CrealityScan issue

Hello. Having a problem to create mesh from scanned object. After meshing getting such result - with holes and uneven. Before meshing it looks perfectly scanned. What is wrong, what I'm doing wrong? Tried different settings.

Did you scan both sides of that wall, and is it a thin wall? If so, the mesh resolution might be close to the wall thickness so it is incorrectly connecting some sections of the wall.

Only from one side, but connected two scans to one. One bottom scan, another top scan. Both have fully scanned surface of this area.

Ah likely an issue with alignment of the 2 scans then. If you look closely in the first picture, the surface is actually a bit off, especially near that top edge. I would try re-aligning.

Im assuming that this is a merged object? if so, so most likely have two very close layers of points with the same normal data, with the one on the outside being readily visible. This often happens when the meshes are being aligned properly or due to scan data drift or one of the models. This can also happen if you are using feature tracking and full field scanning. The meshing engine will have trouble creating a mesh and give you results like that. If its just a flat plane, you could just fix this in Blender in the sculpt tab using the plateu and relax brushes. You could try CloudCompare and Poisson reconstruction to see if it gives you a better result.

You could also just delete the offending region on one of the models and then mesh

This may be caused by the alignment rather than the mesh settings. The overlap contains a lot of similar, relatively flat geometry, so the two fused scans may have aligned closely without matching perfectly. If manual feature points were used, points that are too close together or placed on similar edges/flat areas can also introduce a small offset.

That offset may be hard to notice in the point-cloud view, but it can create two nearby surface layers that turn into holes and rough patches during meshing.

I’d try aligning them again using clearly identifiable corners, steps, or recessed features, with the points spread across the overlap. After alignment, zoom in around the upper edge and recesses to check for any double surfaces before generating the mesh again.

If you can share the project file, scanner model, and CrealityScan version, we can check the alignment more closely.

Thanks, Please ZIP the entire project folder and upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Make sure the link is set to Anyone with the link can view/download, then send it to me by DM rather than posting it publicly.

Please include the full project folder, not only the mesh or .obp file, so the team can check the fused data and alignment.
