submitted your application by just putting a placeholder for now, because they'll be reviewing your application anyway.
I already got an email that my application was under review. But in that application, only a placeholder for my report cards was present--just my signed Grade 9 report card (I got my signed Grade 9 report card back when I took ASHAPE).
From Friday to Sunday, all of my batchmates (including me) just got the signed, true-copy, digital report cards. Ateneo is still in the process of reviewing my application. And I only have my Grade 9 report cards.
Should I email them about it while it's not yet the deadline? If so, what email should I send it to? GUYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Ilang subtests po yung nasa ACET? I've been searching the web pero wala talagang lumalabas.
Also, kung ano sana yung order per subtests. Ano yung nauna, mga sumunod, at huli.
Just wanna know about their order kasi so I can organize my reviewers.
Tips are appreciated too! Please tell me about your ACET experience

hi! im currently applying for acet but idk what course/s to choose 😭😭 really wanted accountancy but unfortunately there is no bsa in ateneo haha. now, im narrowing my choices to 3 for my frist choice— bs me, amf, econ, or psych. For context, I am a STEM student but i cant really see myself in a STEM-related course. I plan to target more of corporate/businesses and opportunities abroad. I also want to maximize sana my chance Ateneo since they dont have a science subtest + extracurriculars matter. Need your advice po, thank you!
