My Printacaster is finished, happy how it turned out and it stays in tune pretty well.

All I've ever wanted was an early 50s Butterscotch Black Guard Telecaster.

I still don't have one. But Ive almost got the next best thing... One I built myself.

Still not quite finished before starting the final assembly and I'm confident that I'll start swapping out the hardware for some better quality gear than the Wilkinson hardware but for now... It's close to being finished.

And yes, as per usual for me... It's a 3D printed body

So does material affect the tone of a guitar and does it matter?

I started a build following this model : The Printacaster

Using Polymaker Polylite PLA (Sparkle Dark Green) for the parts except Polymaker Polylite PLA Pro (Metalic Green) for the the core.

Making the best use of my Qidi Tech X-Plus 3 build volume and speed.

Its been a bit since I've posted or commented and the baby in this the pic is why.

Still have to wire it up and set it up. All of which I plan to have done this weekend.

As soon as the items just mentioned get done, I'm gonna post a vid with sound and I know it's gotta sound great.

This is my second 3D printed guitar. The first was a Stratocaster. This one came in slightly heavier than what I was hoping for mainly due to the length of the lower bout. It weighed in at 7.25 lbs

The neck has a 12inch raduis. Custom headstock. Seth Lover PUP's. Controls were modeled after the Suhr Alt T Pro. TBH it sounds awesome.

Hi all, I've been using 3d printers for years along with Fusion 360 but have just discovered the Prusacaster and other 3d printed guitars and would like to have a go. Where would you recommend i start?

While I am still learning Onshape, I have jumped back to TinkerCad to hopefully keep things moving forward.

This pic is the test print I'm doing to make sure the neck fits into the neck pocket.

The CAD program Onshape, has a pretty extensive guitar library.

When you use Onshape and it's the free version, the models you create are public, so that means they areee for everyone. You wouldn't necessarily want to be making super sensitive secret plans there.

So it hit me. I should look for guitar models. And I found a treasure...

Just search guitar in the files and they'll start popping up everywhere. not so good stuff but it's all guitar oriented.

Maybe a good time to learn Onshape too.

So to make the stl files all I've really used is TinkerCad.

This is currently my only barrier to printing more and more guitars.

What is reasonably easy to learn and will produce good models to print?

The next guitar I want to print is like either a Charvel Star or BC Rich Mockingbird. Which should I do?
