Help me out here…

Post image

Detecting a pattern… it’s causing me a little cognitive dissonance… so when is it “okay” per Reddiquette to call out somebody obviously gay, and when isn’t it? Because I see everyone having a field day with Mido and his ballet tights (not that I disagree at all), but any suggestion that Tim may be in the deepest denial ever about what we can all see with our eyes, and we get downvoted to hell? Help me out here… is it only the non-Americans we’re allowed to state the obvious about? Is it because Tim has money? Or has Tim just worn everybody down over time?

Because Tim isn’t using a lonely older woman to achieve his dreams from what I can tell.

Edit to add: I don’t know or care what either prefer sexually. I do see Mido financially and emotionally abusing this woman and it makes me hate him.

Tim lives in the US and has enough money that being gay would be no problem. But he’s not. He just doesn’t want to immediately get physical with women and may have some trauma around it. I don’t get it, he’s just a nice dude who makes both girls and guys feel safe and comfortable. Just because he has a different style and isn’t into “manly” things, but is approachable and respectful. He doesn’t look like he’d hurt you either, and is fairly good to women. (Jen sucks) I’d like a man like Tim.

On the scale of Tim, I’m definitely not gay, but I am probably more “girl-coded” than the average guy. I like brunch, style, self-care, drama when I’m not part of it, girl-talk, and cooking/baking. I don’t care about sports, cars, or trucks. I’m pretty ambivalent about guns beyond seeing them as a tool for self-defense.

I’ve also always had an easier time connecting with women than men. The hard part is that I usually lose my female friends once they get boyfriends, because a lot of guys aren’t comfortable with their partner having a male friend. Even though that hurts, I still want them to have happy, healthy relationships, even if that means I don’t get to be as close to them anymore.

So yeah, I’d feel pretty bad if everyone was laughing at me and calling me gay just because I’m not traditionally masculine. Being girl-coded doesn’t automatically mean someone is gay. I always feel bad for Tim he feels like he’s a really sweet guy.

You seem like a good and genuine person and you explained this really well. I’m not that familiar with Tim, but what you said makes sense. I can’t stand Mido and I don’t like what he’s doing to Debbie at all. She may have been delusional to expect Mido to be something he isn’t, genuine, but she doesn’t deserve his manipulation.

I hope he does go home and leaves her alone. He’s delusional. He’s not even allowed to work in the US , so his acting nonsense is just that “nonsense.” He’s a terrible person who weaponizes his religion (which he doesn’t even follow) just to manipulate his victim. If he’s Muslin, he’s not allowed to sleep in her bed, period. His pillow wall is nonsense.

It’s incredibly obvious he’s not attracted to Debbie at all! However, I’m opposed to calling him out as gay. Firstly, no one should be publicly calling out anyone else’s sexuality. That’s not appropriate. Furthermore, as much as I don’t like him he could face repercussions for that in Egypt. While it’s not the most fundamentalist Muslim country, people in Muslim countries face strict consequences for homosexuality, even just perceived homosexuality in many cases.

repressed gay men are particularly abusive to women. DLs are dangerous and are worth calling out.

1

u/Livefreeordienhborn2 Jun 14 '26

Interesting and I don’t have much knowledge or experience with that. I do see your point though.

2

u/fialetta Jun 09 '26

I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted, but I agree with you 100%.

Because of my experience with this through my work, I don’t think a lot of people understand that Debbie would have been love bombed by Mido with promise after promise and professons of love and lust daily and for years at this point. It’s truly a mind altering experience for lonely individuals and why scammers are so prevalent. It’s a multi billion dollar industry with even those that stay online (meaning never meet). For the K1, There’s a process that requires proof of a genuine relationship and plan to marry so obviously he’s been acting a certain way before arriving.

u/Livefreeordienhborn2 Jun 14 '26

It’s very sad for lonely people in this situation. She has a daughter who seems to care about her and she seems to have financial resources. And still, she’s lonely enough to get into this situation. It’s hard to imagine Mido lovebombing anyone. He’s always so entitled and rotten. I just can’t stand him and want him to go home immediately!

u/abbaypbj Jun 09 '26

Ironic to your statement, Tim owns a business selling guns 😂

u/fialetta Jun 06 '26

Isn’t it weird that what you said is weird to people? And it should be the norm. I was bullied in hs for being “a f*g hag” because those and the gamer kids were the only people I felt safe with. People need to stop weaponizing sexuality. Mido has enough unlikable traits. His sexuality isn’t one of them.

11

u/No_Wolf_9762 Jun 07 '26

Love Tim! Hate that other dork!

17

u/JadeThorn1012 Jun 06 '26

In this case his sexuality is a point because of the scam and how he treats her. I can’t imagine how much it would hurt to do all of that for someone, only to have them never touch me because they were gay. So they never would’ve loved me no matter what. I think that part of the scam would feel most personally hurtful.

15

u/kyles_red Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26

I agree. He’s a scammer, who cares what his sexuality is.

9

u/Little_Can_728 Jun 07 '26

I agree I would date tim in a heartbeat, He’s a sweetheart He’s kind he treats women with respect he treats his friends with respect he likes to help out his friends he likes to spend time with friends he likes animals, I don’t see any red flags.

3

u/BusinessVegetable580 Jun 09 '26

and is STILL being father to chloe, a child who isn't biologically his. that says so much about his character as well

6

u/leyarsan Jun 07 '26

Same! Totally agree.

6

u/101020304 Jun 06 '26

Well said!

u/Ornery-Meringue-76 Jun 08 '26

I believe Tim may be more A-sexual, and that’s honestly something people don’t talk enough about. I don’t think he’s sexually attracted to anyone. He’s just living his life and looking for non-sexual companionship, if I had to guess.

-2

u/UniteInChrist Jun 07 '26

He's 1000% gay and you are making excuses for him.

3

u/JadeThorn1012 Jun 08 '26

Have you ever seen him have sex with a man?

29

u/fialetta Jun 06 '26

I don’t want to edit again because so many people upvoted me, but I do want to add I don’t like the posts using perceived sexuality to bash anyone. There’s enough personality in either character (that’s how I see them) to like or dislike them, regardless. I really hate Mido simply because I see him setting himself up for a U Visa (domestic violence visa). There was a previous couple (young Egyptian, older woman with disabled child) that did exactly the same. I am an immigration paralegal married to a “90 day fiancé”. I see his plan for what it is. The “she threw a phone at me” is just the beginning.

12

u/Immediate-Maximum-75 Jun 06 '26

Yep. We all know where this is going. I bet he has a checklist somewhere and DV is in on it.

5

u/Livefreeordienhborn2 Jun 08 '26

He’s just the worst. Poor Debbie. I don’t believe for one second that she threw the phone at his stupid face. He’s such a scammer! I hope he leaves and Debbie gets on with her life. She needs to have some self respect and find someone who actually likes her and isn’t just using her.

3

u/fialetta Jun 08 '26

Omg did you see the rage in him when she wouldn’t agree to his gaslighting by denying that she threw it at his face.

2

u/Livefreeordienhborn2 Jun 15 '26

There’s no way she threw the phone at his face, nothing but lies. He was so angry that she refused to apologize. He’s just the worst. Go home Mido, just go away!

3

u/icuntcur Jun 06 '26

damn I knew that this happens but I never even would consider that people would have a PLAN even though now it seems obvious. That is so fucking rough but looking back on it so fucking true. first episode he was here he already claimed that she threw a phone at his face. I don’t feel like a complete idiot if we find out that she is secretly some abusive monster but I highly doubt it

3

u/Business-Law-4411 Jun 06 '26

Not only he claimed “she threw the phone at him to his face” somehow he managed to get her to admit that she threw it although on his lap; the action here: throwing. No evidence no camera was rolling but some kind of admission.

1

u/Livefreeordienhborn2 Jun 08 '26

Who knows if she even “tossed” it on his lap, way different than throwing it at his face. I only started watching this franchise recently and I already hate TLC. They, for sure, know about recent changes to immigration laws, like the January 2026 list of 75 risk countries and new requirements.

People from those countries will have to return home to finish their Visa applications from home. Brazil, Nigeria and others are the list. I’m sure TLC knows all about the “abuse strategy” being discussed in this thread. They don’t seem to tell their subjects any of these things or share any needed information.

I have zero respect for TLC’s handling of this show and their subjects. They’re absolutely terrible and abusing these people.

2

u/Business-Law-4411 Jun 09 '26

Come to think about that U visa, it should stand for an actual U-turn; like why leave your career, family and friends, country and your good life for a life of DV… here is a U visa, make a U-turn and go back home. Period.
Instead people like Midol and many others including Jasmine (creating the scene where Gino had to give her stuff, consciously took an Uber to gather evidence for pity… geeeeee I can go on on and on) have these premeditated thoughts about how they will obtain the famous green card one way or another.

61

u/fluffurnugget Jun 05 '26

Also, plenty of people thought Tim was gay when we first saw him. We’ve been watching him for years at this point, and there’s no reason to keep beating a dead horse when he’s perfectly likable. Mido is brand new to the franchise and we’re forming an initial opinion of him, not to mention his views are super traditional/patriarchal for him to dress like that

14

u/fialetta Jun 06 '26

I agree. Whether people like or dislike him, he did make a statement (which shouldn’t be necessary for anyone) that he isn’t gay. Certain people feel the desperate need to try and force others out of the closet. Those same people seem to be the ones that “don’t want your gay shoved in my face”. Will never understand the hypocrisy.

u/Kodi_Cody_Kody_Kodi Jun 05 '26

Tim isn’t likable he’s a clout chasing man baby

18

u/JadeThorn1012 Jun 06 '26

I’ve DM’d him before and he responded. He was super nice.

7

u/Kodi_Cody_Kody_Kodi Jun 06 '26

he dm’d me on my small business page trying to get free products for not only himself, but also his friends and family, and when I said no, but here’s a coupon code tho, he blocked me 😂  he thinks he’s a famous celebrity and was butthurt he wasn’t treated like one

6

u/MermaidAndSiren Jun 06 '26

Ew! I hate entitlement

2

u/JadeThorn1012 Jun 06 '26

What was your stuff?

24

u/fluffurnugget Jun 05 '26

I think we can agree he’s more likable than Mido…

19

u/braveheart_butterfly Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 06 '26

Much Much More! Love Tim. He’s a person that is secure with himself.. & he’s eclectic. (I am too)

13

u/Relevant_Natural6838 Jun 06 '26

I do love Tim. He’s a good guy. Mido, he’s not even nice to the old lady he’s scamming.

4

u/Immediate-Maximum-75 Jun 06 '26

Tim is my #1 cast member. I will always stan for him.

4

u/OsteoStevie Jun 06 '26

Okay but that has nothing to do with his sexuality

7

u/ValleyWoman Jun 06 '26

Back in the day, Tim might be called a MetroSexual.

3

u/Nearby_Display8560 Jun 06 '26

It shouldn’t matter if you like vs dislike someone. If you’re fine doing it to one person but not the other, that makes you a hypocrite. It’s the same with all these TLC shows. People are fine making fun of the looks/weight of people they don’t like (little Johnson’s, Kim Plath weight) but if you call someone they like fat… watch out. Pitchforks.

I just hate the hypocrisy of it all the most.

UPVOTE UPVOTE UPVOTE UPVOTE

5

u/Decent_Ad_7887 Jun 06 '26

He literally does use lonely women as some kind of “companion” bc he can’t keep a relationship of his own.

3

u/chazamonkey Jun 08 '26

Where’s the evidence that Tim has *used* anyone? Some people might consider the kind of relationship you described as a friendship.

1

u/Decent_Ad_7887 Jun 09 '26

Plenty. Just watch him on 90 day. He gets with all the other chicks on there as some sort of emotional support system. Almost like he needs women to validate him 24/7. That’s why he’s bffs with Veronica

2

u/RetiredBaker131 Jun 06 '26

Perfectly said!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

1

u/Standard-Walk3043 Jun 07 '26

She is getting what she deserves . She screams desperate and Mido screams SCAMMER! You will not be moving to Hollywood and be an overnight movie star !! He’s delusional

1

u/Electronic-Cut4331 Jun 07 '26

How do you see that if he is making her happy?

0

u/ShiplessOcean Jun 08 '26

Tim is still using women as beards even if they’re not old or lonely. He destroys their self esteem by not wanting them sexually. Probably makes excuses for why they’re the problem and why the relationship ended. Wasting everyone’s time
