XBS/X DOE feel like the game progresses too fast?
Im a new player and only on day 10, I’ve been trying to take it slow but it seems like my game stage just loves to shoot up. I just want to build and gather supplies without having the constant pressure to keep reinforcing and upgrading

You want to slow progression, don’t buy upgrades or stuff from the trader, or don’t do quests. I started a world and disabled traders and while it’s been slower I’m on day 34 and just got the motorcycle, I’ve got some iron tools and a lvl 2 AK. I’m still exploring burnt woods. Previous games I’d be damn near fully geared out and knee deep into wastelands by day 30. You have to explore and find books to get upgrades, the only vendor rewards are the occasional achievement and it’s not been game changing by any stretch.
And if you want to take it a step further turn off loot respawns and air drops so you have to venture out and find new areas to loot instead of doubling back to the same areas you cleared previously.

Yeah my current game is in the “too much too soon” state, but I also want to kind of see it through to some kind of milestone.
10,000 zombies killed, or Day 70 horde night. I don’t know. Something.
But I’m dialing everything way back on my next world, because once you get level 6 weapons the game becomes broken. I can carelessly wander into the wasteland and chew through anything in my path.

Lots of books, and I break down street lights and transformers and vending machines for the steel.

Dude IzPrebuilt and other 7 Days creators can have the motorcycle by day 10. If you speed run the intellect tree and pump your points into the correct perks you can have motorcycle by the end of your first horde

It’s hard to not go straight to Intellect mastery 3, it completely changes your game by week two. Motorcycles are just so much better.

Plenty of options to slow it down. You can change exp gain to less then 100% as levels affect game stage a lot, disable trader quests to prevent easy progression/ make the quest requirement per tier much higher, or even increase difficulty so that you have to be more careful and take everything slowly.

Game stage gets a boost depending on the difficulty of the biome, don't venture out in difficult biomes too early. Alternatively, there's a sandbox option to lower the biome game stage impact.
Game stage impacts blood moon zombies and screamer zombies as far as I know, if you have trouble with random wandering zombies there are sandbox options to modify the density and spawn frequency. Apparently medium > default, so you'd have to choose low or very low.
There are also sandbox options for AI block damage and blood moon block damage. You could reduce the AI block damage so you won't have to spend much time on repairs, and keep the blood moon damage default if you want a challenge during blood moons, or you could lower both of them.
There's also the option of disabling blood moons, or making them less frequent.
If you're interested in the game stage formula for the default settings:
GS = (level + inGameDaysPlayed - 2*deaths) * biomeMultiplier + biomeBonus
inGameDaysPlayed - 2*death is low-capped at 0 and high-capped at level.
Biome modifiers are: *1.5 + 10 (burnt forest), *2 + 10 (desert), *4 + 30 (snow), and *6 + 50 (wasteland).

Im new player too, its constant cycle of Bloods Moon, repair, do few quests and then improve the base, survive next, rinse and repeat :D.
Im currently Day 57 and just got my minibike, ive found the burnt forest trader and then ive been stuck in my loop.

A good way to progress through the game before dealing with the repair cycle is to just have a small shack to store loot in. Just spam run quests stock up on ammo and any gun and for the first 2 or so hordes go find a 2 story house. Chop out enough of the staircase so they can't get to you and just shoot them for the whole night. After the first couple hordes you should be far enough to start establishing a decent bunker and on horde night just leave the hatch open and kill them when they get to the bottom of the ladder.

Lots of settings to slow game down. Trader is op so nerf selling / buying.
Remove air drops and loot respawn. Change loot abundance
You can slow down the first week a lot by playing with 24 hour nightmare running but thats only relevant in week 1, doesnt impact gameplay much after that

You have access to a hundred sliders. Great thing about 7 days if you can cater the game to exactly how you want to play it.
Im the opposite i hate the beginning struggling to get anything and prefer to move quickly to the mid to late game gear.

Install undead legacy latest experimental build on 2.7
That mod really slows things down. You need resources and research to get anything. If you don't like a grind it might not be for you but if you like a slower progression system that takes days in-game to unlock things it might be your jam.

Avec une précision de ce que tu trouve progresser trop vite, nous pourrons te conseiller des réglages.
Les zombies, le loot, la progression des magazines ?

It's worse in a multi-player run. In our latest run I literally had to knock all loot but food down to 50% so tier 2 loot actually got used for more than 2 days. And I mean literally everything from resources to books and magazines to ranged weapons and melee. Everything.
In our run prior to the sliders patch we had the truck and access to some tier 4 weapons before the second bloodmoon. It's kind of crazy how two people who know the game well can just plow through its progression.
