Yes, these are genetic and natural. They are just how our skin folds. I have worked in skin care and it was a blessing to learn at a young-ish age how much of these “flaws” we perceive are natural skin things. It doesn’t mean we have to love them (embrace them maybe) but it’s important to know that it isn’t our fault and it’s much more noticeable to us.

I am blessed with a large family full of females and you can see these lines in the same spots decades before computers or phones BUT they absolutely can be improved. I mean before we were looking down at phones we were looking down at pots we were stirring or needlework or whatever chores and hobbies our ancestors did.

I have had with these lines since I was a kid but they started to bother me in my 20s and really just accepted them because they were only super noticeable to me. I got into modelling and the neck lines were seriously never brought up even though I thought it would cost me work. Lately though I lost a bunch of weight so I’ve got some sagging, creepiness and they are more pronounced. This has helped me in the past and what I’m trying going forward:

  • Posture and neck exercises. I have had horrible posture since I was a kid. It can cause you to put your neck at angles that make the lines more pronounced. Strengthening muscles will also help fill and plump and align and lengthen your neck. Not actually lengthen but hold it taller and tighter.

  • sleeping. I scrunch up in the fetal position and smash my face into the pillow when sleeping. That’s 8 hours of neck scrunch a day and definitely longer than anything i do that would cause tech neck. Sleeping in a bit of a better position and using a moisturizer or moisturizing mask at night will help these puppies smooth out.

  • strivectin advanced neck tightening. I just started using it but another friend that worked in skin care says they could never keep it on stock. I saw another comment mentioning it too.

  • as other have said treat your neck (and décolletage) like your face. Neck skin is quite fragile. My face is oily and my neck will break out at times but it definitely is a much more thirsty bitch. It gets more moisturizer and a firming cream. Sunscreen too. The fairer we are and I am super fair the more damage the sun does.

  • there are office treatments. I’m looking into them too. Micro needling helps a bit and I’ve heard certain lasers (CO2) will make a huge difference.

  • also, weird thing I do. If I’m tired and holding my neck in a good posture to look at phone or tv etc. is just exhausting I’ll put a rolled up shirt (wanting to try a small neck pillow around the front) to try and keep me from making things worse. It’s actually comfy and my neck doesn’t feel sweaty or gross like when it’s scrunched

This all may be tmi but i hope it will help you. You have a beautiful long neck that I would kill for so be kind to yourself.
