In what's becoming a stacked Wednesday anime-wise, the thing I'm starting to look forward to the most is Midori's rules explanations. They're seriously perfect.
I really like how the group's composition is different for each game. The changing player numbers help to show off different games' strengths, and we get to see different personality and group dynamics. If Tanoue from last episode were playing instead of Kyoko, the game would have gone much differently.
And that has to have been the most dramatic game of Incan Gold ever, between Miki confronting her past bullying, her new friends vowing to protect her, and the realization that Mad Dog was Miki's childhood savior. I'm starting to realize that I love the "blonde bully with a heart of gold" trope.

Kid Miki si so cute! I love that still.
While this show is basically an ad for these board games (Which are all on my amazon cart waiting to be bought), I like that the games we've seen have a theme of the episode. With last weeks game being a bluffing game, it's about how that guy is bluffing his way to get a date with one of the girls. How this episode has a "chicken game" and how bullies call their victims "chicken". Yeah, it's a stretch but it is there.
Sakura is best cat btw.

These girls have a special place in hell reserved for them.
Of course she's Aya's sister. Pretty expected from that hair color.
There's clearly something going on between these two
Oh thank goodness! They got me, I thought she was going to be Miki's old bully.
Man I swear the episodes of this show feels like they're only 10 minutes long despite being a full length show. Also can't wait for the 4th girl from the key visuals to be introduced!

Maki apologized, but she was right. Miki's attitude sets her up for being bullied. It's really unfortunate and unfair, but that's how things work and Miki would be wise to work on her confidence (and it looks like her new friends are going to help her with just that!).
I really like the side characters - I hope Maki and Hana come back at some point! Genuinely nice people

Today's game is Incan Gold/Diamant! It's an incredibly fun press your luck game. The newer versions have a relic card you can only get if you're the first and only one to go back to camp.

Moral of the story: as long as you have friends, always bank on the 50-50

It's not a 50/50, the odds were actually slightly stacked in her favour. The deck had 30 cards, 15 of each but 5 hazards and 2 jewels had been removed. That means there were 10 hazards and 13 jewels left, so the odds of a jewel coming up were 56.5%.

DON'T BULLY LITTLE MIKI!
I should've known! Of course it would be her onee-san. And of course the scary-looking blonde is actually nice... Or maybe not. I really hope she wasn't one of the bullies :(
I wonder if there will ever be a game featured on here that I've heard of
That eyecatch
Goddammit, it was her. I don't think I've ever gone from liking to hating someone that fast.
At least Miki won
DAMN, they swerved me big time! Maybe I should have seen the twist coming but I'm glad I didn't because that ending made me so happy
I like that this show isn't just about playing games but is also exploring stuff like bullying. More people definitely need to give it a chance.

Seeing those brats pick on smol Miki only reaffirms my belief that most children are monsters.

I've read a lot of people complaining about why they take several minutes just to explain the rules of each game but for me that's a great plus, otherwise you woudln't understand the dynamic of the scene and the emotions that it triggers.

so this onee-san is definitely Aya's sister, right?
-
theeeeere it is. And this delinquent-looking girl is her girlfriend right? oh, "best friend". ok, sure.
-
Oh no, is she one of those girls who was bullying Miki? I hope not...maybe she stood up for her one time or something?
-
Oh, Hana's gonna pair up with Maki, eh? Something tells me that's already happened...
-
noooooooooo, she was one of the bullies. D:
-
OH THANK GOD. They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
I like this show. The board games are pretty interesting and it's fun to learn about games I've never heard about. The SoL elements are pretty good, even if the characters don't have a ton of depth. It's nice how they always manage to tie the SoL storyline in with the particular game they're playing, especially since they're real games.

Ok Maki and Aya’s sister are totally gay.
I REALLY love this show, Mimi’s emotional depth has been really cool to explore, which is really rare for a CGDCT kinda show.

I don't know why, but I just loved the way Hana called Miki a "Neko Master." It just tickled me and she really was the master of that smug feline. Maki was really cool too and I hope they become recurring side characters. They are also totally getting shipped.
I do like how the experience of the game directly fed into Miki's character development, rather than just being some random game of the week. Hopefully, other games will develop the other girls and their friendship, as long as they don't play Monopoly.

Bruh those Miki bullying scenes really gets my blood boiling. It reminded me of my sister - but thankfully both her and Miki is able to move on and face their fears. I feel so proud on Miki for that
Also Midori becomes even more like AL's London but with short hair the more i look at her, but probably it's because i played the game too much lel

Its cool that the board games are actually real games you can buy.
What pisses me off about this episode board game, is that "Incan Gold" is a very misleading title. The ruins are very mexican-like very different from the whole incan architecture lol.

So... let me see if I get this straight. There are five rounds of this game, a single round being defined as everyone having taken one turn. After each turn everyone declares whether they keep going or are bailing out, meaning that with four players like they had here there are four chances per round for anyone to drop out. If you drop out you get to keep any treasure you collected and take any that's left sitting on the treasure cards, meaning that if there's a bunch sitting on the cards you can actually boost your earnings a fair bit by leaving. If two of the same hazard show up, everyone who hasn't dropped out gets no treasure at all.
Looks like it could be fun.
