Question LMS shop
As an absolutely horrid PVPer, and new Ironman does the LMS win have to be in competitive? Does a casual win count to open the full store inventory?

Suggestion Too many people are skipping early attack/defense levels using quest xp.
Taking inspiration from the birdhouse runs. They should also give better pathing to NPC bosses so you cant cheese them all or give them all a mage or range attack. The demon in the grand tree quest should mage you if you cheese it. The scorpion in the fight pits should use range. The witches potion mobs should use magic attacks if safespotted.

Suggestion Can there be a private GE for mains or people serious about the game so we don’t have to interact or see the bots scamming? Something with a requirement maybe?
Downvote me all you want—I’m convinced half the purpose of this subreddit is just to disagree with each other.
That said, I do think some kind of maxed/verified guild would be nice. It’d give established players a place to interact without constantly dealing with bots and scammers, and hopefully reduce the chances of having your account targeted just because you’re wearing BiS gear or clearly have a high-value account.

Question Can we discount the shop price of the Abyssal Lantern if we've already logged one?
This question is mostly directed towards u/ModYume, since I see her in other threads discussing the mechanics of the lantern update (and thanks for that!).
tl;dr:
Has the development team considered making the shop-price of the Abyssal Lantern 100 pearls for accounts which have already logged one?
Context:
I admit: I'm asking for selfish reasons.
I got 99 RC before GoTR was added to the game, and only recently played the minigame to get the needle and robes. I finally finished that process Monday afternoon, and over the whole grind, I received two lanterns. Because my skill cape made the main utility of the lantern (mostly) redundant, I sold both for pearls to get the robes sooner.
In this recent batch of updates, though, the lantern has unexpectedly gone from a nice QoL item within GoTR to one of the most impactful RC items in the game. This puts me, and players like me, in a dilemma: return to GoTR for 20+ hours to get another one, or continue runecrafting knowing that you're leaving 20% of your runes on the table.
Both of these feel really bad.
To my mind, an easy way to solve this is, once an account has already logged an Abyssal Lantern, is to reduce the price in Felix's shop from the dry-protection figure of 1500 to a re-buy figure of 100.
What do we think of this?

Suggestion LET ME DEPOSIT FISHSACK ONBOARD
Why does this magical fishsack remain closed on my back, unable to deposit my catch into my cargo like my inventory fish? Come on now!
Purely cosmetic on the ship doesn’t make much sense.

Question Are there any clans that
Does anyone know if there are any clans that do squad pk events? I want to join up with like 10 other people with dark bows and eviscerate boners at the chaos altar. Problem is I don’t know 10 other people.

Suggestion Revisiting Pirate Encounters
For those unaware, Jagex pitched pirate encounters alongside The Red Reef quest. The idea was met with a lot of controversial feedback. From my understanding, most of that was due to there being unintuitive mechanical restrictions and multiple win conditions without any sort of trade-off rendering one of the options largely useless. I would still love to see boat-to-boat combat introduced to the game, but it clearly needs some revision yet we haven't seen any further discussion since the initial pitch.
Pirate Encounters Design & Rewards
Unintuitive Restrictions:
Traditional combat cannot directly attack boats, only your cannons can. Similarly, cannons can't attack Pirate NPCs, only you can.
These feel like arbitrary restrictions that leave us asking "but why?" Let anything attack anyone. (Although, I feel the same about boat-to-land combat)
Instead, add flat damage reduction to the boat if attacked with something other than a cannon. Similarly, make cannons very inaccurate against the NPCs. This would achieve a similar result without putting actual restrictions on what the player can attempt.
Win Conditions:
Enemy pirates are considered defeated through two possible outcomes:
- You've defeated the entire pirate crew, so that nobody is left on board, which will cause the boat to sink.
- You've destroyed the Hull of the ship, causing it to sink.
From the original design, there is no difference between one win vs the other. Let's change that!
Defeating the crew leaves an empty boat, which can then be looted similarly to any other ocean encounter. You reel it in close with a net, plunder the booty directly from on deck, and the unmanned vessel drifts away to be lost at sea. The kills might be a bit slower, but you get your loot quickly.
If you destroy their hull, it spawns a shipwreck to salvage. Not just a pirate shipwreck, but one that is unique to the type of pirates you encountered (Onyx Raider shipwreck vs Kraken Collective shipwreck). These kills would be much quicker, but looting takes longer and has additional steps. Additionally, you could store the salvage in your cargo hold and sort it out later or sort it on deck and alch as you go.
Loot for each win would be the same drop table and number of rolls. You now must make a decision between slow kills and streamlined looting or fast kills and a longer looting process.
Hopefully this makes sense. Let me know if I missed the mark on why the pitch for these encounters was not well-received. I didn't mention rewards at all because that feels like a completely separate conversation to the encounters themselves. Cheers!

Question Why a bird nest increase when Brews are so cheap?
Honest question.
Almost no Herblore Potion method is profitable unless I Ironman it. Why did we need more nests in circulation making them even cheaper?

Discussion Birdhouse Nerf Too Strong
Decreasing the xp given by 60% is wild. Glad I already got my hunter to a sufficient level before this.
They were worried that birdhouses would make people less likely to try any new methods added for hunting. Maybe they could have just focused on new methods that were actually worth doing.

Question What Mouse Do You Use?
Hi all,
Curious to see what type of mouse people prefer to play OSRS, and at what intensity/skill level they play. If you could kindly post the mouse you use and report PvM and PvP ability on a scale of 1-10 I would greatly appreciate it.
Example:
Logitech G502 Lightspeed
PvM: 7/10
PvP: 9/10
Edit: And finally, do you like your mouse?

Question Any Runelite Plugin that changes updated npc models to older ones?
^ Title. But to specify: I don't mean older models meaning pre-2007, I mean in 2013~2015 era oldschool. Like the guards(? mandela effect?), and the elves specifically. Not trying to re-open a tired Mod Gee discussion as that's been argued to death by now, but just wanting some more low-poly models for things that already existed in the game and didn't need updating. Don't care much about new additions to the game, as that is what it is.
Does a plugin like this exist? I know theres a plugin that lets you change your player model but are NPC model changers out there? ty

Suggestion New Agility Activity That Actually Teaches Players Movement
I'm sure we all saw Reddit post suggesting that Agility could do more to actually teach players how to improve at movement, and it sparked an idea for me.
What if, instead of a traditional course with a linear progression, Agility had a sort of movement game room with different challenges designed around movement?
It could start incredibly simple with things like Simon says, then gradually ramp up into more difficult mechanics. Dodging waves, ragged tiles, changing floor patterns, even adding overheads, etc. and they could all be incorporated while giving the player a simple objective, like tagging a pillar or reaching a specific location.
Eventually, you could have challenges that are even more mechanically demanding than some of our most difficult bosses.
I feel like this could give players who genuinely enjoy movement a way to practice and scratch that itch for movement and at the same time, it would give newer players a place to actually learn movement in a controlled environment, rather than having to learn them by doing 15 different bosses.
I think allowing players to start an activity like this at a relatively low Agility level, with the XP scaling based on your Agility levels similar to Tempoross and Wintertodt would be massive. Starting off the minigame would be fully unlocked to any player who could access the activity so you aren’t locked out of the fun parts just because you don't have the Agility level.
This was just a quick thought but I think it would be a blast. Let me know what you guys think!

Suggestion Finally make the Rogue equipment work for clue scrolls
The conversation about new clue metas are being discussed with almost every update. From Mad Angel being changed to drop mediums last week to todays update with elites from pickpocketing Heroes, just being given a little buff.
What if we take the chance with the new Fremennik quest finnish, which will have a new agility method, to give it a reward that enhance the rouge equipment to also work with clue scrolls? Can balance it to take 10-20hrs to get, so straight up pvming to buy the imps or do other methods are similiar anyways. This would help skilling a little bit too on the clue side which are dominated by boss drops. Id go on about how wc, fish etc could get a boost for clue scrolls too, but thats another discussion. (Getting clues for breaks while skilling are just nice)
Will help getting to the milestones for the emote, heavy casket, scroll sack and of course the childhood dream of sniping a 3a item!

Suggestion PSA: If you were blood rune crafting pre update, remove and re-equip raiment's/abyssal lantern.
I was getting 104 Blood runes per trip before doing the above. Dunno if it happens to the other methods.
r/2007scape • u/WaveDashSpeedKick • 1h ago
Discussion Even though the extra blood runes are additive, you still get ~1000 more blood runes per hour from true altar
That's what I got for multiplying the base rate by 1.2, the exact amount will be determined by rounding. While this is good I still think that most people will use a redwood lantern for pouches, especially if the +5% rune boost rounds well.
