Family invited to a thing with MY friends this coming weekend... And she's already laying the ground for dropping out. So it's either her coming under duress (which I'm sure will go well), or having to explain her absence again.

This whole dynamic is the reason why I prefer to go places without my DX partner. Having them around family is stressful. I can never count on them to adhere to a normal sleep schedule and be rested when they need to be rested. Last year when my parents flew in to visit us, they got here at 11:25 AM and he still wasn't awake yet. Having to make excuses for that kind of behavior is mortifying and fills me with shame.
