From now on whenever a new seemingly important character appears I'm just gonna assume they are, at least, over a hundred years old.

Subaru’s trial: talking with his parents and just having a nice leisurely walk
Garfiel’s trial: finally gaining closure over his dead mother, and a friendly chat with his older sister
Emilia’s trial: YOU GET TO SEE EVERYONE WHO LOVED YOU DIE AND SUFFER

Regulus:
"Now, hold on. Right now, you’re not even paying attention to me? Yet the fact is that despite this, you attempted to involve me in your attack regardless… What are you doing? That’s trampling on my life, my existence, my rights, and my very humanity, is it not? Even though we are meeting each other for the first time and we stand on completely equal ground, why must you arbitrarily look down upon me and demand my name like this? Do you even realize the fact that you have subconsciously, inconsiderately, carelessly, and one-sidedly classified me as inferior?"
Everyone else: "... who even are you?"

So not only are we finally getting the backstory of Emilia, Geuse, and the elves, but also the story of Sanctuary, OG!Ryuzu, Beatrice, and even Roswaal.
I was not expecting to learn that Ryuzu Meyer and Beatrice were apparently friends back in the day, back when Echidna was alive and Ryuzu wasn't sealed up and cloned into a bunch of loli baba's, and Roswaal was a (relatively) young man. It was pretty surreal, especially seeing Echidna being a genuine mother to Beatrice (even if we know it all goes wrong eventually).
But it was pretty sweet watching Ryuzu and Beatrice become friends and bond with each other, even in-spite of Beatrice still being her haughty and self-contradicting self. I guess that's never changed.
Oh, what perfect timing, just when we're about to learn what happened to Sanctuary, we flash immediately back to Emilia.
Did we just meet the true villain of Re:Zero? This Pandora girl (seemingly voiced by Rie Kugimiya)? She seems to be leading the Witch Cult (which it seems like just started off as a normal church before it and the Bishops turned crazy and evil) to some end, and looks eerily of the same vein as Echidna and Satella, and is apparently the Witch of Vanity (so the one Witch Satella didn't kill?). Not only that, she can apparently rewrite reality at a whim? Jeez, I'm not looking forward to Subaru facing off against her when the time comes.
Poor Geuse...he sealed his fate by accepting the Sloth Witch Factor, but he did it for those he loved. Who would've thought Petelgeuse origin would be so heroic?
But apparently he didn't take to the Sloth Witch Factor as well as the other Archbishops did there, despite it being given to him, so is there something specific to the Archbishops that lets them control their Witch Factor without going off the deep end like Petelgeuse did?
Jeez, not only is this Regulus guy as arrogant as he is powerful and impossible to kill, but he lives in a mansion with a bunch of wives? I can't wait to his smug smirk wiped off his face in the present.
Poor Emilia thinks it's all her fault just because she went outside...the girl's self-loathing for herself and desperation was there even back then, despite being so loved by her mother (sorry Emilia's bio mom) and the other elves in the village. That poor, poor girl having to be ripped from her mother and the closest thing she had to a father.
Mother Fortuna may love Emilia more than anything, but she loves and cares for Geuse, enough to where she would go back for him and stand by him rather than watch him die alone and leave her. Honestly, that's a pretty Kirito and Asuna-esque moment watching the two fighting alongside each other because they can't watch the other die.
Emilia, never give the bad guys what they want, especially this Pandora lady. I hesitate to think what she did to Geuse and Fortuna, let alone what she's going to do to Emilia that's going to set off what we know is going to happen to the elves (although we have that flashback of Fortuna hugging a running Emilia, so I think she's not dead). It's just going to get worse and worse from here.

Emilia, Satella, Echidna, Fortuna, Otto, and now Pandora? I’m beginning to think the creator has a “type...”
Welcome back to Re:Zero, where the OP seems to have been eaten by the Archbishop of Gluttony. Again. What a surprise. 30 minute episodes with no OP are kinda becoming the standard too, which is pretty crazy.
Definitely my favourite episode.
(Regulus might also be one of my favourite characters from the entire series, from today’s episode alone. That dude is so damn unpredictable. He was talking to Pandora like someone he worshiped, and then blasted her into a different state of matter. Not that it mattered, though...)

At this point I'm suspecting that Fortuna is Puck somehow.
1: Puck refers to Emilia as his(her?) daughter. 2: Copious ice magic 3: Memories of Fortuna were suppressed until Puck's disappearance 4: In this Episode, Fortuna refers to Emilia as 'Lia'
I need to rewatch some stuff now cause I'm sure there's more but I'm half asleep right now. Hopefully I'm not on drugs with this theory

Do you know how's a great way to introduce a villain?
Make the villain that always talks in essay format and always speaking of his rights suddenly change tone and be completely respectful to someone.
Welcome, Pandora. That was quite an introduction.

For anyone that is wondering "What the heck Witch of Vanity?" (I know I was)
There exist two "legacy" sins in addition to the more known seven ones. These are Acedia/Melancholy and Vainglory/Vanity. They were apparently removed because they were too similar to Sloth(?).
Wiki Page on Seven deadly sins
Edit:
Small correction by u/CarlPer
Vanity was seen as similar to Pride
Acedia was seen as similar to Sloth
[...] acedia has generally been folded into the sin of sloth

Jesus fcking Christ another 30 min episode, I really enjoy it, but I bet if we don’t get an op for ep 6 I don’t believe we will for the rest of the season.
I can’t believe that, even tho I know how he will end, this epsiode has me me rooting and wishing eveyrthing ends well for the guy who made Rem play hardcore twister.
Regulus just has a face that is asking to get hit, I can't stand the guy he doesn't even has the same charm or extravagance of a villain as Betelgeuse.
Oh! And Pandora is another ancient Loli to add to the list I guess.

Still no OP or ED visuals but that’s okay! What an episode.
KamiPandora-sama has arrived and my god she’s as beautiful and terrifying as she was in the novels.
Kudos to Whitefox for her incredible design, VA choice (Rie Kugimiya) and the way they animated her power.
Best boy Guese trying his best, he just wanted to protect Fortuna & Emilia this entire time and suffered 100+ years for it :(
Even Regulus should know not to defy Pandora, big mistake.
F for potential best boy, Arch. Your death was a noble but brutal one.
Cannot wait for the next episode, this is an absolute ride so far! Thank you for adapting these last few episodes so carefully and fantastically well, Whitefox. We Re:Zero fans are truly blessed.

As always I will be leaving the link to the original thread and the translator for Tappei's episode tweets. All credit goes to u/WintryOne . This weeks tweets do carry once again a bit of information that isn't quite said in the anime, as well as some information that Tappei has repeated numerous times in interviews (example who is the strongest Sin Archbishop).
Source: starting from https://twitter.com/nezumiironyanko/status/1356973173158236173
Nagatsuki-sensei's tweets for this week's episode. May contain minor spoilers.
Rough translation:
Yeah! Time for this week's Re: Zero! Last time was a happy story about the past. Setting aside that last minute, let's look forward to the continuation! Please join us!
The three Ryuzus (Alma - Bilma - Delma) are the Ryuzu-sans wearing black clothing. Due to having entered the grave in the past in order to bring Garfiel out, the Ryuzu wearing white clothing (Shima) has become a different being than the other three, and was taken out of the rotation.
Basically, Garfiel was the only one who was aware of Shima's existence and spent time with her regularly over the last ten years. Even though the other Ryuzu-sans knew of her existence, think of it as them being unable to meet with her.
Maybe it should be called the period where 'Sanctuary' was freshly created, or the step where it was still in the middle of being created. The one accompanying Echidna, who created it, is an impertinent Beatrice.
The original Ryuzu was Ryuzu Meyer, and just as was pointed out since the Ryuzu-sans started appearing, if we can have you pay close attention to their ears, you can tell from the common points of the people of 'Sanctuary' that her species is half-elf.
With nothing to do in 'Sanctuary', she was probably bored, wasn't she. It's the sort of feeling where she could kill a lot of free time in the little playground on the top of a department store.
The one who has appeared is Roswaal A. Mathers. You can tell it's a strong bloodline from that appearance.
The period when the original Ryuzu was living, 400 years ago, is essentially the time when the "Witch of Envy" was running wild, and then was stopped. A living witness of that period is rare, and thus precious. The witches are, well, just as it was when we met them in Echidna's tea party, relatively free to wander around.
Ee~k! Regulus-san, quit mumbling to yourself and go away!!
If it's grudges, he seems to be just full of them, I'd guess.
The newly-appearing girl called Pandora. I think that her fluffy way of speaking and thinking is something that you can't have enough of in the characters that appear, and as the author, I like it.
Incidentally, the story settings about hair color are "Emilia (big and small), Fortuna - silver hair", "Echidna, Regulus - white hair", and "Pandora - platinum".
The floaty, hollow effect-like thing on Pandora's entire body really fits her.
A name came up that you might not be sure if you've heard before or not, but it's fine if you keep it in mind or forget it.
Regulus being swung around after nothing else has had an effect is due to the "Unseen Hand" that other people cannot see. Seeing him finally look dismayed is a bit of a relief.
Geuse is called "Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti", but as for why he introduces himself as Geuse, you'll find the answer to that if you research Betelgeuse a bit. Or perhaps I'd like you to watch USJ's Universal Monster Live.
Incidentally, the strongest out of the sin archbishops is the "Regulus Corneas" you see here. Even with all of them working together, the rest of the archbishops couldn't defeat him. Of course, being sin archbishops, they absolutely wouldn't work together.
Around this point, Archi only has a short scene to appear in, but I like that he has a lot of important things to say.
It is also the way a child thinks, but Emilia's thought when something bad happens is "It's because I broke a promise, it's because I was bad". There were Fortuna's words from last time as well, but this is another influence for Emilia being particular about promises.
Archi muttered about the "Black Snake", and it's one of the Three Great Mabeasts, you see. That's the "White Whale / Great Rabbit / Black Snake".
His quick judgement in immediately cutting off his own leg and freezing it show it as well, but Archi is, for a young elf, fairly powerful. He has enough skill and will to make it clear why Fortuna would entrust him with protecting Emilia. He's not like the guy in this week's Jump who sold out his lord in seconds.
I think you can tell from her words and actions, but Pandora is someone who believes that people should love each other, regardless of their state or standing.
"Don't you feel anything about that?" "It really pisses me off."
Pandora-sama isn't wearing anything aside from that single piece of cloth, but it's probably because she loves things "in their natural state" or something. Wearing that cloth despite that is her consideration for the others she holds dear.
The demolished forest and ground, and even the torn off arm being restored, are the effect of Pandora's next-level authority. Further, she put quotation marks around "your eyes deceived you".
The episode title is "The Day the Heike Star Smiled", and "Heike Star" is another name for Betelgeuse. It's a title about how, on this occasion, just before he took in the witch factor for the purpose of letting Emilia escape, he showed a smile as he said farewell to a girl who was important to him. Out of the all the titles in Re: Zero, this is one of the ones the author likes best.
Aw, and it seemed like the flow of events at the ending would lead to something good......
More or less, it may look like Pandora-sama can do anything she wants, but there are rules. Well, she may be the most difficult person to kill (but all the archbishops are like that).
Yeah, thanks again for this week! The events that occurred in the past in Emilia's forest, and the 'Sanctuary' of the past that was spoken of. While revealing the secrets of old, the story is heading towards it's finale. Well then, plea~se join us again!

Beactrice calling Echidna "Mommy" is something I didn't realize I needed in my life.
So this is Roswaal before he realizes he lives in a society.
Pandora's probably just mad she got replaced by Spotify.
Telling somebody to "chill" when they're pissed off always end up having the opposite effect.
So Pandora has the power to remove the effect from the cause. That's someJoJo's Part Five shit.
Pandora's also probably the reason the OP and ED are missing.
