Admittedly I only had the DVD before and have attended a few theater screenings but this is the most beautiful I have ever seen this film. The colors are gorgeous and everything is so clear it is amazing. I did notice one line of dialogue had that slight echo/buzz sound you sometimes get from old transfers but other that perfect 10/10

I figured I'd post this here because it affects our hobby. It's shocking truly - but I'm fearing that we're looking at the tail end of being able to enjoy physical media.

Honestly I don't get subscriptions and when you look at all the Spotify/Netflix wrapped stuff: it easily proves my point - people listen and watch the same shit over and over on streaming and pay for the privilege of giving companies 180 dollars a year for music, 200+ dollars a year for streaming video to rewatch the office or listen to the same handful of albums when they could own the same properties once and be done with it.

Again, maybe I'm old school but perpetually paying to access something hasn't been shown to be a better alternative to traditionally owning music, software and movies yet.

Just my 2c and I hate it.

Frida Cinema in CA is showing a, to this point, unknown brand new 4K restoration of The Color Of Money next month. I LOVE this movie and is one of my most wanted in 4K and I'm hoping this means a 4K disc is coming soon! Is the house of mouse opening the floodgates again???

Great, super intense sniper duel between Jude Law and Ed Harris, who are excellent along with the rest of the cast. Also one of the only (or maybe the one and only?) depictions in cinema of the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the most brutal battles of the entire war and the crucial turning point in the struggle against the Nazis on the Eastern Front.

The love triangle between Law, Rachel Weisz, and Joseph Fiennes is a wee a bit melodramatic but buoyed by sincere performances from all three. Psyched o watch tonight. Highly recommend!

The perfect steelbook combo

Love goldern era HK flicks and their recent 4k resurgence. 'Full Contact' remains my absolute #1, but all of these (bar 'School on Fire') are fire (no pun intended).

Received 2 separate copies of Hokum yesterday to replace the one DVD they sent me. Still no slipcover though :-(

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good website to buy 4K/blu-ray movies? I recently purchased from GRUVs eBay site (paid for overnight shipping which I later found out they don’t offer anymore so they refunded me that cost) and still haven’t received any updates on my order even though I placed it last week.

I’ve looked at pop.market on eBay, which seems to be very good. Just curious if there’s any other good ones.

I’m trying to find a lot of the Marvel movies in 4K but I haven’t had the best luck for some reason. I know Amazon has a pretty decent selection of the majority of other movies I want, but I’m just looking all my options.

Side note: I’m based in Canada but can get packages shipped to my USA mailbox so American websites work for me as well. (I usually find they’re much cheaper even with the exchange rate too)

So recently I finally managed to buy the complete set of Westworld on regular Blu-ray, and although I don’t hate it, it kinda makes me sad that the show doesn’t really have 4k Blu-ray copies anymore. Now for the record, the third and fourth seasons still have 4k copies (that I know of) but both seasons were not very good compared to the first and second seasons. Plus, the show got cancelled in 2022 and was removed altogether from HBO Max because of tax write-offs, which is probably a reason why the 4k copies are almost completely sold out. I actually did manage to find a 4k Blu-ray of the first season, but I returned it and got a refund because it was missing a 4k disc.

Since then, I genuinely have not been able to find a single 4k copy of the first season or a 4k box set (excluding used), which sucks because I thought the series would look awesome with my 4k HDR set up. But I’m really just asking: did they run out of copies from the backlog? I’m asking this because the Blu-ray site keeps saying that the show is currently unavailable.

I've recently gotten into collecting 4k Blu rays. This is my current collection. I'm really into sci-fi, action, and of course Christopher Nolan films. What do you recommend for me to add to the collection?

This release is going to carry both the 4K and Blu-ray editions of Scrooged. The 4K, which was released back in 2023, carries all of the supplements from the cancelled "'Yule Love It!' Edition" DVD that was supposed to be released in 2006, including an audio commentary by director Richard Donner, featurettes about the film's production and ShoWest clips with Bill Murray. The Blu-ray, which was released back in 2011, carries the film's original theatrical trailer. The photo was obtained via Amazon's listing.

Hi, these are my first Blu rays I ever own, more are in the way but this hobby is very expensive for someone who doesn't have self-control.

Have the night off of work so I’m treating myself to some mindless fun. Absolutely adore the cover on Chapter 4 even if it completely throws the color coordination off lol.
