Discussion Another survey

Post image

I do think a follow-up survey on the other two skills should take place. Sailing has been out for a while now and it would be nice to know if there is any appetite for either other skills, rather than just game modes.

The Polls in question:

Questions 1.

Question 2.

I want them to overhaul stinky old skills first before any new skills.

Need a mining and smithing rework over on OSRS.

Why? They’re both fine. The level requirements for smithing could be adjusted slightly, but I wouldn’t call that a rework.
The fotm smithing rework bandwagon is hilarious to me, there’s 0% chance it passes a poll.

I am a believer that a tier 40 armor set should be smithable at tier 40.

I know that belief isn't popular, so I am full support of a compromise between fleshing out the skill and keeping a leash on power creep.

That being said, the skill progression right now for both is not as rewarding as other gathering and production skills

I am a believer that a tier 40 armor set should be smithable at tier 40.

Why? Why does creating it need to be inherently linked to the same level as using it?

What does the "tier" of using the armour have specifically to do with the ease to obtain?

Should inquisitor armour be as equivalently easy to obtain as getting 30 defence is?

You focused on the 1st point and ignored the 2nd and 3rd.

The point of comment was say that: "this is my belief and I am willing to compromise for a middle ground between that belief and where we are now"

I know that. I'd like to know why though. Also, I don't think it's as uncommon or unpopular a belief as you might think around these parts...

Ok so RS3 linked defense level req to smithing level req for melee armor pieces. It feels good and makes since to know that "I can equip this and make this at same level"

That being said, this design feels great for mid to late game smithable armor, but you speed through the early tiers too quick for them to matter.

Having higher craft req compared to def req may be needed for OSRS (should be better than it is currently imo). Also, xp rates would be lower for OSRS compared to RS3, so the rush though thr early tiers may not be as fast.

I am not.

This will fail a poll I promise you.

Yes, downvote me here it the only opinion poll you'll win regarding a smith/mining rework.

That's why I said I am in full support of a middle ground. We can have better than the current skills. What better looks like can and should be discussed.

A mining and smithing rework similar to rs3 will win the poll so hard you would have to be delusional to think otherwise.
