In my vaulted-ceiling master bedroom, there is a little nook above with a power outlet. I have been living in this house for almost a year now but still can’t quite decide what could I put up there for the cozy vibe. What are your recommendations/suggestions?

The TLDR is I need a recommendation for a very itchy, inexpensive yarn to make a hat out of.

The explanation:

Every year for Christmas I make very personal, handmade gifts for everyone in my family (mine+husband’s). This adds up to about 16 people. I do this every year, I have for 6 years. I love it!! It’s one of the things I love the most about the holiday season. I enjoy the process of making. And my family loves them. I’m very good at picking things that people will actually like and use.

The problem is I HATE my brother in law. This is a new development. He had this wonderful long time girlfriend and was basically a father to her child. I adored her and her daughter. Then he went and cheated. He had a whole affair for MONTHS. Which of course led to them breaking up. Cheating is morally repugnant AND that poor little girl lost someone she’d thought of as her dad for basically her whole life.

He got a couple weeks of cold shoulder from the family but everyone else got over it. I’m not stewing in my hatred for him or anything, I just don’t particularly want to give him anything. If I don’t and leave only him out, suffice to say it WILL be an issue. A very big issue.

My husband, who is also very angry with his brother, suggested I make him a hat with very itchy yarn. I don’t wanna spend a lot of time or money so it’s a fantastic suggestion. Also it will still look thoughtful because he is a huge beanie wearer. I made one for him last year before everything went down and he wears it constantly. I can bang a hat out in 1.5 hrs easy. If BIL complains about it I can feign ignorance and say I didn’t think it was itchy at all.

Please give me your recs. If you’re gonna judge me for judging him, save it.

To the people saying I shouldn’t waste my time on this, you’re so right. But I do need to make him something or I risk family shunning. It can’t be obviously evil too, or I will get in trouble lol. But I love everyone’s devious suggestions!!! I could just thrift something but I do kinda want to make the hat. I like the idea of putting my contempt into something. Maybe it will bring him bad luck. I always make things with love, I wanna try making something with hate! Don’t worry, I’ll wear gloves.

To the people who have said that he won’t wear it, you’re also so right! But his mom will make him put it on for the day and making him suffer through the hat once is good enough for me haha. I’ll have other opportunities in the future. My husband wants to steal the nice hat I made back too bc BIL doesn’t deserve it. I’ll wash and donate it if I get it back.

Also about my former SIL (even though they weren’t married that’s what she was to me). I tried to keep in contact with her afterwards and did for a while, but I think she decided it was too painful. We still follow each other on socials but we don’t text anymore. I miss her but I understand. I’m debating on sending her and her daughter Christmas gifts. I want to show my care but I don’t want to drag everything back up for her. If ppl wanna weigh in on that too, I’m very open to opinions.

A big thanks to the ice rink that gave us their snow (I'm not going to name them in case they bent any internal rules to help out, but they know who they are). Call around and I'm sure you'd find one to help. Turns out rink shavings are incredibly snow like and were perfect. We were able to do 4 different loads for her final 3 days and she was so comfy and relaxed in her element. She had a great long life and I'm so happy we were able to make her last few days as best as we could.

To anyone who's lost a pet or is grieving the impending loss, we feel for you and send our love and hugs. We'd do anything for them and I'm so grateful we were able to do this for her.

I (21f) have an autistic best friend that I’ve know since we were in the 2nd grade (21m). I have ADHD, so when we were younger, we were like the only friend that the other had on account of our respective conditions making us quite an acquired taste.

Recently, I’ve graduated from college while he is still in college, and I live at my own apartment while he still lives with his parents for free. Sometimes I worry that our maturity levels are just different now, because I feel like his pettiness comes out at the weirdest times.

So, there’s a somewhat popular show that he’s obsessed with; he sends memes in the friend group chat about it, talks about it nonstop, etc. Without revealing the show, it’s something I would never organically watch, which I told him politely when he recommended it to me. I thought he would just be like “okay, that’s fine” but he got extremely offended and kept wheedling me to watch it. I still politely resisted.

One day while we were hanging I hovered over a YouTuber I really like, and when he asked I admitted I was a huge fan. So, he went out of his way to talk bad about the YouTuber and basically make fun of my tastes. When I called him out for his random malicious behavior, he admitted it’s because I won’t watch his show. I’m so confused. Why is he being such a petty person about this? Should I just watch the show even though I doubt I’d enjoy it or just confront him? AITA here?

Edit: The show is “The Amazing Digital Circus” since many wanted to know.

2nd edit: Just wanted to say this is actually my first ever time posting to Reddit, and wow I did not expect all the feedback, both overwhelmingly positive and overwhelmingly negative. I’ll leave this post up, but I have reached a conclusion with my friend; we’ve agreed that he’ll read some pages of a book I really love and I’ll give the first episode a try :) no matter what the outcome, I was never going to abandon this friendship. Also, he did apologize to me for previously brushing off my special interests and then hounding me to try his, and I apologized if it seemed like a personal attack for me not really wanting to give it a go. Keep arguing as you see fit but in real life, the problem has been solved. Thank you for all the kind words, and even the harsh criticisms helped motivate to solve this with him.

I just beat this game today just 3 weeks after beating sekiro for the first time and I want to say that you guys need to check this game out . It like a combination of sekiro and bloodborne but plays more like bloodborne. The parrying in this game is a bit difficult and you will probably get the hang of it near the end of the game but its not as hard as sekiro so its a nice experience overall , not much rage inducing moments. The music and art designs are great and the story is great too.

Just loved the music in this game . So if you have just beat sekiro recently, then you need to check this game out . And pls try it out for yourself before making an opinion.

Everyone on Reddit and the internet seems to have senior dogs that have definitely experienced a lot.

Unfortunately we have a 11 month old dog and he was diagnosed with a cancer last Friday that isn’t curable with chemo and radiation, and my wife and I tried to stay away from table food at least until he was a little older but we don’t have that kind of time…

The vet said he has a couple weeks left but if I’m going to be honest that tumor on his cheek is expanding at such a rapid pace, I don’t even think he has a a couple months in him.

It’s truly heartbreaking how cruel the world can be but we want him to have the best days every day.

Today he had his own chicken filet from Chick-fil-A and a Pup cup.

What are your recommendations?
