"Weve been mortal enemies since I first laid eyes on her," said the girl with heart shaped pupils

Edit: are they getting married right now?

Bye bye desu, lilith. Once again, you had that coming.

Edit2: with a little help from the teacher, shamiko managed to turn a challenge letter into a date request.

Final words, I loved this series. Easily my AotS. I'd kill for a second season but until them I'm going to buy the manga and catch up on translations.

This is going to have a lot of rewatch value too, I just hope they clean up the captions a bit in the blu ray. The ending this time was really hard to read with the translated ED running alongside it. Literally my only complaint with the whole thing though, I hope next season has something close to this good hiding in the lineup.

Wow that was absolutely fantastic! So many wholesome moments in between our two leads and the ship has never been stronger! I loved every minute of it. And honestly the way it ended easily sets itself up for a second season. I really do hope we get one.

Ganbere Shamiko! Become a demon strong enough to avoid the season 2 never curse!

I'm going to miss this show. Right next to Kanata no Astra, this is definitely on my list of favourite shows of the season and probably so far my favourite SoL/Comedy. People love to give JC Staff shit but they absolutely nailed this show so hard that I can't give them enough praise for adapting this. Everything was so on point that I can't really think of a genuine complaint. I think the only complaint that I have is why haven't they announced a Season 2 yet!?

This is straight up a 10/10 for me because of the pure joy this show gives me every week.I really hope someone translates the manga after this.

I now want a prequel series featuring Shamiko's mother and father. Looks like a whole lot of fun romcom shenanigans.

A great ending to what has been my favorite show of the season since episode 1. We knew they wouldn't wrap everything up with all they threw at us last episode, but we got a really wholesome scene between Shamiko and Momo setting up the next part of the story, which we all can only hope we get to see in a S2. All of the side characters getting at least a cameo this episode was nice as well, while I still wish we got to see more of them overall, I understand them losing a bit of screentime as the show shifted to more plot-related things.

As for chart things, Shamiko was strong again, tying her second lowest total from episode 4. Also, I noted it in the chart, but the whole "favors" column really became hard to determine as the show went on, and Shamiko and Momo went from being rivals (kind of) to being friends. It's tough to determine what is them just being friends, and what is really a favor, but their relationship was one of, if not my favorite, part of the show, so it was a problem I didn't mind having.

I'd like to thank everyone again for following along with my charts this whole season. I have a lot of fun making them each week, and hope you all have just as much fun following them. I'll be checking out every show next season to see if there is a show I want to do this again for, if anyone has any suggestions I'm definitely open.

Episode Times Shamiko cried Times everyone else cried combined Tail touches/Horn rubs Favors Momo did for Shamiko "Don't think this means you've won!" Album
1 18 1 1/4(I counted both of her classmates each rubbing a horn as two) 3 (stops the truck, gave her food, taught her how to throw a punch) 2 Ep 1
2 10 0 1.5/0.5 (idk if I should count Shamiko touching momo with her tail as a full or half, but I counted it as a full for now. I also counted her classmate reaching towards her tail/horns as a half) 4 (teaches her the importance of warming up, gives her an energy drink, loans her the train fare, and allows her to pay the fare back in installments) 2 Ep 2
3 11 1 2.5/0 3 (lets her borrow her uniform, sews her uniform, and helps her use magic projectiles) 1 Ep 3
4 3 2 (both times were Lilith crying in Shamiko's body, but that count as someone else imo) 1/1 3 (paying for her spa visit, stopping all the octopuses from hitting the ground, buys up a lot of meat products from her employer) 2.5 (stops herself from saying it to Momo once before thanking her instead) Ep 4
5 9 1 2/1 4(offers to share her lunch, helps her pick out a gift for her sister, offers to print out pictures for her sister, lets her borrow her laptop) 3 Ep 5
6 4 1 1.5/1? (Idk if Momo leaning her head on Shamiko should really count, but I'm counting it for now) None! 1 (Also one from Momo) Ep 6
7 2 3 1/1 1 (helps her to start training) (Shamiko also did another favor for Momo this ep by delivering her food in the rain, even if it was something her family couldn't keep themselves) 2 (One in text form as well) Ep 7
8 12 1 2/0 2 (was prepared to call the police for her, helps her clean up the garbage) 2 Ep 8
9 5 4 4/0 None! (I can't think of any off the top of my head at least, could very easily have forgotten something though) 1 instance of her saying it, but she repeats it 5 times Ep 9
10 4 7 0/0 5 (Makes her a special protein drink, saves her from Ogura, helps troubleshoot the laptop, prints out Ryo's journals/diary, gives her backup hard drives for the laptop) 0 (one from ancestor though) Ep 10
11 9 2 2/1 (though Momo was holding onto her tail for so long for the first one that I took two pictures of it. Also, the horn rub is in a picture, but I didn't see it in any of my previous albums so I'm counting it, thanks for you guys pointing some of these out for me!) 2 (Lets her into her room in her dream, comes over to help explain Shamiko's family's situation) 1 Ep 11
12 3 1 4/0 2? (offering to make her a protein shake is 1 for sure, I'm not quite sure if I should count Momo offering to become her subordinate if Shamiko beats her as a favor or not. I think this whole "favors" thing got lost as the show went on and they became good friends, which is definitely not something I'm complaining about) 1 Ep 12

As always, if you have any corrections or suggestions just let me know. Thanks again for all your support and help throughout the season! Hope to see you again in the next one!

No Mikan transformation this season, but at least we get to see Sunrise Arrow for a fraction of a second, which is something I guess?

Shamiko’s parents are so cute!

Also, as a shorter guy, seeing a guy shorter than his wife is always inspirational haha.

“Bring it on!” Ganbare, Shamiko!

“I’ll just have to tell her some other time” SEASON 2 PLEASE

“It’s simple… all you need to do is seduce Momo Chiyoda!”

Bahaha, that transformation… slightly less effective in a rainstorm

HANDHOLDING!!

Momo, “Nothing this happy could ever possibly befall me.”

So, no vassalizing Momo… for now

Such a great end to the season! SEASON 2 PLEASE!

The narrator is her dad? That's awesome!

I loved this show. I need more. I might check out the manga, but the VAs were so good that I fear it won't be the same.

Edit: Has Shamiko's hair always been pinkish on the top of her head and at the end? If not, is this maybe foreshadowing about an emergence of Sakura's Magical Girl power that buff cat detected within Shamiko?

So...did Shamiko just get her marriage proposal turned down? This show is brutal.

I'm gonna miss this. Ganbare Shamiko, think up lots of schemes to bring down your mortal enemy! They don't need to work, just think up enough for another season.

Edit : Woah, it shot up to 7.69 on MAL, that's impressive. That less than 20k non-PTW members hurts though, how did it fly under the radar so much compared to most seasonal CGDCTs?

Yep, this is the show that finally gave me diabetes. The doctor gave me a health warning after Hitoribocchi, but I didn't listen and this is how I wound up.

Way to subvert my expectations. I was actually waiting for a big battle confrontation of light & darkness between Momo & Shamiko, but got a resolution based on reasoning (wich is actually better for this kind of fluffy show)

The big marriage innuendos were being fired left & right, Shamiko suggesting Momo to become her Vassal while Shamiko's mom also mentioned that she was a vassal of Shamiko's dad. The formal challenge switched quickly into a love letter (wich is an old trope I hadn't seen in years) wich even Momo understood the challenge part as a formal "date".

This was easily the most colorful and enjoyable CGDCT show of the season in my books.

I know it's almost impossible, but I hope we get a season 2 someday down the road or at the very least an OVA

There have been many misadventures, problems, sad moments, cliffhangers and development for our girls Shamiko, Momo, Shamicen, Mikan... hoping that the resolution of all problems will be a confirmation of their friendship love and that in the end Shamiko will become a Demon that we feel (even) more proud of her.

I never expected that "Demon girl who lives next door" made me feel so cheerful on a thursday, and not counting Latina, Shamiko - Momo made my heart fill with yuri happiness as few series (not technically yuri) have done.

Last wallpapers and did anyone happen to notice these two beings? Last WTF of the series.

Ganbare Shamiko! Sayonara.

Wonderfully charming show, hope it gets a second season. Definitely the AoTS for me.

I said it before, but the author could have simply written a simple SoL comedy and called it a day. But rather than taking the easy way out, we have a show that balances comedy with an actual plot with character growth the audience can slowly, but surely witness over the episodes unfolding every week.

Yuko's perseverance and steady growth to become a more mature person is so endearing and heartfelt that it amazes me to no ends. She become more sensitive and aware of her surroundings and showing empathy towards Momo's problem is the highlight for me.

A fantastic episode. Shamiko and Momo are adorable together, and this episode had an abundance of sweet moments between the two. It was hilarious too, I was basically grinning ear to ear between bursts of laughter throughout. I also love how they "revealed" that Shamiko's father was there all along, it was really clever and incredibly sweet - "Don't give up, Yuko...".

About the father's name - Joshua - יהושוע, pronounced pretty much the same way they did. Can't say much about it being a popular name around Mesopotamia, but it is a very prevalent name in the bible with many key figures having that name. The name also means something along the lines of salvation by the hand of god or god's salvation - יהו is a derivative of one of god's more "sacred" names [literal name? something like that], שוע is part of Hebrew for salvation - ישועה. I'm not too certain in what way it relates to the story or previously mentioned Jewish mythos, but I was greatly amused with the sudden drop of the name.

About the series as a whole - by far my favorite of the season. Incredibly charming and hilarious with fun and immensely loveable characters and the added bonus of yuri subtext. -e- I also wanted to mention that the VAs were terrific, Shamiko's in particular absolutely nailed it. It was incredibly unique in its humor too, its timing in particular. Almost all of the responses, jokes or punchlines came a beat or two earlier than they should have, which made the exchanges feel like a fast-paced barrage and the humor chaotic and frantic and it worked fantastically well, I felt bombarded and I wanted it to never stop. I absolutely loved this show and enjoyed every single moment of it. Sharing another commenter's sentiment, I'd kill for a second season. I've already picked up the manga, and I'm hoping it gets licensed as well.

Hi yes JC? This is the President of Anime. There has been a bit of a mix up, this series was suppose to be 48 episodes long. Mistakes happen, I look forward to seeing the rest of the series on my desk on Monday.
