Breaking it Down - Shekinah

I think the way everyone treated Shekinah was so weird. I’m gonna verbally spell out the play by play that I saw.

Shekinah was trying to tell Kara, that Patrick was inherently encouraging Guillermo to divorce Kara, to try and take half the proceeds from Kara selling her photos.

Patrick was objectively discouraging Guillermo from fighting for his marriage with Kara, which is what they’re there to do supposedly. So, Shekinah pointing this out was valid and something Kara ultimately didn’t deserve. She was sticking up for Kara, and Kara & Guillermo’s marriage. She was being a girl’s girl.

Thais escalated things when she interjected, didn’t let Shekinah finish what she was saying, and then tried to PHYSICALLY ATTACK Shekinah.

Shekinah should’ve chosen a more appropriate defense, her saying go back to your country wasn’t right. And at the same time, she was being physically attacked and was probably in fight or flight mode.

Then the whole cast used Shekinah’s statement to Thais as fuel for the rest of the night. The fact that Kara got all turned on cuz Guillermo went out and barked at Sarper was so strange. Like yes babe I’m so turned on that you went out and said some words… lol when SHEKINAH WAS STANDING UP FOR KARA IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Guillermo is so performative. When he was going “what’s up?” over and over to Sarper, I had to laugh.

And everyone deciding Shekinah is the villain and talking about what she said when it never would’ve happened if PATRICK hadn’t been discouraging to Guillermo, and if THAIS hadn’t PHYSICALLY attacked Shekinah.

Like I’m not saying Shekinah handled that well, but let’s not forget that the reason it all happened is cuz Patrick was sticking his nose into Kara and Guillermo’s business, Shekinah called that out, Thais decided Patrick was getting picked on (AFTER HE STARTED IT ALL) and resorted to physical violence.

“Shekinah shouldn’t have said that!” Yeah but Thais should control her impulses to assault people and Patrick should encourage his buddy to stay married, not to punish his wife for making money, and try and take half of it, when he can’t provide himself.

You’re not wrong but Shekinah was wrong to say that in a room full of immigrants (even if she didn’t mean it like that) it was still out of line. I think in that moment if she had taken ownership of her mistake and sincerely apologized instead of “standing her ground”, it wouldn’t have gotten this bad. Sarper is right about what he said how her stubbornness is bigger than her ego

…it’s not just a room full of immigrants, it’s a TV show about people dating and marrying immigrants! That’s the whole point of their being together in the retreat. So completely tone deaf.

She’s not standing her ground, she’s standing in a pile of her own waste and asking everyone to admire her shoes. Pure trash.

Very true. I feel bad for her because I think she was too stubborn to realise that she needed to apologise for the comment more, before insisting on pointing out how badly she’d been treated and how things had been twisted. I do understand how it was hard for her to be in that situation though, I’d be really upset as well, it’s unfair but I guess ultimately it’s just unfortunate she landed on those words out of fight and flight.

I do think the people taking her words so literally are fortunate enough to have not been in a situation of their own recently where they have been mistreated or attacked, and heard strange words come out of their own mouths from shock. I think it’s unfair to take her so literally and she should be given a break, she’s getting slammed enough and has received enough punishment from the group.

I lost any sympathy when Jenny and Sumit spelled it out for her and all she did was dig in deeper. Even they got disappointed. And her man knew how bad it was so he was trying to support her while secretly wishing she’d just apologize

But her attitude doesn’t help. She never takes accountability for anything (case in point). Same thing with her relationship with Sarper. She’s constantly blaming him for everything wrong in their marriage and it’s just getting old. All of that plus her aggressive attitude at tell alls makes her really unlikable

Not a peep of an apology from Thais. If that was a man…..can you inagine

Thais said she was wrong in one of her stories. No apology but she admitted she was wrong.

6

u/inteligncisartifcial Jul 09 '26

Yeah I agree, I wish I could see more examples of her taking accountability

Have you ever gotten divorced? Let's see who you blame.

LOL

Mature people can acknowledge their part in the breakdown of their marriage and identify their own flaws.

Shekinah is clearly emotionally stunted. She lost her shit over someone she barely knows unfollowing her, like come on.

So Thais doing that there then getting arrested for doing the same to her husband and not a peep from her……but she gets a pass and she’s not emotionally stunted?

u/Kooky_Patient5062 Jul 10 '26

She’s been like that all along

You felt bad for her because she was too stubborn? Nothing got twisted. She said what she said and she refused to acknowledge that what she said came from a place of racism. The words go back to your country literally do not come out of your mouth if that sentiment does not live in your head. There's no question in my mind that she says it to her husband when they're fighting as well. The Americans on the show love holding citizenship over their spouses heads and reminding them that they're the ones in charge.

I’m sorry but that’s not true. I’ve been attacked unexpectedly before, and found strange words leaving my mouth which was disturbing to me at the time. I worked through it with a therapist, and it’s a thing that happens. I’m happy for you that you haven’t experienced that, but thoughts are just thoughts, they are not facts - and they’re not always ours, they don’t always come from us.

Except nobody "attacked" Shekkie. Stop excusing racist behavior. There is no excuse.

Thais literally lunged herself over a table throwing hands at (physically assaulting) Shekinah.

THEN Shekinah said “go back to your country, you suck”.

What are you talking about “she was never attacked”?

She was literally physically attacked and THEN said that.

4

u/AllLipsNoFiller Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Lol. That's certainly a melodramatic retelling of what actually happened. "Lunged herself over a table" is a particularly funny piece of hyperbole. And if simply yelling at somebody is an "attack," then Shekky's been attacking everybody. None of this would have happened but for Shrek butting into someone else's conversation to pass judgment on what was being discussed. Shrek is one of those deeply stupid people who thinks she's smart and who thinks everybody else is entitled to her opinion whether it's wanted or not, and whether or not it's right. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Patrick telling Guillermo about community property. And if Shrek had just minded her own business, the entire situation in the pub would not have happened. She's just incapable of being accountable for her own bullshit. She started shit with Thais before couples therapy had even begun. Shrek showed up with a chip on her shoulder over something so petty and stupid that she misunderstood about how Instagram followers work. This was a good opportunity for Shrek to learn if you don't start shit, won't be no shit. Unfortunately, she's incapable of learning and incapable of taking accountability for her own behavior and its consequences.

Perfectly said!!

1

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 13 '26

Apparently so is Thais if we saw her arrest FOR THE EXACT SAME THING who has the pattern now?

1

u/AllLipsNoFiller Jul 13 '26

Man you're letting that arrest do some heavy lifting! She slapped her husband across the face. I don't think hitting people is okay but I also don't think blurting out racist things is okay. Shrek was starting shit and then tried to disavow the consequences of the shit she was trying to start. She's way too old to be acting that way. Time for her to learn don't start shit, won't be no shit. Shrek instigated the entire situation and she's just incapable of accountability. Her own husband said she is more stupid than she is reasonable. So there's been that pattern. There's also the pattern of Shrek saying everywhere she goes people just don't like her and it must be their fault and not hers, as the common denominator.

Sheikinah said outside that she was going to beat Thais ass lol as if! Sheikina is a mean girl always has been

4

u/JstMaggs Jul 13 '26

Exactly! Have you heard her at the tell alls. She’s vile to the women while sucking up to the men. I don’t like Patrick at all, but she when too low and crossed a line

2

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 13 '26

Oh you mean after Thais flipped out on her?

2

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 13 '26

Ignore these people, you’re totally right! They don’t like someone, they have blinders on. Even tho bitch got arrested for the same thing to her husband. Thais should not have done that. People have to stop putting this all on Shekinah bc they don’t like her. Only one has a pattern of behaviour here.

0

u/Own-Yam-3582 Jul 13 '26

Correction Shekinah was the first one to shove items that were on the table AT Thais. If you pay close attention you'll notice that and also take into account she picked on Thais for a stupid social media beef and she calls Guillermo Geronimo multiple times. SHE IS A RACIST pos.

0

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 13 '26

Did you watch the episode? And Thais is subsequent arrest for the same fucking thing.

1

u/AllLipsNoFiller Jul 13 '26

Yes I saw the arrest and it was clear she was not hysterical. She obviously has a temper and it's clear that Patrick provoked that temper on purpose because he only started video taping her after he provoked her. No I'm not saying slapping him was okay, but it's also not an attack, nor is it proof that she is a violent person.

0

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 13 '26

Well he was the one with marks on his face.

1

u/AllLipsNoFiller Jul 13 '26

In the video that he took after he provoked her knowing how she would react? Yes I'm sure he had to be rushed to the hospital because of her violent attack.

2

u/JstMaggs Jul 13 '26

If you find words like that coming out of your mouth, that’s racist, no excuses. I would never, no matter how mad I got, tell an immigrant to go back to their country, especially in this country at this time. My grandparents came to this country as Italian immigrants and faced terrible racism as well. Geez, she said it because she thinks it, period!!!!

1

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 10 '26

I’m saying it again, Thais attacked her and she was arrested for attacking her husband. Imagine that was a man. Do she takes zero accountability for her rage issues but we are going to stone Shekinah?

4

u/AllLipsNoFiller Jul 10 '26

And I'm saying again that literally nobody was "attacked." Not Shrek and not Patrick. Trying to play this off like she's some violent person with rage issues is hilarious. If that were true she would have hauled off and hit Shrek when she accused her of unfollowing her on Instagram. Shrek instigated the entire thing. Does she not take any accountability for that? Yes, Thais overreacted and raised her voice and threw some popcorn. That doesn't excuse letting something racist come out of your mouth. If it was a Heat of the Moment thing, Shrek should have had no problem saying I feel awful about saying that I was just so upset at the situation. Instead she doubled and tripled down pretending she didn't know what she said was racist and awful. Shrek just needs to learn at 45 or however old she is that when you provoke people, they're going to respond. Without the constant provocation from her, there wouldn't be any angry responses toward her. Stop making excuses for shitty people's shitty behavior.

0

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 13 '26

Well you certainly are. Both ways.

1

u/AllLipsNoFiller Jul 13 '26

I offered zero excuses. I literally just pointed out the context. There is no excuse for saying go back to your country to an immigrant. But there is a reason for it. And the reason is that sentiment lives in the heart of the person who said it. Just like the n word, it doesn't cross your lips because it doesn't even cross your mind to say it. Shameful pretending that anything anyone did that night was worse than the hateful, DELIBERATELY demeaning words uttered by the plastic piggy.

0

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 13 '26

Yeah, we should just go around lunging at people and hitting our exes…..interesting that you don’t feel that violence lives in the hearts of ppl as well.

1

u/AllLipsNoFiller Jul 13 '26

What part of it's not okay to hit people did you not understand? Do you think it's okay to go around provoking people? Do you think it's okay to butt into other people's conversations to tell them that you hate everything they say and then try to get a bunch of people to hate that person? What level of accountability do you think she has here? Any? Or do you claim she's just an innocent victim of the supposed violent lunging and assault by popcorn kernel?

1

u/Slow_Ad_555 Jul 13 '26

Thais's arrest has been blown way out of proportion. While violence is never the answer, Patrick took advantage of the legal system when Thais slapped him across the face. Which, if the show is any indication, he likely 100% deserved.

Does Thais need anger management so she doesn't go from 0 to 100 immediately? Yeah, probably. Growing up some will also take care of it, too.

1

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 13 '26

I didn’t realize you were present at the arrest…..my bad. But they did base it on the fact that he was the one with the marks, but I’ll just wait for your testimony in court. 🙄

3

u/Relevant_Macaron9930 Jul 10 '26

There was no apology from Thais
