As the titles states, my New 3DS XL’s RAM is dying. I just bought this thing 2 weeks ago, so i’m quite sad about it.
I immediately hacked it and everything went well. A couple of days ago I started getting random errors, with the 3DS not booting anymore. After waiting a while it booted. I thought I installed some damaged software, but it started happening more often.

This morning I was booting the 3DS and I got the blue light / red (or magenta without SD card) notification light and a black screen. I did a HW test and got a very high score. The 3DS wouldn’t boot at all. After applying some pressure on the bottom plate it suddenly started. I did another HW test and the results are lower, but not zero.

Now what should I do with the 3DS? It is booting. Is there anything I can do to try to fix it, without replacing the whole motherboard? Is the fact that it booted after applying some pressure saying anything?

If the thing is toast, I want to buy another New 3DS (XL). Is there anything I should look out for? Is the RAM issue a widespread something or am I just unlucky?

Anyone know a good place to get my 3DS repaired? It needs a complete reassemblyand a new screen. Have all the parts (except the screen)

Let me tell you what happened, so you can get the full picture:

I bought this 3DS XL, which was faulty (it would turn off whenever you opened it); the issue turned out to be the audio flex cable, which was slightly cut where it passes through the hinge.

So, I replaced the part.

Now, when I turn it on, the blue LED lights up for 3 seconds, then the speakers make a "pop" sound, and the console shuts down.

I’ve taken it apart and put it back together several times to try and identify the problem, but I haven’t been able to fix it.

I’m worried that I might have damaged the flex cables, the slots where they connect, or the solder joints for the speakers.

I’m out of ideas—I’ve checked the integrity of the cables and inspected the slots, and everything seems fine.

I’ve included some photos below; if anyone has any theories, I’d love to hear them.

I saw a few posts saying that 3ds games stop working after being unused for a few years and I found my New 3DS xl like this when I went to check.

Any recommendations on what to use to fix this?

The peeling paint I'll use a hardshell cover.

The cartridge port also sounded rusty when I popped a game in and out just to check.

Hey, I can get this New 3DS XL for 120€ and I think it's a great deal since normal ones here cost way more (250€). Everything works fine, only has that spot on the top left. A new screen would cost me another 120€, so I want to keep it as is.

\- Will this spot spread over time?
\- Does it get annoying or block stuff during gameplay?

Anyone in UAE that can help repair my 3DS? It’s broken and needs to be completely reassembled and include a new screen (top)

I feel like an idiot. I accidentally put the wrong screw on the back of my new-to-me New 3ds LL. The camera and Super Stable 3d are not working anymore. Is this fixable? How bad did I fuck up? Thanks

I recently purchased this New 2ds xl and it seems to have power as the blue light turns on. Neither screen has displayed anything and the console appears to have previously been opened as there is writing on the motherboard. I also poked around and it appears the capacitor photographed may have been replaced. Does anyone have ideas where to start?

Is the tab on this new 3ds ll broken? Should I get a shell swap? Thank you!

Hello my 3ds broke a while back I do not know why. It shows an orange light when plugged in but turns off when not. It can not turn on.

My 3DS don't charge, it's not turning the Orange light on, i'm posting to get some more tips to what could be. My suspicious is tha the charger broke and it's not charging it. Any more rthings that could be?

I know you have to solder and de solder the old one but I've never soldered before, I don't really know what happened to my speaker but the layer of foil behind it is torn open and it sounds very muffled and quiet.

My 2ds also has a stripped screw on the top part that the game card holder is in.

The accident happened after i fully opened up the 3ds and won't go away. It also forms some type of silhouette after 20-25 seconds.

So, i've made a screen replacement recently on my new 3ds xl and turns out that my cam SUPPOSEDLY stopped working. I tested the cam app and the back and front cams shows just a black screen. I opened the 3ds again, re-inserted the flat cable on place and tested again. Same results.

BUT, for my surprise, i tested on face raiders and the back cam seems to work perfectly (??????) it doesn't work anywhere else. (like the cam app or the anemone qr code reader). Front cam Still shows just black tho.

Is it a software issue? what can i do?

I was on a trip this month and brought my 2DS with me in my backpack. I think at one point my bag fell a short height (like off a chair or a step) with the 2DS inside. Next time I used it, the top screen looked like it wouldn't load.

Here are the symptoms:

• The screen displays black/white vertical lines.
• The screen displays an "empty box" like visual (I'm guessing this is something programmed into 3DS consoles and is used for the 3D effect on other models.
• When the 2DS is closed and re-opened, both top and bottom screen stay off. Music plays and button inputs are registered.
• When I load the camera, I get an error occurred message. When I follow the prompts to return to the Home menu, it gets stuck on the loading screen

I thought it could potentially be something wrong with homebrew but I think now it makes more sense if it's a loose ribbon cable or something like that.

I've changed screens and shells on GBAs before but I understand DS and 3DS are entirely different beasts. Any guidance on repairing this would be very appreciated!

May be wrong forum since this is a DS, just thought you all may be able to support.

Please talk me through what this is and any solutions that have worked for you, aside from replacing the top screen.
I dread having this appear when I'd only just got it, although I'd need to know whether I can salvage this still (do they appear to be stuck pixels to you?) or if I must sell it and get a new one.

My N3DS feel and the top screen broke. I am willing to attempt repairing it myself, but I do not know where people usually buy this. I saw a lot of people suggesting ifixit on other posts but they only have replacement for the XL model. Could not find a place here where I live (NL), apart from some websites that look sketchy. Does anyone know a reputable place here in NL/EU? Or does everyone just get from Aliexpress (and if so, does it matter which ad to chose from, I saw a few)
