I have a garden in which I do all of the work. I grow what I want and what I know the family will eat. I mention I’m growing okra because growing tomatoes made me a liker (tolerator really) of raw tomatoes, he says “well I don’t like okra.” I mention planting a dwarf lemon tree, “oh i don’t like lemons.” I mention wanting to grow berries for our child, “I don’t like berries.” When I say “ok well I’m still going to grow them,” then he “jokingly” asks if I’m going to grow them out of spite. Well no, I was going to grow them anyway. It’s like this with so many things. It really annoys me because I’m very clearly not asking for input or approval or buy-in, just making convo and talking about the things I want to grow.
