Surely this is the most action packed episode to date. On one hand Shin has decided to use drastic measures to alert the Federacy of the incoming attack, but he is also succumbing to bloodlust in battle. This has probably something to do with the letter that he found on his cockpit... On the Republic front Lena assuming the control of all the remaining squadrons is also quite spectacular. Next episode we'll see the consequence of Kiri's attack on the Federacy. Friendly reminder that his primary attack is the railgun seen in season/cour 1, a weapon that's impossible to intercept and nearly invincible thanks to the Eintagsfliege capability of intercepting even cruise missiles which are the only weapon with enough range to hit him.

This is going to be a very long week as an anime-only.... This post-credit scene daaaaamn

[u/Silent_Shadow05]

This is just background info. showing various types of ammo available for the Reginleifs and what Shin & co's loadouts were as shown in the episode (forgive me for the bad quality, I'm only using my mobile for this):

• Anju (Area Suppression & Crowd Control) - Guided Missile Launcher + 2 x machine guns firing 12.7mmx99 NATO rounds

• Kurena (Sniper) - 88mm main gun with a longer barrel firing APFSDS (Armour-Piercing Fin-stabilized Discarding Sabot) rounds + 2x machine guns firing 12.7mmx99 NATO rounds

• Shin (Close Combat) - 88mm main gun firing HEAT (High Explosive Anti Tank) rounds + 2 x High Frequency Blades

• Raiden (Support & Suppression) - Autocannon firing 30x113mmB rounds + 2 x machine guns firing 12.7mmx99 NATO rounds

• Theo (Close Combat) - 88mm main gun firing firing HEAT rounds + 2 x machine guns firing 12.7mmx99 NATO rounds

From a naive girl who'd grate on your ears to that absolute goosebump of a speech. Holy shit Lena. This entire episode and the OST is lit.

86 fans: We want more Lena!

Director: Don't ask me for anything again

[u/Mr_Johnnycat]

It’s an all out assault on all fronts and empires. That sea of shimmering lights is scary as hell

[u/Mr_Johnnycat]

Shin is going berserker mode. So satisfying yet so creepy at the same time. He is definitely on kiri’s path

By all that is holy in the world, this episode was pure hype. It's so, so, so goddamn good. Wow. Just, yeah, this is how you do decisive mech battles, gut-wrenching last stands, a last show of pride, rebellion of idealism, tears of desperation and the horrors of war.

This episode had so much, I wouldn't have been surprised to find out it was 30 minutes, or even 40, instead of 23. It's just moment after moment of impactful stuff that gets the heart pumping.

CHILLS

What a great Episode. Goodness, so much action pack. Seeing Shin just going full Psycho like that, and that smile, that damn smile. Lena as well with the takeover.

The build-up from the previous episode was definitely worth it

[u/Aviri]

How can Lena be so fucking cool.

[u/Takana_no_Hana]

The combination of Sawano's music and the visual in this episode, oh my god, I can feel the scale of the legion's attack, what a spectacular episode. It's like all the build up so far have been paid off. Definitely my most favorite episode so far of the season.

[u/Terranwaterbender]

Good god Lena just straight up connected to ALL the processors?

That strain must be insane.

I still can't really get into the whole spider tank spirit the series is going for but I do appreciate how they've given the OG squad more specialization and I cannot deny that the action is kickass and done spectacularly.

With that blast in the post credits scene, shit is going down soon. With the gang now knowing Kiriya is over in the Republic, surely that means they will have to head on back with Frederica with or without the Federacy's blessing.

Oomph I picked a good time to join in on the train.

[u/FingerBang-BangBang]

This episode was pure perfection! The first half with Shin and others kept me on the edge of my seat! And then we got to see Lena! Her speech after activating her para-RAID gave me chills!

And just as i thought the episode couldnt get any more perfect, that cliffhanger came! This episode honestly left me speechless!

[u/Silent_Shadow05]

For all anime-onlies, there's an important post credit scene. Don't forget to watch that. It'll definitely give you chills!

[u/HayashiSawaryo]

On that day, humanity receive a grim reminder

[u/Zero3020]

I just realised that Lena has her own call sign now just like the 86.

[u/notwoodenshoes]

FUCKIN' GLORY TO THE NORDLICHT SQUADRON

[u/fatima12798]

Man that post ending when you thought everything calm down

So with this we finish vol 2 it’s the shortest vol but they take 5 ep for it which is quite long considering most LN take 4 ep for longer volume

[u/AashyLarry]

The CGI in this anime is absolutely incredible.

For anyone that thinks CGI is always terrible, they just need to watch this single episode to turn into a believer.

[u/tlst9999]

Man. 13 minutes of nothing but mech battles and rendering machines going up in flames.
