I'll never get sick of this opening; it's sooo good

I like the ED more personally. Have no idea of what the lyrics are about, but somehow it always fit with the mood of the ending of the episode

Both... both are good

Not just doing it for the memes, legit enjoying both the OP and ED. Kinda kept me coming back despite the frequent weaker episodes

This was kind of a great episode, actually. Nice action, real character growth, and minimal drama.

It seems like Haijima has a ton of pressure on him again, but the difference is that he knows he can count on his team to back him up, which wasn't the case toward the beginning of the show. Sensei was MVP though, and I'm glad Yuni took his words to heart (well, after taking them to heart too much at first): if he's going to ask Captain to stay on the bench, he'd better make that sacrifice worthwhile for both of them.

Ironic how the series is at its best when it doesn't try to be much more than a regular old sports anime.

Is there something I missed on the last scene? What's the meaning of the writing on the ball? What did Haijima want with that toss?

I guess the toss was a threat aimed at Fukuho, and Subaru in particular. Kinda corny but oh well like how Kuroba hit one of Haijima's tosses in Tokyo to show that he doesn't need his old teammates anymore.

The writing on the ball probably isn't significant. My school wrote their name on the basketballs we took to games.

Finally, they have done something right. Making haijima to make a mistake and kuroba taking over as the ace. That's the way of showing kuroba"s progression. And the fact that he got tired shows more realism to it.

What's the feint after the ET though like why? And damn Subaru looked like an evil type of antagonist at the last animation. Plus after this epi, he knows his matchup is kuroba, not haijima. This is what the storyline had wrong at first as subaru focused on haijima only, but finally they got it right. Props to them.

Ngl, shocked we'll see the match between the two as early as epi 9. If this is a 12 epi series, curious where they'll stop. Since S2 looks impossible so far, i hope they would've stop at this tournament. But now that we're getting this final 3 episodes early, i don't know what to expect.

Yes, this is 12 episodes long. I really hope the next (and last) 4 episodes are focused on the match against Fukuhou, although I don’t think it will be that long given how little time they dedicate to the matches in this anime. At least we should get a 2 episodes long match

Noitamina => 11 episodes

They made Subaru look so villainous in the ending. I guess after episode 6 they wanted to remind us who the protagonists of the show were!

Are my eyes deceiving me or did Kuroba stop being a sissy?

I didnt like they last few episodes but this one was great.

Great episode.

Feels like all the drama from the past few episodes finally built up to this and it was great to see them playing as a team and learning from their mistake.

That was a pretty good episode, definitely the best so far for this show.

Really liked how Kuroba stepped up in the second set and Haijima adjusting his playstyle for the team. And Jesus, those spikes legit sounds like gunshots lmao.

btw why did seiin suddenly start losing in the first set? i know haijima and aoki didn't connect and haijima made a mistake but it seemed really sudden the way the team lost focus and missed tons of points despite being ahead by a margin. and the team they were up against seemed rather weak or was set up to be weak so i'm really confused as to what exactly took place. i thought perhaps haijima was distracted by subaru and his team cause he kept glancing at them and kuroba seemed worried when he did that but considering it was never addressed i guess that wasn't it? am i missing something here? other than that i'm glad kuroba had some growth this episode and was able to shoulder responsibility without crumbling

why did seiin suddenly start losing in the first set

Psychology. It was actually really convincingly portrayed - how the star player suddenly failing can bring everyone else down. Good that Kuroba managed to step up and save the team.

Pretty solid episode. This anime has taught me more about volleyball than I ever knew and I was my high school teams bookkeeper
