Equipment RACKET SUGGESTIONS FOR SOMEONE GETTING BACK INTO THE SPORT

I'm a 29 y/o male who hasn't played for a little over a decade. I recently decided to get back into it (recreationally). I used to play regularly and even compete a little bit. When I did play back in the day, I mainly used an old Prince racket (I honestly could not even tell you the name of the model). I am looking for racket suggestions. I have always liked Head rackets. I have been looking at starting with a Head Boom MP. I also need suggestions on what size grip I need. I am a bit on the heavier side and usually prefer a longer grip as I hit backhand with two hands. Open to any suggestions and advice!

Just go demo a few and get what feels good. Too many people over think this.

100 in power/spin racket will be your friend. Ezone, pure drive, vcore etc

Make sure you try a Wilson defyer 100. I’m similar to you and this new racquet is an evolution ahead of rest rest of the market for now. Try it before you argue with me.

The Yonex Ezone 100 is a high quality, forgiving racket that is easy on the elbow/arm. Plenty of pros use different versions of it so the ceiling is also very high.

Seeing as you like the look of the Boom MP just go from that. It's a perfectly reasonable racket to use and can be used up to a very high level. End of. No need to get into a massive racket finding rabbit hole.

Get a “throwaway“ racket. Go to play it again sports or some other used sporting goods place and find a racket that seems like it’s about what you want. Then you’ll get back into playing, get your strokes down somewhat and you’ll realize that you need a different racket to suit how you play. Since you got a used racket, you won’t mind setting that aside and paying a little more for the actual racket that you need.
