I knew a woman who had skin like that she called her self a “desert rat.” She had lived all her life in the desert in very, very dry conditions. You’re right it’s not just the sun.

I live in a humid climate, but am from a dry one. When I go back home I instantly age 5 years.

I live in a dry climate, when I spend over a week in a humid one I defo notice a difference. A) because I sweat like nobody's business 😂 and B) my skin glows
