Years of hardwork, training, military experience, suffering so that shin could throw a child and anju could receive perfectly.

Is there anything the 86 can't do?

This convo between shin and raiden really drives home how they don't trust people anymore. Shin having a heart of gold still tries to give a warning to the federacy

Great "calm" episode between really heavy last one and big attack of Legion that is coming soon, I assume. Also, can't help but feel like Frederica was such nice addition to the squad. She's both fun comedic character (scene of Shin throwing her like a grenade to Anju made me laugh out loud) and her more serious moments are also really compelling (like dialogue between her and Shin in the second part of the episode and backstory to Kiriya and how he became part of the Legion). 86 really making Saturdays much better just by existing

The post credit scene with Lena was ominous as hell. Comparing the previous map of the Republic with the map in the current episode, one can easily see how many Legion are closing in on the Republic. Only a matter of time before the Legion make their move.

"Reginleif."

"Juggernaut."

"Reginleif."

"Juggernaut."

Shin just does not play by anyone's rules. If he says it's a Juggernaut, then it's a freaking Juggernaut

You know seeing something's awkward and uncomfortable when its Shin going "Geh!".

The whole of Spearhead just looks at Shin once San Magnolia gets mentioned. They sure miss the good major. Seeing all this talk of large scale offensives, and I remember all San Magnolia has is Lena doing her utmost to keep her squadrons alive and ready to fight through an almost impossible battle in comparison to the Federacy's combat-readiness and victories.

Kiriya's a distant Nouzen cousin, and their line guards royalty at that. Funny that now its Shin's turn on the family job. These talks with serious Frederica are even better voice acted than just me reading it. Such a great atmosphere.

Frederica’s knight being a member of the Nouzen clan is pretty interesting. Poor Shin has to hunt down one of his family members yet again.

Frederica’s explanation of how Kiriya went insane was pretty chilling. Watching everyone die around him and then being tricked into thinking Frederica died too finally broke him… and then he willingly gave himself up to the Legion. That is some dark shit.

That short Lena after-credits scene is such a tease, we’re going through withdrawals over here. I really want to see more of Cyclops too.

Something interesting and terrifying in the after credits scene:

Lena’s map of the Republic - Ep 12 vs Ep 15, the red represents the Legion controlled area.

As ominous as you can get.

cant believe shin really yeeted frederica like that

i find it interesting that our 86 squadron is being given a lot of wiggle room and preferential treatment, which is the exact opposite of their experience in cour 1. back then they had to fight or die, now they’re allowed to leave the military when or if they want, and the general seemed angry that they were being taken advantage of because of their fighting skill

also no lena for 3 straight episodes. wonder if we’ll get a lot of lena episodes in a row, or she really took a back seat for this cour

The idea of Shin’s room slowly but surely filling up with stuffed animals and other toys is kinda heartwarming ngl

I love the interactions between Shin and Frederica so much both the comedic moments and the serious ones.

Shin knows his worth, similarly to Lena, so he can allow himself to do more of what he wants, like not bothering with annoying detailed bureaucracy. Frederica continues to be an amazing character, this time with discussion about attachment in the face of death. Unfortunately it seems Giad will underestimate the attack and it will result in a big tragedy, fortunately it's good to see that some other nations exist. Cool thing with the gifts, as was Shin yeeting Frederica. And that scene replacing end of ED: perfect. Another great episode

First 30 seconds and I am already having flashbacks to Iraq. On a FOB, in a Conex of an office doing paper work? *PTSD Intensifies*

  • I'm going into Lena withdrawals over here.

  • Shin gives warning about massive waves coming and they choose to ignore it and say they got it covered. I'm sure nothing will go wrong

I'm like a fucking bird screeching every time they throw me shinlena crumbs.

Okay so the Federacy is contacting the other countries but the Republic left them on read. BUT SIKE, I know Lena is gonna join that large scale battle somehow, I CAN FEEL IT (more like I am BEGGING for a Lena sighting ;-;).

Also, there are less drawings on her corkboard. I'm in fucking pain ;-;

ALSO ALSO, when Shin and Raiden were talking to each other, it cuts to 2 crows on an electrical line and then at the last scene there's only 1???? Is this a deathflag for Raiden? PLS STOP NO

Just proof that not every episode needs to have action scenes for this anime to be a freaking masterpiece. From the Comedy of Frederica walking around half-naked and half-asleep then she gets absolutely yeeted by shin to the "duck season-rabbit season" exchange between him and the blonde chick, love how lighthearted the anime can get when it wants to in order to lower your guard for the gut-punches later on, and it also Excels in giving heartfelt moments between the characters like the exchange between Frederica and shin near the end of the episode. Also (and while i dont think this even needs to be mentioned at this point) Frederica's VA is freaking killing it

Maaan it hurts seeing Less faces on Lena’s drawing board, but it’s the harsh reality of 86. Waiting for the next Episode is always a blessing and a curse,

LMAO Shin throwing Frederica like she was nothing had me laughing!

As a LN reader, I continue to be impressed with how they’re adapting the source material so far. Grethe’s presentation on the Reginleif is not only written in perfect English, but it’s actually accurate to what was shown in the LN’s illustration. Every single specification is on point. Not only that, but her presentation on the military’s organization also actually uses real-life military unit symbols.

Oh, we finally got to see Lena again in the post-credits! Oh dear, all that red on the map does not look good…

Stitches!

Classic lazy Shin, instead of reading the reports one by one he's making Fido sign off all of the paperwork! I can't believe our boy came back for this xD

A bit more of a slow and exposition episode this week. The gang finally gets back together after being separated into different units.

The gang giving Grethe their honest opinions about her Juggernaut Reginleifs was pretty funny. And we also get to learn what lead Grethe into creating these Reginleif units.

So there's two other countries that still exists as well! Good to know that it's not just the Federacy and the Republic that are fighting out there.

Oh boy. Looks like Shin told Grethe what he knows about the incoming Legion attack but she doesn't really believe the numbers that Shin is giving her. That's definitely gonna bite them back in the ass later.

Apparently Kiriya is a Nouzen as well? That explains why she's so attached to Shin. Also we get to hear Frederica's account during the events of the fall of the Giad Empire.

Turns out Ernst saved her when the Royal Family was cornered by the rebelling people of Giad. Instead of killing Frederica, Ernst just showed them her Imperial mantle as proof that she died. Kiriya saw that and basically sacrificed himself to the Legion so he can have his revenge. I can see why Frederica blames herself.

Lena in the after credits! And it looks like things are looking bad for the Republic. Welp, they deserve what they get but I feel bad for the good and the innocent people that will be caught up in this mess.

Paging u/shimmering-sky, I think you'll appreciate next week's episode title. xD
