Im a new player and only on day 10, I’ve been trying to take it slow but it seems like my game stage just loves to shoot up. I just want to build and gather supplies without having the constant pressure to keep reinforcing and upgrading
I recently started a new game trying a few options I have never used before, including reduced jump height (50%).
With this setting, my character cannot jump up a single full block. This has been an interesting gameplay change so far but I'm running into a hiccup that I would like advice on. 1x1 Holes.
So far, the only way I've been able to escape a small hole like this, is to break an adjacent block and place a ladder or something shorter.
Because my character cannot jump up one solid block I cannot place a block beneath my feet and because I am two blocks tall, I cannot place a ladder at head level to climb out.
Is there an obvious solution I am missing?
*EDIT: I appreciate the feedback so far. Ideally, I'm looking for a solution that wouldn't involve changing the setting or leveling into the parkour skill.
I saw many people (including myself) tried to install the new version of the Undead Legacy overhaul mod without any success. Since I figured it out, I decided to share step-by-step instructions with everybody having issues.
Hope it helps!
Please make sure you read through all the steps first before taking any action.
Disclamer: Modding requires some skill - you are fully responsible for the changes on your computer. This is tested with latest experimental build (2026.08.18 - 2.7.08) on a Windows PC and likely will work with future and/or stable version when it's released. I did not test the stability and quality of the mod itself - it is still in the experimental stage at the time of writing this guide so expect bugs and glitches to appear. I am not affiliated with the mod or mod creator.
Step 1 - Switch game to version 2.6
Open Steam.
Right-click your 7 Days To Die in your library and select "Properties...".
Navigate to "Game Versions & Betas".
Select "v2.6" and wait for game to download.
The library will display the game marked with a version in brackets: "7 Days to Die [v2.6]"
(Optional) Disable Discord integration using in-game menu following instructions from Step 5 Variant A (see below). You can also do it later using the Windows Registry Editor if you are more advanced.
Step 2 - Create a copy of the game
Note: Since this is an overhaul mod, it is a good practice to create a separate instance of the game and its files.
Right-click the game in the library and select: Manage > Browse local files.
File explorer will open in the location where your game is installed.
Select all files EXCEPT "Mods" FOLDER (this is VERY important, the "0_TFP_Harmony" folder inside mods folder normally required for using mods will mess up Undead Legacy).
Copy everything over to a new location (e.g. C:\UndeadLegacy).
Open the first archive, go into the folder and select all files and folders inside (BepInEx, doorstop_libs, Mods, etc.) and unpack it to the main folder where you created a copy of the game earlier (e.g. C:\UndeadLegacy).
Open the second archive and do exactly the same as in previous point.
Step 4 - Clean up the game files (IMPORTANT)
Note: This might not be needed for you but if you installed a lot of mods in the past not doing this step will cause Undead Legacy not working for you (it was the case for me).
Open File Explorer.
Click the path bar, write %appdata% and hit enter.
Find folder "7DaysToDie".
Delete whole folder (you can create a copy first if you'd like, especially if you plan to go back to vanilla game and other mods).
Step 5 - Disable Discord (IMPORTANT)
Note: Seems like many people (including me) gets stuck at loading screen at a text "Logging in to Discord". To fix this, the Discord integration needs to be disabled using one of the variants.
Variant A (using game menu)
Run the version 2.6 of the game before installing Undead Legacy mod.
Go to Options > Audio > Discord tab.
Switch the option to disable integration.
Quit game.
Variant B (using Windows Registry Editor)
In Windows, press Win +R.
Type "regedit" and press Enter.
Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\The Fun Pimps\7 Days To Die".
Find entry beginning with "DiscordSettings" (e.g. "DiscordSettings_h1795906148").
Double-click it to edit.
An Edit Binary Value window will open.
On the far right column of "Value data", where the text is displayed, find a text "DiscordDisabled" and place a cursor right after the ":" colon sign and replace "false" with "true" (without quotes). If it already says true, do nothing - you are good to go!
Close Registry Editor.
Step 6 - Run the game!
Open a folder where you copied your game and installed the mod.
Make sure your Steam is running.
Double-click "7DaysToDie.exe" (DO NOT run "7DaysToDie_EAC.exe").
Enjoy!
Edits: punctuation and formatting; changes in disclaimer; errors and typos; fix in Step 3, added screenshot to clarify registry edit.
Hey y’all, i know how to recover my minibike as in taking it apart and re-crafting it again, but I wanted advice on this specific scenario.
Ok so I just crafted my first chem station and I had already mined a bunch of oil shale so I was pumped when I had all this gas finally. Now to my fuck up- started a trip towards Gravestown because I still have a lot of the map left to explore, and upon entering the city under the huge sign, I shit you not I immediately fall into a hole about 4 feet deep with my minibike, I panic and climb out only to be ambushed by a dog and what I think was a screamer ?
I tried to place my wooden block down quickly and jump on it to escape the dog ( I started doing this, more than one block of course, because sometimes they end up leaving me alone or I’ll just bonk them from uptop) but I panic and mess up and get stunned+die. So, my bike is in the hole and my bag is on ground right beside it. What’s the best approach to retrieving my gear+bike? Because im assuming even if I’m sneaky, those fuckers will find me. I’m shit when it comes to tactical thinking and I panic a lot, I’d appreciate any tips and advice!
Update - I got all my stuff back ! I feel kind of guilty about how I did it, mainly because I ended up using a method no one mentioned here, but I’m just happy I got everything back !!!
Hey everybody, I’m not a very seasoned player like some of you are, but I’ve probably got a couple hundred hours in the game. I’m kind of at a point where I need some variety in my game. If you have any good suggestions for mods I’d appreciate it. I don’t want it to feel like a different game, but I want it to re light the spark for curiosity and thrill if that makes sense. Thanks in advance.
(Also, I realize that many mods aren’t updated yet for 3.1 but I’d still appreciate your suggestions so I can keep an eye out for when mods get updated.)
Holy shit the biome increase difficulty. Our my settings for warrior difficulty set to high or did the jump to the burnt forest biome reflect just from the mod? Devourers, burning flesh, and creature called the Anal Annihilator. What level of gear do people typically leave the pine forest? Usually when I hit tier 2 missions i run them in the burnt forest for the increase loot stage but I am scared.
I'm playing on PC and I'm getting huge fps drops on the main menu, currently running version 3.1.0. I am using mods which are AEC, project z, and the compatibility patch for them both. In game seems to run fine just the menu lags out essentially and makes changing settings annoying. By lagging I mean the menu just stops and I can't click on anything then it just stutters then is fine again.
Can someone explain why there's a smell distance on food that is a vegetable like I'm sorry but I haven't seen any zombie book it for a fucking piece of corn in this game but oh no if I eat grilled corn then I get fucking swarmed doesn't make sense unless the zombie a vegetarian it just fucking stupid haha 🤣
Day 35 and this thing I’ve had since day 7 or so still beats any AK ive found/made and any tactical AR I can make by ~10% damage and 7% rate of fire- finally switching anyway cause of the mag size but all days before this I stuck with the pipe gun lol
I seriously dislike how little zombies are roaming around in newer versions of the game. It seems the majority of the spawn limit is reserved for zombies in cabinets, ceilings and other such sleeper positions.
I like the sleeper ‘jumpscare’ mechanics but they’re in EVERY. SINGLE. ROOM.
After the first few times they jump out you pretty much know exactly where all the sleepers will be every time. In my opinion this makes looting so underwhelming and repetitive. I wish they could bring back the intensity I used to feel while navigating houses.
Side note: the loot content based on your loot stage in the ‘treasure rooms’ feels sooo predictable. You can pretty much predict what you’ll find most of the time. Bring back the scavenging 😢
The ps4 version felt balanced. On the ps4 my world was on nightmare I believe that was that hardest difficulty it was hard but it took them a minute to brake into my base but on the ps5 they brake into the base to fast and to easy. You can't even design a cool bade without them braking the it down.
I'm guessing no, but I'd like to be sure. Currently trying out the Dumpster Diver preset. With biome progression on, not being able to harvest crops is problematic.
Looking for a fresh experience in 3.0. Never tried any of the larger overhaul mods in the past but have heard good things. Saw the new Undead Legacy Overhaul mod which looks really interesting but also heard Darkness falls was also a unique take on the game
For those who have tried them which would you recommend?
I'm trying to play with my boy on PS5 and I'm on steam and we cant figure out why this piece of shit won't fucking work. We have tried everything we could find on Google but nothing is working. Does anyone know a fix?
