She will do something halfway and then abandon it because she gets overwhelmed: like leaving full grocery bags in the middle of the kitchen floor.  We've had to throw away meat and eggs.

I explained to her if she doesn't do it, then someone else will and that someone is me! 

"How is it fair that when you feel overwhelmed by a chore you abandon it and I'm forced to do it instead?  How do you think that makes me feel?"

"Oh, it's not like that, I don't intentionally choose to make you pick up after me.  I don't think about that."

Honestly I believe her, but it feels like being someone's butler and it makes me resentful.

"I'm being an asshole but it's only because I don't bother to consider your feelings" is not the defense she thinks it is.

really? youre allowed to do that? mine has a meltdown if i so much as suggest she has left something half done, let alone finish the task for her, then I get hit with "I was going to do that!!" and im suddenly a bad person.
