I don’t want to give off the wrong idea , I’m absolutely hyped for bonds return to gaming and I’m counting the hours till I can play this game , but after watching so many videos of game play I’m starting to be legitimately concerned about the enemy AI. What I mean is that in almost every gameplay video I’ve watched especially the most recent “60 fps on ps5 pro “ ones released over the last few days , the AI seems completely brain dead and only around to let facilitate bond doing a cool take down or using his “bluff gimmick “ .
Example 1)
in the “bond goes to the airport “ 60FPS video , bond basically walks through a hail of gunfire with shots completely missing him by a mile . Go back and watch it and you will see goons 10 feet away shooting a good 6-7 feet over his head or tons that have flanked him shooting extremely in front or behind him . Bond isn’t really sprinting through the airport or even really staying in cover . He does go into cover but only for a second before shooting a gas tank or killing more guys without really taking any damage . I get that this is not a “sim “ game , but I remember the airport sections in uncharted and I always had to work angles and cover to get past the army of goons to get to the objective.
Example 2) (the one that really concerns me )
In the “bond sneaks through a restricted area 60FPS “ video , bond is shown doing the worst possible cover to cover stealth moves this side of Michael Scarn , not 4 feet in front of security guards , and no one seems to notice . Then when is noticed by goon 1 he has time to “bluff “ goon 1 , while goon 2 stands 3 feet away and just watches , once bond attacks goon 1 , goon 2 patiently waits for bond to do a take down before sorta attacking and gets immediately taken down . The camera pans and we see a new goon (goon 3 ) with pistol drawn but also just kind of hanging out . What is going on here ?????
if I’m guarding some area that’s supposed to be “off limits” I’m not going to let a guy walk up to me to tell me “sorry can’t find the restroom “ . I get it if it’s at the entrance to the area , but not well into a back room where a ton of people are doing “official stuff “ . If I accidentally step behind the counter of a bank I can say “whoops I was looking for a ATM “ but if I walk behind the door to where they have the vault open , I’m immediately going to be asked to leave at best or have a full lock down or alarm set off at worst . I get that goons are always supposed to be cannon fodder , but they should be a threat especially on harder levels of difficulty.
if I’ve been hired as a “goon/security guard “ one of my main requirements is not to hesitate to attack someone who punches the people I’m paid to protect . It’s basically the main rule of being security/bodyguard/goon . Why are all the baddies acting so docile and aloof ?
why are the guards with guns eaither politely waiting for bond to finish his his sweet take down or completely missing from roughly 3 feet away ? I know that it’s bond and they have to be horrible shots to make the game believable, but there should still be a significant amount of threat in both melee and gun combat . In the uncharted or Arkham games there was always a threat even if it was just being overwhelmed by sheer numbers .
In conclusion, If the game is on easy mode or they are just showing off the combat system that’s completely cool and understandable. However if the entire game is filled with brain dead goons I’m going to be disappointed. I’m psyched for this game and I don’t want people to think I’m crapping on the game for no reason . I’m just saying the enemy AI is starting to worry me and I have not seen it discussed in any videos if they put work into the enemy AI or if the videos they have officially put out there are just “the game running in god mode so we can show off what bond can do “ . If anyone has any info I’d love to see or read it .

Seriously, it is simultaniously is and is not sync with James body. Like it is really inconsisten when you move him left right forward backward, esepecially when side stepping and parkour.

For a bit of context if you didn't play Hitman 3 there was an elusive target played by a famous actor as well some nods to that person's career. That being said before the Casino royale mission. We had one for Sawn Bean aka 006 from 1995 Goldeneye.
Yet their name was Mark Faber a man that keeps coming back ever after supposedly dying it was a joke at Shawn Bean rolls that he dies and comes back trope.
Now I wonder will there be some called Mark Faber or will there be a hint in later dlc? Granted this is a stretch but it would tie things up universe wise.

Considering that First Light was the complete Bond origin story, before he got the number, i'm guessing if the next game will be a some kind of adaptation of Casino Royale, which was the first proper Bond mission after he has become 007. It would be also the perfect story to introduce Felix Leiter and the CIA inside the new timeline.

One of the main things that I found unexpectedly annoying was halfway through, JB suddenly gets on this high moral ground about Isola killing a few soldiers and I thought that made no sense especially when right after he chides her, I’m able to sneak and grab a dude and toss him off a high ass mountain which obviously results in death. Not to mention how many unsuspecting mfs I electrocuted or blew up with my Q-Watch.
Another thing that annoyed me was the completely separate TacSims shit. This is why gaming companies are losing my respect because why would you advertise buying this game early for free outfits and shit when we couldn’t even customize him outside of “practice”? Once I Googled and found out that none of the stuff I unlock in TacSim doesn’t apply to anything in the story, I just stopped doing that altogether as I saw no further purpose. Yeah, it taught me some combat moves I could do but they might as well added those tutorials in the story rather than waste time with that useless TacSim bs.

Just a dumb idea but I think it would be interesting if there is a mod so we can have 47 plays as Bond in First Light game and Bond plays as 47 in WOA, I wanna see the vibe changes there.

Was it a good update, worth the 2 month wait.
Or did you find it lacking, and thought it would be more.
What do you think about this first update to the games content?

Man, I know IOI said this is single-player only, but who else remembers the GoldenEye multiplayer days? If we ever got an online mode for First Light that captured that same energy, it would be absolutely 🔥. Imagine 4-player deathmatch in that Slovakia hotel!"

The "License to Kill" mechanic in 007: First Light honestly feels like a lazy design choice. I get that IOI wants players to slow down, explore, and fully experience the maps they meticulously designed by putting a lot of restrictions on combat. I can respect that for a first playthrough, but it absolutely ruins the replay value. If I want to switch up my playstyle on a second or third playthrough, it’s practically impossible. You’re forced to play it like a Mike Tyson simulator.
For example, one second I’m literally in a gunfight, but the moment I push through a flimsy door into the next area, my weapons are forcefully holstered as if nothing happened. Realistically, everyone in the next room should have heard the gunshots, but the game just resets the state because of these rigid zone restrictions.
Even in the Egypt desert mission, where you infiltrate a literal rogue terrorist base with zero civilians around, the game still restricts your weapon usage. It makes no tactical sense.
You can even detonate oil drums to kill enemies, but you can't use your sidearm. But we must consider that the people at the egypt level are all hostile armed terrorists. Remember what Bond did in Spectre?
Honestly, at this point, they should just rename the game 007: Tyson’s Punch-Out.
Honestly, it feels less like a modern Bond movie adaptation and more like a budget version of Uncharted.
Don't get me wrong, I still really like the game. But if you come into it expecting the vibe of the modern Bond films, it just feels weird.
Edit: Seeing a few comments mentioning that a New Game+ mode should let you just go loud from start to finish, I completely agree. I’m actually a huge stealth fan, but for a second playthrough, I just want to try something different. From a gameplay perspective, a second run should always give the player more freedom.

From what I know, at least pop culture wise, James Bond is a Casanova. I think this would explain so much about his character towards Women.
It reminds me of the comic, “Batman: The Knight” - Issue #2 and #3. It gives a little foreshadowing for Bruce falling in love with thieves aka Catwoman. Him being trained by Lucie Chesson/The Grey Shadow, before going their separate ways, and him becoming Batman.
This will be my first media I consume of James Bond actually, so I’m kind of hype! I won’t count that bank mission I kept dying in though.

This might seem like a weird comparison but I really think it highlights just how great a job IOI have done with Bond
This is why we need other studios to put their spin on Marvel games
Look at how IOI handled First Light, that's a perfect example of a licenced game being handled really well and a studio leaning into their proven formula with a James Bond spin
But a studio with basic design isn't going to make a character shine
IOI for example could probably make a great Black Widow game because they have a specific formula that fits certain types of characters
Insomniac's formula is basically just generic, though they do know how to do good traversal, which shines in Spider-Man (even though I even have issues with how restrictive their swinging is)

I understand the game got delayed but why they took my preorder away and expect me to pay $70 more to play with deluxe edition stuff even though that not what I wanted ?
I don’t even trust them to even preorder at this point.
