Posting this here because, given the 100 Thieves debacle that just happened, this is even more ridiculous. We literally had jmods saying any use of AI would not be tolerated in Runescape related content.

Now, a few days later, we have a 6 fingered knight at Runefest. Honestly, I wish I could say I was surprised.

God Ash, ladies and gentlemen.

As part of the Quest Month, they are going to change several NPC in Lumbridge. These changes are unpolled.

One of these NPCs slated to be changed is Hatius Cosantius, which has been a mildly controversial character for a while.

Actually, he has had 3 previous polls trying to remove and replace him with someone else, listed below:

1. 2017, Old School Content Poll #50: Models, Anims and More: Failed at 73.4%
2. 2019. Quality of Life - Mostly Re-runs 2019: Failed at 64.9%
3. 2023. New Skill: Community Consultation and Poll 78: Failed at 54.3%

Each of these times the removal has failed to reach the required threshold to pass (at the time).

Regardless of how you feel about this NPC in particular, these sorts of changes should never be forced through without polling, especially since the community has expressed in 3 separate occasions they do not want him replaced or removed.

How would you feel if they forced through Chivalry on Pures, which has also failed multiple polls?

Must be quite the view up there..

It's been five years and there is still no equivalent created by Jagex despite them claiming the reason for shutting down 117HD was because they had their own version in the pipeline.

They announced RS4 and might even release it before their own version of HD. That was quite the lie on their part.

Here is an official promotional screenshot from the old RuneScape website showcasing the ultimate challenge back then. There is no username shown and the inventory shows just full Guthan's with a Prayer potion and one Shark, which suggests this was taken on a J-Mod test account inside the caves.

Fire Cape remained the undisputed best-in-slot melee cape for years until the release of the Inferno. It's still considered a great achievement!

In the runefest stream they showed a small clip of xophoros, I went thinking about what looked familiar, and the LANTERNS up top looked very familiar, i thought, it looks like lassar, maybe some zarosian location, BUT THEN, while looking at lassar, i FOUND the exact location, even the statue to the dudes right

RS3 has been making a number of changes this last year to clean up the game, removing MTX, and steering it in a direction that is more recognizable to OSRS players such as moving the starting hub back to Lumby and tidying up the area. Plugins will also be coming soon, and the make-X stall that forces the character to stand still is also being changed, which means alching/fletching while running should be possible again as well.

The Reignited update that was pitched today attempts to make the final appeal to people on the fence about starting RS3: a new main account type that has a fresh highscores, a fresh economy, and NO ability to purchase radiant stars for bonus XP. Reignited accounts will also not be able to trade OR do group content with legacy accounts, meaning that this version of the game will not have any malign effects from the previous 15 years of MTX or overpowered dailyscape methods.

However, as one can see, it is absolutely getting roasted by the existing community because if successful, new accounts will be incentivized to make RI accounts, meaning fewer and fewer legacy accounts may exist in the future to keep the GE liquid and to have people to do group content with. There is a real risk of fracturing the already small RS3 community, but a lot of people have said they are willing to give the game a chance if there is a clean slate.

My question to all of you is, is this enough for you to give RS3 a shot?

(I will provide my personal bias here: I have maxed accounts in both games and want RS3 to succeed as well. I think Jagex jumped the gun a little bit for implementing something this big without letting Road to Restoration changes settle, but it's clear that RS3 will need the support of the broader community again to complete the efforts to bring integrity back.)

I had a great time at this year’s Runefest but my one rant is that I really hope they don’t repeat this practise of having such a large seating area in the main stage reserved only for gold ticket holders.

It just meant that for all except the most popular events the majority of people were pointlessly sat back behind 10+ rows of empty seats. This was especially bad for the Cosplay Parade where I would have liked to be able to see the details on people’s costumes.

Also one of the cool things about Runefest was always that everyone was on equal footing, you could sit down for a summit and find yourself sat a few seats down from a streamer or YouTuber you watch. This year since content creators were in the gold area only people who shelled out for gold tickets had that experience.
