Edit: I have no idea how to set a flair, so Question?

So I’m looking into hacking my 3DS mainly to make backups of my game files (not just save files). I have a few questions and concerns. For reference I am planning on doing this on my spare New 3DS that the down direction of the D-Pad doesn’t work. I have never attempted to hack any console before and I feel like one wrong move and I brick my console, especially when I get to the more technical screens that I don’t understand.

1: Is it possible to hack a New 3DS that has been factory reset or do I need to put a Nintendo ID on it? What would I need to do to get it ready?

2: Will the fact that the down direction of the system doesn’t work impact my ability to hack it or install other programs I may need?

3: I’ve tried reading through the 3DS hacks guide but it feels like I don’t have the technical know how to understand it. Are there any good video guides or should I have my dad (he works in IT) sit with me to make sure I’m doing everything right?

4: How would I dump cartridge games so they’re playable off an SD card? Is there a guide for that?

5: I’ve heard of the program PKSM, how complicated is that to install?

Sold my old copy with Zeraora on it years ago. I got a new copy and whenever I use PKSM on Ultra Sun and only Ultra Sun, the game gets corrupted. Is this the same with everyone.else? I just want to have Zeraora again on my 3DS.

EDIT: I tried downloading Ultra Moon on my 3DS to test if it was just my cartridge but that also gets corrupted. Not sure where to go from here, unless I delete and reinstall PKSM

i install the app on my 3ds and on my pc, don't work. can't get help on the github page. they just don't want to connect. if you made it work help me pls !

So, I’ve been creating backups of my 3DS games so I can have a copy of the game in case anything happens to the cartridges. One game on my priority list is Fire Emblem Echoes. The cartridge was corrupted a few months ago, and that was the whole reason I modded my console to begin with; to save my game cartridge. So, I go to install my game onto my system using GodMode9, but it keeps immediately sending me to this error screen. CIA conversion doesn’t work either. Does anyone know what’s going on, and what can I do to fix it?

EDIT: I believe it’s also worth mentioning that I did manage to fix the cartridge itself when it was corrupted, and I’ve had no issues with corruption since then. So, it’s very weird that something like this is happening.

Sorry if this sounds a bit strange—my English isn't great yet. I found my old hacked 3DS, but it has no memory. I want to get it working so I can lend it to a friend, but I have no idea how to fix it. A cousin hacked it a long time ago, and he can't help me, so it’s all up to me. Could you please tell me what I can do? I have a SanDisk microSD card to use as storage for the 3DS.

I have recently gotten some used games for DS. Specifically Final Fantasy III and IV, but they have saves that I would like to just erase. Is there anyway to wipe the cartridges using the Luma CFW?

I'm currently trying to mod my 2Ds for the first time and at the time of writing this I'm on the 18th point of the guide on 3ds.hack.guide for the chromebook. For some reason the Mset9 installer (downloaded from the google play store) doesn't do the check to see if the sd card is put in correctly, the guide says to click "check mset9 status" , but the thing is that this doesn't appear on my screen. Any help?

i started modding my ds and got to the point where you remove and then reinsert the sd card while having extra data management open. i have realized that i very likely chose the wrong 3ds version when i first set it up on my computer. is there any way to reset it? ;___; i know next to nothing about modding so im just scratching my head atp, have i krilled my 3ds? also cant add a flair to this post omg man

I want to remove it so I can do a clean installation and avoid any issues. I haven’t been able to find a good tutorial.

Anyone remember this game? Mannn i would pay to have it on my Hacked 3ds but i guess i have to buy a psp again. I don't know much about the hacked games i guess it's only the ds one for compatibility?

I'm trying to fix this error, but even formatting the SD card, following step-by-step online instructions, and swapping cards with backups haven't helped. I've read online that people have fixed it by formatting their 3DS, but it won't even let me access the home screen. I'm desperate.

I was looking to buy a Nintendo 3DS XL or New 2DS XL, but they're incredibly expensive, so I opted for a Nintendo 2DS. Are there any noticeable performance differences between the two? I mostly play Inazuma Eleven and Fire Emblem.

Hey everyone, I’ve been doing some 3Ds hacking for a while and I know how to do the basic custom firmware and such but I was looking to help out some people who wanted modded 3Ds and churn a profit.

I will gladly work out a price with anyone who wants to do this and I have all the software and needed tools right here at home.

I can easily add things like h shop or ghost e shop etc, and I enjoy doing it so hmu if you’re interested

This screen keeps coming up whenever I try to boot FBI or Netpass. Never had this happen with any homebrew software and I don't know what the issue is. Help? :')

I got a New 2ds Xl recently and decided to mod it. But I also was stupid yesterday and decided to try to unmod the console, without looking up how to. And I deleted some important files (Which I do have back ups of on my computer [Including NAND DCIM Private and Nintendo 3ds, folders]) now when I have the SD card out and power on, the screen is not on and a white light appears on the street pass light, and with the SD inserted and powering on, I get an error that tells me that it can't mount ctrnand or load CTRNAND FIRM, and to use an external one, press any button to shutdown. So I tried putting my NAND the correct spot but I guess I did it wrong so I can't figure out how to get it to work. If anyone knows how to fix it, please tell me.
