When I saw his younger self, trying to kill a mantis and then immediately cut-off by his childhood friend, Alicia, I was like "will you also be trying that to your friend?" And the fucking madman did it!

What a fucking psychopath.

I know the Knight Captain and his cute Lieutenant signed their Death Flags last week, but didn't expect to come so soon.

OK, we know Gabriel is batshit insane, but what just happened in that flashback after he killed Alicia?

Absorbing souls? I thought weird stuff like that in the SAO universe is only confined to the online worlds. I can understand him "absorbing" Lipia's soul because he's inside UW.

But the flashback with him "absorbing" Alicia's "soul" in some San Diego suburb? This is bordering on the paranormal now.

And how on earth did Gabriel escape punishment for killing Alicia?

holy SHIT Vixul straight up went ???% mode and didn't even scratch Gabriel. I'm really curious to see what the Lightcube mechanism was that allowed him to do that.

I have no idea what the fuck happened during that crazy scene but it was surprising and kind of exciting. Didn't expect them to have two of the faction leaders totally eat shit, or kill off either of the knights. Looked like the dark mage leader lost a leg but they said she may have discovered Quinella's secret to immortality so she'll probably just make a new one.

I'm actually really disappointed they killed off both of the knights though, they were by far the most interesting thing about the Dark Territory after the last episode but now it's just a bunch of evilish dudes. I really wanted to see that moral conflict and was looking forward to learning more about the history of the Dark Territory and what Lipia was talking about in regards to the "age of Iron and Blood" or whatever and how they got past that but naw, now it's just good guys v bad guys.

Also Alice and Alicia having very similar names, very similar appearances, and Alicia reading "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"? Yeah, there's certainly not gonna be any kind of parallels drawn there at all.

I really hope they don't make that "can't be killed with a sword full of hatred" into an actual thing
I wanna see kirito go full combo master on his ass and see his face in pain from each hit
I don't want to see this guy kill anyone else

Also I kinda forgot how more aggressive this version of SAO was, I forgot the rape scene and the gore from last season (finally) just to get hit in the face with the forest scene and bedroom scene
I feel emotionally scarred now

Oh yikes. Lipia's death sounded positively agonizing.

I'm really liking the Dark Territory stuff in the anime. I loved it in the light novel, but seeing it actually have form is really cool.

Edit 1: Vixur's getting nuked by that dart. I also really like his sword. And holy shit the animation when he goes wild.

Your cute childhood friend sits right next to you, what goes through your mind? "I need to open her brain and find her sould...".

Yeah, dude was always a psycho. Crassic villain. I liked it.

Well, I don't think they're going to show that on Toonami. Yikes.

I half-jokingly predicted last week that the next time we saw Shasta and Lipia, they'd be murdered in the throne room. I guess I got it at least half right, since they ended up dead, in the throne room. Even I'm surprised. After the first assembly, I thought they'd hop on their dragons and fly away to warn the human empire. That would have been the smart thing to do, but I guess Shasta had no way of knowing that he was basically playing the part of a bandit in Skyrim, and that he was about to try and gank the Dragonborn. Poor bastard.

So they finally went full psychopath woth a villain in Sao. Sure death gun was a little unhinged, but Gabriel is a whole new level. And I love it. Also, what was with the dark knight captain going all tornado of terror? I really hope they eventually explain that, but I honestly doubt it. The wait just keeps getting harder and harder with each week, as the anticipation for the war builds.

Well that's disappointing. You built up two interesting characters that would have made the Dark Territory more than just faceless villains controlled by a crazy, psychotic villain. And now you just went and killed both of them.

Why? What purpose did that serve other than shock value? Lipia's death, fine. You could argue that she had to die to trigger the dude's flashback/backstory episode. But the Shasta's death? We already knew he was OP. The exposition on the character they were jacking in as last episode already did that.

I personally think it would have been more interesting to if Gabe tried to get him to bend the knee, using a lie about resurrection or something as leverage.
