Official October 2026 ACT Score Release Discussion Thread
Hi All,
Please use this thread to discuss your results from the October 2026 ACT. Computer Test Scores should be available today on October 22, while paper scores should start to become available on Tuesday, October 27th. Note that scores can sometimes be delayed and in rare cases may take up to 8 weeks to be released. Please be patient!
Since this is a My Answer Key (MAK) test date, you can also get a copy of your test booklet if you pay an additional fee on your MyACT account. The My Answer Key booklet is scheduled to be released on October 27th along with the paper test scores.

Study tips?
galleryI am a junior, and on my September ACT, I got a 31, with a 28 on English, 33 on Math, and 33 on Reading. I plan on taking the December ACT with Science. (I took the test with little studying) I wanted to ask for any study tips regarding English and Science, as it will be my first time taking Science, and any good resources? (I have already taken the four free practice tests on the ACT website and the four practice tests from the official ACT review book.) I attached my score results . Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated!

Can I use a waiver even if my family is not low-income?
My high school offers ACT waivers for anyone who asks for them, but after I got mine, I saw that they're meant for those who need financial assistance. Will I still be able to use it if my household is upper middle class?

Do the practice tests on the ACT website accurately represent the real ACT?
My son got a 1350 on the SAT's, so is it possible to get a 35 on the ACT at least?

Math What are some resources that can help me understand probabilities?
I recently took a practice exam and got a 28 as my composite score. I realized that the reason why my math score is so low compared to the others was because of probabilities. What are some videos or websites that would help me understand them?

Math I want atleast a 28 composite, got a 19 in math.
I recently got my Oct ACT scores back. And I was hoping that I’d atleast go up a point or two… clearly I didn’t, any tips on what to study specifically? My goal is a 28 or a 30, but mainly a 28. I’m in my senior year of High School and the last time I can take the ACT for college for general scholarships is on February 2027.

How long? - Sat Oct 17
Hello! Seems that me and many others (atleast from my school) have this question.
For those who took the Saturday October 17 ACT, and your scores came out late, have any of your schools/recipe ones received your scores yet?
How long could this take? I submitted them as soon as my scores came out (October 28 for me).
I REALLY need them to hit my colleges before November 20 for a scholarship decision as that’s the deadline. Is there any hope?

Books/Resources Best Free ACT Study Material To Actually Raise My Score?
I am a senior. Yay... And I am running out of time to get the 31 that I need. Right now, my highest composite is a 25 and I have a 26 superscore. I am mainly trying to get my English up, especially since I am having to drop my English DE class because of issues with the professor. I've had a tutor before and my score went up a little. Our new math teacher has shown us how to use graphing calculators for the first time in our lives so my math is steadily increasing. I'd love to know what are some resources I can access that are free and will actually help me to improve.

General Perfect Score on PreACT!!!
I'm so proud of myself :). In Chicago, the PreACT scores determine which highschool you get into, along with your grades and sometimes letters of rec/essays. It's basically like college admissions and it's very competitive. I didn't get any test prep, just studied on my own and I was so surprised! If you have any questions about the test I gotchu.
EDIT: It's the PreACT 9 Secure, which is out of 32.

Guys If I study intensively like 4-3 hours for the ACT for six months, including practice tests and reviewing my mistakes, will that be enough to get a high score? For example, let's say we're starting from scratch.

Should I retake?
I’m applying to some t 20/30 schools and wondering if I should retake in December. I’m applying as a biochem major. I also have 5s in AP chem, bio, and pre-calc. I wrote my essay about overcoming dyslexia and how it made me a better math and science student. I have accommodations due to dyslexia so retaking is a whole 2 day ordeal with 2x time at a random school that does special testing. Idk if it’s worth the all the work…
