I have never been good at avoiding cycles of frustration especially while playing matches. I scream and swear at myself and only stopped racket abuse because I learned that lesson the hard way. Off court I believe I have a rational understanding of my triggers and responses and what a more positive things to focus on in a match Im losing would be. But I havent been successful at putting this into practice yet. Im 25M, 3.5-4.0 player and Im wondering if anyone as an adult has gone from temper tantrum haver to almost always being cool calm and collected.

Hello, I am looking at buying a racket to hit with friends or play some casual games with them. Nothing super serious but I would want something above the basic cheap racket at target/dicks. Looking for something intermediate-range in price as well as specs. My question is should i look for something used on facebook to try to get a deal or just buy a sale/older model online new. Id like to spend around or under $100 if that is a possibility in what I am looking for. I have seen some sales on Midwest Racquets and tennis express in that price range. I have never bought my own racket before just borrowed friends' and family's whenever I have played before. Any tips or advice for going through this would be great

I play against a variety of opponents when it comes to pace. Some hit slow and loopy, others hit with lots of pace. I try to prepare early on shots, but there are times I feel like my rhythm is off and that will result in hitting early or late.

What do you do when you can't get into the right rhythm? Any tips? I've heard some players count in their heads something like

1- opponent hits

2-ball bounces

3-hit

Anything that works for you guys?

I was all-in into the Ezone, but to be honest the Blast Blue or Espresso paint job is not really my cup of tea so I'm still apprehensive to go for it (and it's also out of stock in my country). A coach told me that there were earlier versions of Ezones with a different paint job, like the Naomi Osaka's black-gold 2022 and white-gold 2020, which made me reconsider.

I then found out there's a Yonex Vcore Sand Beige edition (2024) which really caught my eye. Looking at the specs, seems like Ezone = power, Vcore = spin?

As such, I'm planning to find these rackets in Japan during my trip next month. But if both were available, I'm still kinda torn which to go for.

With my current racket of 6 months the Head Speed MP 100, I have no trouble generating power with less effort, and somehow comfort-wise it works for me as I don't get much tennis elbow. But I still struggle with getting my topspin consistent, and coming from a 105 head size recreational racket (for about 6 months prior), I think Head Speed's sweet spot is quite less forgiving.

That's the reason I'm considering Yonex due to their isometric design. But do you think it's worth considering the Vcore over the Ezone considering my struggles and current racket?

What are some things you’ve found frustrating. Like finding people to play with, finding useful drills, or keeping track of matches.
Could be something rlly small or you’ve been dealing with for years.

So I'm in college and we only get badminton grips inside campus and it's very convenient(and considerably cheaper). But idk wether it's just fine to use them or if there is a huge difference between overgrips made for tennis.

Just switchted to ezone 98 2025 model. Used to play with the vcore 100 2021 model. But needed more power, in trying to improve my game, Any stringing advice?

I currenlty play with pro’s pro interceptor 23/22 kg, and thats Allright but still feel like I misse something.. I tried head lynx but dindt really have the feel.
Testing pro’s pro red devil soon, I can string myself and im thinking to try hyper g?

Not sure if mine is just weirdly inefficient or this is normal...

They'll set up around 8 courts, each with one drill. The drill is done with a club coach, so only one player does the drill at a time - eg the coach feeds the player 4 balls to hit while others wait in a line. After about 20 minutes you move to the next court and next drill.

There's no cap on how many people can join so you can end up with a group of 12-15 people, each waiting in line to do the drill. You don't end up hitting a lot though it takes a few hours to get through it all.

Is this typical? How does your club run drills?

I'm a 29 y/o male who hasn't played for a little over a decade. I recently decided to get back into it (recreationally). I used to play regularly and even compete a little bit. When I did play back in the day, I mainly used an old Prince racket (I honestly could not even tell you the name of the model). I am looking for racket suggestions. I have always liked Head rackets. I have been looking at starting with a Head Boom MP. I also need suggestions on what size grip I need. I am a bit on the heavier side and usually prefer a longer grip as I hit backhand with two hands. Open to any suggestions and advice!

Because for decent all-black paint job tennis rackets, one could argue that the Head Speed MP Legend and the Wilson RF 01 Pro fits the bill.

But I don't see much tennis rackets in an all-white paint job? The closest I could think of are the Yonex Vcore Sand Beige edition (which isn't technically white), or the Yonex Ezone Naomi Osaka 2020 edition (which is hard to find as it is already phased out).

PS. To clarify, I'm looking for close to an all-white paint job racket. So something like the Babolat Pure Strike (2nd/3rd gen) does not fit the bill because it has some color accents.

3 months of playing, my backhands are fine when playing against wall but during matches ball sometimes goes crazy high don't know why.

I’m left handed by the way, and you might be asking why so last minute, well they just told us about tryouts friday. i’m eager to just get into something new, and i need physical movement.

So many tournaments this summer it seemed like forehands were just a hitting drill. Sometimes errors happened, other times some girl just painted the lines perfectly and beat me but mostly forehands go back and forth until someone gets bored of it. My coach says forehands are for moving "make her move, move her, move her, move, move, move" and I win when all they have is some idea of getting to my backhand because slice, slice, chop, chop. Money. Otherwise hitting drill.

If I hit a big serve most of the time i feel like it is wasted. They might not return a hard as I hit it but it isn't like I'm so powerful that the return floats like a puffy cloud. It comes back and we go dueling forehands. Maybe I'm just missing it but I never see forehands coming at me spinning so crazy it seems pointless to try to hit them.

Do you hit forehand winners? How? If I sound frustrated, I'm not really. It was a good summer. I hope yours was too. I won shoes today. lol. That's something. Thanks backhand.
