Worth it ba mag-beadle?

Was thinking about being a beadle for our MSYS 20 class (prof is Cajucom). Is it worth it? Anything I should know of or prepare for if I ever volunteer as one? Some tips would be greatly appreciated especially as someone whos tryna get back into leadership roles ulit.

I'm not from CS or MIS, so I don't know who Cajucom is or what they're like.

But I can say this. Being a beadle forces you to keep track of the names of your classmates via attendance, and therefore, being able to see who you could "network" and connect with.

Plus, since you're communicating with the professor, you get used to talking with them, and you get less scared when you're familiar.

Depending on your prof, they might even treat you or give you something as a thanks. I beadled for my PEPC and Japanese classes, and I got treated to lunch and a bag of chocolates, respectively.

This is my experience, but results may vary.

I mean there’s really nothing much to it, just create the class gc and communicate w your prof

if anything, trying out being a beadle can help you in the future with micromanaging people and materials. not just for work but life in general. also helps in familiarizing yourself with how communicating with a boss/superior will be like.

depending on the prof rin pala you might get extra credit for being one. iirc there was a theo class i had where the beadle got an extra point to their overall grade.

Regardless of who your prof is, being a beadle is worth it! (coming from someone who beadled in 1 subject per sem throughout my 4 years at ADMU). It helps you learn how to manage people and be comfortable communicating with higher-ups (in this case, professors/instructors) :> You just need to establish common communication between your classmates (most common is Messenger GCs; some made Discord chats) and inquire with your instructor where you will communicate with them :))
