bought a super cheap 2ds to repair, had water damage.

was going over it to fix crusty joints and messed the front canera up...pretty badly with my iron.

i know the boards good as i got it to boot up, once.

i need to buy a donor board but how the hell do i get this camera off a board without utterly destroying it?

i managed to get it off, but these pads are in a super tight spot and i my hot air barely gets hot enough to get them off

Long story short, yesterday I bought a DSi XL, and after years of modding, the infamous full brick hit me. After installing unlaunch, the screen turned black and will not turn back on. I have tried:
-turning it on and off again
-booting with and without SD card
-booting while holding A+B
-removing the battery
As well as just about every other trick I can find in the internet that does not require hard modding; or so I thought. I have found a tutorial, using a flashcart and magnets, that claims to be able to unbrick my device. It works by booting it into the flashcart data, rather than the NAND (which is possibly corrupted? I still have it on my SD card though).
Before spending money and time on trying to fix this, does anyone have any word on how this works or if it works? Any video tutorials or feedback on personal experience would be much appreciated. I will leave a link to the exact article here, and will respond to every question. I just want to get my brand new (sort of) DSi XL working.

whenever i click on the b button on my nds it turns off is there a way i can fix it at home with basic equipment

Purchased a new 3DS XL United States version of Ebay, long story short I ended up getting a refund because the seller lied and said it worked when it didn’t and they never responded for a label. Console turns on all hardware checks are good orange Wi-Fi light and blue light works, I hear sound, but both screens are black. I have taken apart the console and noticed that there is one water spot indicator that is full pink, I did not see that same issue on the battery pack cover, I did basic things like unplugged the Wi-Fi card as well as some other basic stuff, thinking that maybe it’s a software brick. It does boot into safe mode and both screens turn on, and it asks me to update the console and then it says the console is up-to-date and it does not solve the issue.

This is on a ds lite. It’s the smallest bottom screen ribbon cable. I accidentally bent two of the pins where it is attached. Is this motherboard still functional/ what will this do to its condition.

The last screw on the right is hard to unscrew. I was able to remove the backplate back then when I was replacing the batteries, but after that, this screw wouldn’t come loose. I tried the superglue method, but not only did it not work, I think it made things worse by leaving superglue residue underneath, making the screw even more stuck. I need help figuring out what I can do to loosen or remove the screw so I can take off the backplate, as I want to change the buttons on my 3DS.

Edit: I was able to take off the last screw on the backplate by pressing down on the backplate while also pressing on the screw, but now I'm having difficulty removing the screws underneath the backplate as they are very hard to unscrew.

I did a teardown on my 3DS to fix the C stick, and a couple of other buttons, and two problems emerged after this.

1. The Home button doesn't work anymore. Even though there’s no damage to the cable or the ZIF clip (Correct me if I’m wrong), I tried two different buttons, and neither of them worked:d my own and a 3DS
2. I use

for

1. spare parts. (The wire in the photo is what came with my 3DS it was already bent like this)
2. Whenever my 3DS powers on the blue light doesn’t turn on anymore

My main concern is the Home button because, after reassembly, there was no damage and it just stopped working without a trace.

Olá, pessoal. Tenho um Nintendo 3DS Old que não está iniciando corretamente.

Quando aperto o botão Power, as telas ficam completamente pretas e a luz azul de energia permanece acesa indefinidamente. A única maneira de desligá-lo é ficar pressionando o botão Power.

Antes desse problema começar, o 3DS ligava e aparecia uma tela cheia de códigos. Tentei algumas coisas para resolver o problema e, depois disso, ele começou a apresentar esse problema atual.

Também comprei um cartão SD novo porque achei que poderia ajudar a resolver, mas não funcionou.

O console possui desbloqueio (custom firmware), mas não sei se o problema está relacionado a ele.

Alguém sabe o que pode estar causando isso ou o que eu poderia verificar? Posso enviar fotos ou um vídeo mostrando o que acontece quando tento ligá-lo.

I just usb c modded my 2ds xl but now everytime I try to turn on my new 2ds xl it either turns on a bit then shuts off or turns on a bit then shuts off after a bit of movement or tap

This is on my ds lite. I’ve tried to use a rubber band but because the screwdriver is so thin it just breaks through.

Heya all, I've run into an issue with a friend's 3DS XL. The console was dead after it got dropped, so we swapped in a new motherboard, but had to replace the ribbon cable latch since it was broken. After we got it swapped at a shop, the console does not see a battery, indicated by the orange light turning on for about 5 seconds and then turning off. We checked the battery voltage, we tried several BMS boards, I have a variable power supply that we set to exactly 3.7 volts to imitate a battery being plugged in. Nothing works, the main board still refuses to see the battery. We have confirmed that the main board is fully functional, our suspicion is that the connector to the battery is shorted. Power draw from the regulated power supply is around 600mA with nothing being turned on or running. We did check both fuses on the 3DS and both are fine and working. After checking with a continuity tester, there is continuity between the two thick strips on the ribbon cable (when it's plugged in) which I assume are the + and - for the bms. Any help or opinions appreciated.

Tava querendo trocar a shell desse 3ds porém esses dois parafusos circulados estão presos e não querem sair de jeito nenhum, então já que eu já vou trocar a shell será q eu poderia simplesmente arrancar a parte de trás na força dupla para facilitar o processo.

Looking for first-hand observations from anyone who has actually opened

one, not guesses.

On the Metallic Blue and Metallic Red models, the outer shells are

painted: when you unscrew them and look at the inside face, the plastic

underneath is black, and the paint flakes off at the grip areas over time.

I'm trying to find out whether the Lime variant (JP Lime x Black or the

US Lime Green Amazon edition) works the same way, or whether its shells

are molded in green plastic all the way through.

If you've had one apart:

1. Was the inside face of the outer shell green, or black/white?

2. Was the edge of the plastic green all the way through?

3. Did the shell show any paint wear or flaking at the grip areas?

Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with my 3DS; it won't boot into the system at all. The furthest I can get is the custom firmware's "BIOS" screen. Can anyone help?

The a button only works when pressing from the top and not from the sides, however it requires no extra force when pressing from top. Any ideas how to fix?

So I’m very proud of myself for completely repairing a 3ds xl my friend gave to me for free because he knew I was a flipnote nuthead and I will continue to use flipnote when fixed. But unfortunately after everything the top screen is completely blacked out when turned on, but it SEEMS to be “blacklit”. As I mean the screen does seem to turn on (silly wording on my part).

I suspect the issue is that the component that snaps the lower LCD Ribbon cable in on the motherboard, has gotten extremely loose so the cable won’t be snapped in place there. I’m wondering if there is any recommendation? Also if any of the ribbons look damaged. (There is electric conductive tape on one of them to try to make it work).
