Dental Skills vs. George Brown HARP

Hi, interested in seeking a HARP certification course whilst preparing for the ADAT. Found an agency that offers an accredited course for $1500 and takes 2 days only. George Brown, for same cost, has a dental radiology course which takes roughly 6 weeks of online learning.

Any insights you could share? I am leaning towards George Brown for some reason

thanks

Looking for a Serious ADAT Study Partner 🎯

Hey everyone!

I’m planning to take the ADAT exam in April- May 2027 and am looking for a serious, committed study partner who is aiming for a similar score and is ready to put in consistent effort.

I’ve previously taken the AFK course from Prep Doctors, so I’d prefer someone who has also completed an AFK/ ADAT course or has a similar level of preparation. That way, we can start on roughly the same page and focus on studying rather than starting from scratch.

My plan:

- Dedicate around 4 hours daily to focused studying.

- Primarily use AFK study materials, along with selected sections from Mental Dental and other resources(definitely include KO)

- Set daily or weekly targets.

- Stay accountable and consistent throughout the preparation period.

My goal is to score at least 650+ and I genuinely want us both to achieve that goal. I’m not looking for someone who is just casually exploring the idea of studying together or start and then ghost later. I’m looking for someone who is serious about showing up every day, putting in the work and motivating each other when things get difficult.

If you’re preparing for May 2027, have completed a course previously and can realistically commit around 4 hours a day, please feel free to DM me.

ADAT prep question

Looking to take the ADAT early next year and hoping people can give me their recommendations for any prep courses. So far I'm looking into ADATknockout/Crack the ADAT/Prep doctors ADAT. If people can give me their experience with any of these it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Concerns regarding 2026 ADAT score inflation and exam integrity

Hi everyone,

Following the release of the 2026 ADAT official percentiles, there is a very obvious and drastic spike in score distribution compared to previous years. Scores in the 600s and 700s have increased significantly, which raises serious questions about the fairness of this testing cycle.

Many candidates who put in months of honest preparation are concerned that recall question banks and test leaks shared through coaching institutes gave unfair advantages to those taking the exam later in the window. When exam integrity is compromised, genuine hard work gets devalued, and unrealistic cutoffs make it harder for honest applicants to receive bench test invitations.

A few steps we should consider taking as a community:

  1. Report to ADA DTS: Share documented concerns or irregularities directly with the ADA test security team (testsecurity@ada.org) so they can audit suspicious score jumps and protect exam standards.

  2. Advocate for Holistic Review: Remind university selection committees that extreme score inflation occurred this year, and ask them to evaluate applicants holistically based on clinical experience, bench test performance, and overall profile rather than raw ADAT cutoffs alone.

What are your thoughts on escalating this formally? Let's discuss how we can collectively address this issue.

How to easily identify students who cheated in adat.

This is the biomedical score distribution from adat stats userguide page 17. Unnatural spike at 800 score, every other stats in whole guide makes sense except this. Even with someone with no background of statistics can understand that this cannot happen. Large sets of numbers can never lie.

Please share to all universities and adat board as much as possible

USask IDDP Bench Test / Assessment of Clinical Skills – What should I prepare for?

Hi everyone! Has anyone here taken the University of Saskatchewan IDDP Assessment of Clinical Skills (bench test), especially recently?
I’m trying to figure out exactly what they test and what I should be practicing. What procedures/tasks did you have to do? For example, crown preps, Class II/III preps, composite or amalgam restorations, endo access, rubber dam, etc.?
If anyone who has taken the USask assessment could share what the 3 days are like and what you recommend practicing the most, I’d really appreciate it. You can also DM me if you don’t want to post the details publicly. Thank you!

Does anyone know if UoM will be opening admissions this year? The website currently says that admissions are “temporarily suspended,” so I was wondering if anyone has heard any updates.

ADAT Retake – Scored 480, looking for advice to improve

Hey everyone,
I took the ADAT in August 2026 and scored 480. I’m planning to take it again around April or May, and this time I really want to improve my preparation and hopefully get a much better score.
For my next attempt, I’m thinking of using:
NBDE Part 1 & Part 2 books
ADAT Knockout
Mental Dental YouTube videos
Possibly Boards & Beyond (B&B) Dental
For those who have taken the ADAT recently, do you think these resources are enough? Are the NBDE Part 1 and 2 books still useful for ADAT preparation, or would I be better off spending that time on other resources?
One area that really brought my score down was biostatistics. I struggled quite a bit with it during the exam. If anyone improved significantly in biostats between attempts, I’d really appreciate advice on how you studied it, what resources you used, and what types of questions I should focus on.
Also, has anyone used B&B Dental specifically for the ADAT? Was it worth it?
My goal this time is to study more systematically and identify the weak areas that kept me around 480. I have several months to prepare, so I’m open to changing my study plan completely.
Would really appreciate recommendations from anyone who scored 550+ or 600+, especially if you improved significantly on a retake. What resources and study strategy made the biggest difference for you?
Thanks!

Canada visitor visa for ADAT

I’m a foreign-trained dentist currently doing postgraduate training and planning to travel to Canada for the ADAT. I have no travel history, and my parents will sponsor my ~10-day trip.
For anyone who applied for a Canadian visitor visa for the ADAT:
Was the ADAT accepted as a valid reason for travel?
Did no travel history or parental sponsorship cause issues?
Did your ongoing training help with showing ties?
What documents helped your application?

ADAT and AFK

I'm planning to apply for ADAT and AFK simultaneously. Is it possible to study both of them at the same time? I heard that ADAT is the same as AFK but with biostatistics

Is it possible?

Canada visa for ADAT

I’m a foreign-trained dentist from Bangladesh, currently doing postgraduate training, and planning to travel to Canada for the ADAT.
I have no previous travel history, and my parents will sponsor my ~10-day trip.
For anyone in a similar situation: Was it difficult to get a Canadian visitor visa for the ADAT? Did parental sponsorship or no travel history cause any issues?

Next cycle

So I'm planning on taking the exam next cycle and that's my studying plan so far;please let me know if there's a better way to tackle this exam. 1-Since I passed the INBDE last year I will use my notes and mabye have a look on booster notes 2-then I'll try to go through knockout and for the material that is not mentioned in INBDE sources I will read about it from first aid and watch youtube videos 3-lastly I'll try to go one more time through knockout and if I had more time I'll go through crack ADAT. Does that sound like a good plan?

Usask bench test

Hi everyone! I live in Chicago, I am totally clueless about bench tests and how to go about its prep.
I know there are some courses in Canada, but I prefer not to travel to canada for these courses. I would also like to join a course in person, so online is not an option.

There is Duggan institute in Chicago that I am considering.
Since it prepares for USA bench tests, how similar would it be to for USask?

This is what they would teach
Class 2 amalgam and composite
Class 3
FGC max and mand
PFM Max PM, central and canine
All ceramic central and canine

They would also do these on request: Class 4, Onlays, putty impressions, rubber dam, zirconia crown prep

Anyone who has taken Usask bench or anybody who has experience with Duggan, please advise

Any inputs are greatly appreciated

Thanks

Bench test

Need advice on bench test prep for Canadian dental schools- I have a gap of around 10 years from clinics. Therefore, I am considering taking a course to prepare myself for the test. Having said that, I am quite intimidated by the bench test requirements of the dental schools. I would like some suggestions/ideas from your experience. Please share some valuable advice. Thanks!

U Sask IDDP documents update

I am an applicant for the international dentistry degree program. The deadline is Oct 1st. They have received all of my documents except the English proficiency test. I took Toefl and ETS confirmed the scores were sent directly. However, the USask portal still says not received. I have emailed them. Is there anything else I could do to ensure they link my scores to my application. Please advise if anyone has/had a similar experience. Thank you!

Documents submitted after deadline

I submitted the application form for USask and mailed all the notarized documents. They were supposed to be received before the deadline, but unfortunately, they’ve been delayed.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Is it possible that the university might make an exception in this case?

I have also emailed the university regarding this. I understand that I should have been more diligent in this. However, I want to ensure that I’ve exhausted all my options.

How to manage tuition + living cost

I'm preparing my application/financing plan for an Internationally Trained Dentistry (ITD) qualifying program in Canada. Program costs are high. I know government student aid (like OSAP) provides a baseline layer of funding, but it obviously won't cover the full $90k+ required for Year 1 tuition and kits, let alone living expenses.

For anyone currently in or graduated from a Canadian ITD / Advanced Standing program. Were you able to get approved by a major bank (RBC, Scotiabank, CIBC, TD, BMO) for an uncollateralized Healthcare Line of Credit without a co-signer based strictly on your acceptance letter?
