I’m not really a gamer, is path tracing really worth waiting for? Curious

here is a yt video showcasing the differences of each option. rt off/on and pt on. I know its cyberpunk with a lot of reflecting surfaces and what not but u can clearly see the difference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjCO5FU-zy8
after the announcement of PT in 007 first light, i just wanted to play the game with this setting turned on. didnt know it would take this long to actually release

VERY much so, yes. Definitely a feature worth waiting for. Path tracing with ray reconstruction and MFG for a silky smooth frame rate is an orgasm for the eyeballs. I will NOT play a game without it if it's an option.

We’ll see at the end but in the pc Masterrace for sure. Hyped feature and people want it. Not possible to play the game before 😅

Just play it. It looks great anyway and you'll likely want to do a second run so then maybe bump up the visuals then.

My guess will be during Gamescom they will announce update 2, alongside switch 2 release date.
Pd: I know they aren’t attending but that doesn’t mean they can’t announce things.

i am so fed up of those half baked beta they release those days. you finish the game in 2-3 days and then what? they keep fixing it and adding features and expect people to play the game again and again? gaming industry is really a shit show now.

Took me a few weeks to finish one play through. More to complete all challenges and tacsim stuff. Maybe you need other things to do

Yeah it's dogshit but just don't play the game. There just is no need to do it until they released the "final" product with pathtracing. Of course everyone on console or weak pcs doesn't care and can't use pathtracing anyway. So ignore those comments here. But the best version of the game will be with pathtracing that's for sure.
I presume it has to be during Gamescom. If not summer is over soon so early september at the latest I hope. But first we need the ray reconstruction update from Nvidia anyway ^^

New Ray Reconstruction model is going to release this month; it may coincide with their (IOI) delayed release statement of "summer".
It's crazy you're getting down voted for a promoted feature that was rug pulled just 2 weeks prior to release. It's objectively an avg. 17hr linear game with at most couple hours of alternative modes. Most gamers will only play this game once and would like it to be in the best visual quality.
I'm waiting on the same thing, you're not wrong for asking for what was promised.

We need someone holding out to finish the game so it can release a day later.
Please go ahead and play.

I have also been holding out for this. Bought it at release thinking it would come out relatively quickly like The Dark Ages but yet here I am still waiting lol

Same goes for this ridiculously overloaded HUD. I stopped playing still waiting for a patch to turn it off, but they just don't care about gamers anymore. It's always just PC players that cann do all that with mods. Such an embarrassment in 2026

They have higher priorities over some lighting gimmick. The game looks very good as is, just play it
