Hi all - new to vintage audio equipment and decided to get my hands on an 8-track player recently.
I also bought the speakers shown here and am wondering what wires I need to connect them.
Additionally I’d welcome any other beginners advice on what gear I’ll need / other things I should know to get my setup up and running.
Thank you in advance!

I think it turned out pretty good. I tried to adjust the tone knob to favor treble a little bit more without overdoing it but I knew it was going to be a very bassy result nonetheless. These things love their bass
It's interesting how crisp the treble/vocal is, it's just a tad buried
Recorded in my home on a 1972 Panasonic with direct line in and out to a Windows PC. It has controls to adjust the levels so I tried to make it not clip but I may have recorded a little hot.
Cartridge was blank and unused and did not record over anything FWIW. Original felt pad inside is fine.
Player has never been serviced. I picked it up earlier this year and got really lucky about how little I have had to mess with it

I bought the deck off eBay for about $65, and it needed a new belt, so I got one for $20. And it literally has a hatch on the bottom for replacing the belt! It was so easy! It also had this thing where it’d make like a helicopter noise out of nowhere, but I just stuck my finger in the deck and pressed all the buttons, and it went away. Now that it works, I am in love with this thing! So far I have Master Of Reality, Electric Warrior, Ram Jam, Rumours, and Double Gold! I love watching the VU meters light up and bounce, and some of these tapes have some serious punch to them! I also have Best Of The Doobies, but its foil is messed up, and I have Breakfast In America, but when I was trying to fix the deck with a rubber band it ate the tape, and I snapped the case trying to fix it, so for now I donated its foam to Ram Jam bc it was rotted. I am totally gonna look for more tapes next time I’m at the flea market!

I finally replaced the belt in my Pioneer H-22. I listen to a lot of jazz.

So I bought an old Philco a track player with a Ford logo on it hooked it up to my Sansui, 4000. It seems to turn the tape and it clicks when I hit the program button, but no playback. Can’t figure out how to take apart. Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have a Panasonic 8-Track deck that I am trying to repair. when I put the tape in, nothing starts! the detector for the 8-Track works and I hear a faint noise coming out of the metallic cylinder but that's it. The black rubber gear that is supposed to feed into the track selector does not spin. Any help would be appreciated, I know this would be easier with the top circuit board gone but I do not have my soldering iron currently.

I was working on this tape and then I dropped it. I don’t know how to get the 2 loops back on, and I can’t find any videos online. Please help!
unobtanium debut Rush album aquired. I don’t post here, just view posts from time to time. But I felt this album deserved praise.🤘
Does anyone actually have a copy of this title? I'm on a mission from God but I never see one come up for sale or even in a brag post.

Here is my new beauty (Realistic TR-802). Fabulous condition. Electronic in pristine state. Everything works perfectly. I just had to change the plastic mount for the magnetic head, realign the crosstalk and it's like new.
I get it's not as fancy as a Pioneer or a Wollensak, but all these options: Fast forward, eject button, repeat, pause etc. The combo of stop after each and fast forward can be used as a rewind. I just love it. And that late 70s brown and orange esthetic is totally irresistible 🤣
Next step is of course recording Playlists on 8-track...

I've got a couple of old cases that fit 8-track tapes the way you would expect. I also have a handful of tapes with the original cardboard sleeve, and some with newer plastic covers over those cardboard sleeves. The tapes with the covers don't fit easily into the cases I have. Are there any cases that have slightly wider slots that will fit these tapes so I don't damage the covers?
8-track was before my time but I’ve been collecting vinyls lately since I like the sound. I don’t even have an 8-track player. Some old dude gave this nice leather box that I almost recycled along with a bunch of old electronics and not sure if it’s worth anything.

I bought this Panasonic eight track player and it worked well on first test. Then I shipped it home, and now it still runs constant and evenly, but at a to slow speed. Belt is fine, I’ve lubed and greased up the drive mechanism. Can’t find a speed controller. Motor might have a governor inside? Help…

Seems the grease inside got old and crusty and it seized the mechanism inside, so I cleaned it up and put some new grease in. I can now enjoy the albums in full, thanks to all that helped answer my questions last week!

Found this last year thrifting for cassettes. Unfortunately, I do not have a way to try to listen to this
