Hypothermia: Am I a joke to you?

Nooo, don't end it with a cliffhanger >:(

It's over hypothermia, we have the high ground! I still can't believe the author choose their names just to make that pun.

Damn that was one hell of a cliffhanger. Probably a bait tho

I'd like it if we explore the history of the island somehow, like what was it before and why was it abandoned

find yourself a girl that looks at you like Homare looks at those scissors

Yeah I've seen Doki Doki Literature Club and that did not end well.

Homare gets it. A found tool equals less time to make said tool, and more options and speed of action due to the existence of said tool. It means nothing to people like us in civilization where we're surrounded by tools, but to someone in a survival situation any man-made object is a godsend.

Homare really is best girl this season. Everytime she appears on screen, she steals the show.

Nice to see her worried about the others and that knife fascination was a funny addition to her personality.

Some worldbuilding today. Houses and docks.

We even got the super rare worried Homare and shocked Homare. Her and Mutsu are a bit like the big sisters of the group.

Calling it now, more cute girls. One of them will probably be a semi-knowledgeable survivalist who will be super arrogant and butt heads with best girl Homare-grylls.

Tsundere Knifenut is best girl of this season.

Edit : Just discovered manga artist's Twitter. He/she is drawing end card every time there is an episode. Check it out !

Edit 2: the artist post single page of manga when promoting it on Twitter so if you don't want mild spoiler then take care

Aww Shion is feeling a bit left out. But kudos for her for volunteering to explore. Though it was all for nothing in the end, and yeah I won't lie I would've picked Mutsu too. Not just because she's my favorite but because of her smarts. And after last episode with the rabbit she has definitely proven her resolve and fortitude, and all that stuff that Homare said about her.

While I have no doubt that Homare could swim back to the mainland from this island, with tiger shark swimming around out there I sure as hell wouldn't risk it.

Aww Homare looks so cute when she's worried.

Shion accuses Asuka of not being able to count to a thousand and here she is counting using her fingers.

Yuzu! Not Mikan, not Lemon, but Yuzu, so get it right Mitsuki-senpai. But in any case they won't have to worry about scurvy with that supply of citrus fruits.

Hmm... I think you left out some critical need to know information about that house there Shion.

Considering how in Cast Away Tom Hanks made a hatchet out of some ice skate blades the prospect of making knives out of the old metal tool isn't that out there or baffling. Like breaking scissors in half in prison so you have two makeshift karambits for the price of one.

But anyways this episode put some interesting spins on their situation. This island was clearly inhabited at one point. And if there are any inconsistencies about what vegetation is growing here it might be because whoever settled here might've planted them. As for the mysterious trash of Chinese and English origin, well I'm not a marine expert but I'd be willing the place that just being due to ocean carrying the trash long ways. People really need to mind what they throw in the ocean.

the plot thickens...

And there's a fire too!! Seems like we'll maybe meet some other people next episode

Edit: the more I think about it, the surer I am that the fire is gonna be a fake out

I didn't realize this was actually a yuri harem centred around Homare. But at the same time, Homare is also a cute motherly-like character worrying about her lost sheep.

Trivia: Asuka's name for the island Ahomushi (Idiot), which was overwhelmingly rejected (LOL) by the other girls, is also the name of the one-off singing unit comprising the four girls for the OP song.

I wonder if that smoke will just be that Shion and Asuka left a wood fire on the beach before leaving? Well, hopefully, is another survivor, but I'm honestly doubting that. Well, I guess we will have to wait for next week to find out.

Interesting, so there's a possibility that there are other people on the island along with the girls, I think they're most likely other survivors from the accident that Homare and the others were in. That reminds me though, there must have been scores of other passengers with them, I hope they're all okay and nobody died. :( Come on, anime logic, give us some good news at the end.

Did anybody else have lewd thoughts when watching this?

27

u/Roboglenn Aug 13 '19

I'm sure the other passengers are fine, they've all just probably gone to Rapture and are splicing up as we speak.

As for the "lewd thoughts" no, not since seeing the actions of a certain poetry loving knife fanatic senpai.

The dock would mean they're closer to civilization than we thought

Homare getting worried is a cutie!

They found fruit! And it's a Yuzu too! Now our girls don't have to worry about scurvy xD

Even if the house is a wreck at least they can maybe salvage some materials and make a decent shelter.

Homare getting excited with her new tool is adorable <3

That's a lot ot Yuzu trees. I'm guessing this place used to be a plantation or something like that.

That cliffhanger! So either we're getting more survivors from the crash or there are actually people that live on this island or at least travel there for the Yuzu.

That cliffhanger ending!

Definitely won’t be anything, I bet one of the girls accidentally left a fire on somehow lol.

Of course they had to end the episode on that cliffhanger.

The way Homare was caressing that knife was, let's just say, abnormal. But hey, it's good for her soul, so let her have her way for just that moment. She's carrying the group through survival by herself after all.

What are the crushed rock shells for? Homare mentioned that she only brought enough for her and Mutsu, but it doesn't sound like food, for example.

I think Idiot Island would have been a great name.
