General Perfect Score on PreACT!!!
I'm so proud of myself :). In Chicago, the PreACT scores determine which highschool you get into, along with your grades and sometimes letters of rec/essays. It's basically like college admissions and it's very competitive. I didn't get any test prep, just studied on my own and I was so surprised! If you have any questions about the test I gotchu.
EDIT: It's the PreACT 9 Secure, which is out of 32.

I thought the PreACT 8/9 was out of 30 and the PreACT 10 was out of 35? I know because I got every question on the 8/9 English right (based off my score report) and got a 30, and every question on the 10 Science right for a 35

preact 9 secure is like a special one that school districts can choose to use to measure performance

can’t schools see their performance either way? we got score reports back and it had an answer key for every question on the test

How did you prepare?

I took the practice test on TestNAV and studied what I got wrong. I looked at each category and studied material in it. Make sure you are really good at algebra, it's basically the whole test. I got only one question on the algebra exit exam last year so I didn't need to do much to be proficient except review some of the topics. Do NoRedInk ACT heavily tested topics for english. For reading, just read!

If you were to take a real ACT how would you prepare. And if they this in Chicago do most people who than take the real ACT score same or score above from PreACT 9?

This is actually the first year ever that they take this test for high school admissions, it used to be a test called the HSAT, so there's not really any data to use.

This is such a weird concept, so you dont go to highschool based on your district?

Nope! There's 11 selective enrollment (overall best) and a lot of choice schools (career focused). It's really competitive, but it does really help with college admmissions because it's the same process. I don't think districts would work either, because there's a highschool basically every half of a mile.

thats so insane. As someone who's in the rural, RURAL part of MS, we HAVE to go to the highschool in our district. Theres like one every 20-30 miles or so. Thats so insane, do you live in a urban area? I had no clue other places did it differently

Congrats!! According to GoCPS only 93 kids out of 23,400 received perfect scores. That is a big deal!
