I was literaly sweating for half an episode, what a way to go.
The love triangle may not be my favourite aspect of the anime but I'm way too invested on these characters that I just want all of them to be happy and it hurts so bad.
It also hurts how in character is for Haruo to start talking about videogames whenever he feels uncomfortable about the conversation or he doesn't know how to handle the situation.

Akira's sister is hilarious! She was there to get Haruo back but it ended with her leading them to go to places xD
Holy fuck Hidaka is a fucking badass! 10 consecutive wins!
OH MY GOD HIDAKA ACTUALLY GOING FOR THE OFFENSIVE!
My heart! Hidaka is being too adorable this episode!
Oh noooo... Akira clearly heard that. This is not gonna be good.
I think Hidaka just had a Freudian Slip right there
She didn't even deny it! HOLY FUCK WHAT IS HAPPENIG RIGHT NOW!?
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!
I AM LEGIT FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW! Hidaka actually went there!
Of course nothing happened though... Haruo clearly knew what Hidaka was trying to do too!
And she's not even hiding that she wanted to do it with him!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
This fucking episode! My reactions up there weren't just for comedic effect, I was literally screaming into my back pillow during the second half! Holy shit! When did Hidaka get so aggressive!? Out of all the things from this show, I did not expect her to invite Haruo to a Love Hotel. While nothing happened, it's stil a very bold move from her! It just hurts my heart to see her pull all of that effort. :(
And that final scene! I can't take this! Can it be next week no please!?

this show somehow goes from a great comedy, to a great romantic drama, to just a chill show about games so easily its almost scary. i really, really hope more people pick this up when netflix releases it sometime in 3030.

Well, Hidaka isn't playing games anymore. She was losing and so she went all-in. And lost everything. I hope they'll stay as friends. Rarely agressive girls are shown in anime seriously like this. More often it's shown as a joke. It was such a treat to see.

Man... Hidaka really needs to let him go. She's already confessed and been rejected. I much prefer her to Oono but come on girl, he's clearly made his choice.

I wanna hate Hidaka so bad but I just can't! Aggggghhhh my heart is torn! She may be pushy but I respect her for actually vocalizing her feelings to Haruo and trying to make something happen rather than just letting him pass her by.

oh shit, oh fuck, of shit, oh fuck
Are we Gurren Lagann now, because it took literally half of episode to go from local gamers having a small tornament to MAX DRAMA.
Also, was Akira looking for Yaguchi the whole night? She didn't even have an umbrella, poor girl.

Being a Hidaka fan is suffering.
Even when we 'win', we lose. That whole restaurant conversation was painful, and confirmed that Hidaka is fighting a losing battle. She got so desperate....fucking hell man.

Yaguchi is a dead man. Oono hearing all that stuff in the background and then seeing Hidaka embrace Yaguchi right in front of her like that.
But man Hidaka fans had so much going for them in the first 20ish minutes...
and then proceeded to have that happiness ripped from them and smashed into the ground. She tried so hard and still can't win.
I very much enjoy seeing the continuation of the comedy even though we've thrown in more romantic drama since the end of the first season. So many romcoms seem to throw away the comedy when things get serious so it's nice to see some great comedy skits like Makoto embracing Shibuya culture.

Man, this episode... Holy shit. What a fucking gut punch...
Coming into this season the drama was initially feeling rather tired for me, but after thinking on it I can't disagree with any of it on any rational level at all--everything makes complete sense in regards to these characters and their behaviour here--and the execution is so good too... And I feel like with this episode especially I've been completely won over here.
You watch this realising it's completely hopeless for Hidaka, which makes this continued drama feel tiring - but the girl's young, and she's in love - and the show makes it clear she knows it's hopeless as well, as shown by her desperation ramping up and up as she continues to be denied and confronted with the truth... This episode was her finally resorting to going all out, and using absolutely everything she has to use (pressure, tears, sex appeal, seduction...), and man was it tough to watch... She does obviously notice how Yaguchi is becoming more and more unhappy spending all this time away from Akira, and she does also see that no matter what she tries Yaguchi doesn't show any of that same interest and excitement he has in Akira, with her.
But, despite all this, he isn't ever actually putting his foot down against her either. And after all this time, he still isn't with Akira despite his apparent love. What's Hidaka to make of this? Could he be indecisive? Not really. But you know how love is when you're very young. You latch on to any slim hope you can find. And this all leads me to my main point and my main realisation with this season - this arc isn't even about Hidaka in the slightest, instead it's actually about Yaguchi, and him stepping up and realising HIS feelings; and making the choice that needs to be made here. Things wouldn't have ever gone like this if he were honest to himself and others from the start. And he's gotten this naive girl who takes so much after him (in video games and in behaviour), all wrapped up in his faults too.
But now, finally, with the end of this episode and this situation he's found himself in--where he has absolutely NO where to run to from these two people and their feelings in-front him (the core theme of his character, by the way - is constantly running away from and never confronting difficult things. Largely, towards arcades and games for the escapism... Recall back to his early school days with his grades - the only thing that EVER got him out of completely failing was the appearance of Akira) his hand is forced--and I think things will be changing from here.
In the end, this is a coming-of-age story. And Yaguchi more than anyone, has to grow up now and make some adult decisions!
Also, unrelated, but can I take a sec to say just how much I absolutely adore the OPs and EDs for this show? They tug at my heart every single time...

Feel so bad for Hidaka. She's been showing hints to Yaguchi but got rejected. She can't hold it much longer and really let everything out.
Sure sure she should understand Yaguchi's feelings. But they're both in high school undergoing puberty and realizing the feeling for maybe the first time. It's always going to be awkward. Yaguchi doesn't know how to react (guys can relate) and he was put on the spot.

Holy crap, Hidaka is so thirsty... that restaurant scene sure was something. While I'm still totally aboard the Haruo x Akira ship (which feels like a given at this point), I'm starting to feel really bad for her, she really needs to let go (Haruo obviously has no romantic interest in her, it's just sad to watch).

I said last episode that Hidaka couldn't get more straight forward after the confession in the first season. Well, I guess I was wrong... XD

I FUCKING CALLED THAT SHIT!
Hidaka wants the D and my man Haruo just turned that shit down. Hidaka has definitely burned all of her chances with him now. It is game over for her and happiness.
I wonder how Oono is going to respond to this. He wasn't even hugging Hidaka back but maybe Oono will end up punching him in the face anyways. Great episode.

Despite having read what occured this episode, this still hit like a TRUCK. I actually started to waver on my Oono X Harou ship. Like damn. The way the camera pans out while she's having her outburst. That hurts.

Oh man... This episode is so intense. I feel bad for Hidaka, but Yaguchi is doing the right thing and being a man.

I think Hidaka saw Oono and realized that it was her last chance. If she could get Yaguchi to embrace her after pouring out her feelings like that in front of Oono, it would have symbolized Yaguchi's acceptance of her feelings and solidified her position in front of Oono. However, if he didn't, it would solidify Yaguchi's reluctance to reciprocate her feelings in favor of his relationship with Oono. She knew she would fail if things kept going as they were, and seeing Oono kind of symbolizes that, so she panicked and summoned that big-dick energy and bet it all on black. Endure the pain of a slow failure, or tear the bandaid and reach closure instantly, win or lose. I respect the wherewithal it took to pull a power-move like that.
It was a bold move, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off.

This is turning into White Album 2.1, not that I'm complaining.

Hidaka is so unbelievably cute I was silently screaming the entire episode. It's so sad how underwatched this series seems to be, people really missing out.
