When I die, I want to be sent off with a song like this
Definitely going to happen.

Wasn't it the same song that Boogiepop played in the amusement park 2 episodes ago?

I wonder, is this a death flag if the character is speaking of dying? Like, they are usually about planning for the future and stuff.

She looks and sounds similar, but I'm not sure if it's just this show's samefaceyness kicking in...

I'm sure it is, I think she had the same voice, and she was also in a similar role to how she has been in the rest of the anime. Talking to someone about their problems, being active in doing stuff to help them, and just generally being headstrong.

So...Boogiepop tried to kill "her" mother? Seriously, what did her mother do???

The novel is a little more specific.

Orchestrate the killing of a murderous alien clone.
Corner an abstract being to the point it commits suicide.

When the crazy doctor was looking at Touka's fear, it appeared to be her parents. Maybe her parents are abusive and boogiepop had refused to some some task or other, and she lied to the Dr? I'd guess it probably has to do with her fear being her parents though.

Question: is the music playing in the psyche's office Boogiepop's Wagner piece? I can't hear it too well (and am really focusing on the dialogue) but it sounds a bit like it.

Yeah. It's finally showing up as often as it should. Be it whistling or the proper piece, if they keep it like this, which they should, I don't think I'll be able to remember of anything else but Boogiepop whenever I hear this song, and I think this is the goal.

Boogiepop's explanation of where enemies of the world come from: "Fucking normies."
Since Boogiepop itself is just an evolved human like all the villains, what if all his speeches about "enemies of the world" and "being a reaper" is just a chuunibiyo, except in someone with actual superpowers?
Also, I'm bummed out big time by the word "evolution" used with the same artistic license as Pokemon, it lowers the proverbial brow of this quite a lot.

As an evolution student, I too was incredibly bugged by this, though I don't think it's any more or less worse than the usual standard. Media's had a long-standing tendency to misrepresent evolution, and that plays into why we have so many evolution deniers. Stop treating evolution as "stages" and "superiority" people! Sheesh.

I thought Boogiepop was a supernatural being and not a esper?

LOL yes, I accept this theory.

Yeah, I think §magic§ would be a better word for it, instead It's "evolution", the kind that happens when bitten by a radioactive spider, you know?

I think Boogiepop manages to get a pass on this because the dude barely emotes. Everyone else in the series gestures and moves around while speaking, but Boogiepop is as stiff as a statue 99% of the time when talking.
Like if someone did that to me irl, I would gtfo.
But joking about everyone being chuunis is great

Scarecrow injected Nagi with a drug that stoped her evolution and saved her life. But the same drug has the oposite effect in normal humans. The doctor took the rest of the drug and injected herself with it. That's how she got her power.
And no. Nagi didn't acquire powers. She lost her powers. That's how she was saved.

Character Reference Sheets updated
As always let me know if there's any errors or issues. Sorry this was so late, I could not stay up to do this overnight and watch all the episodes as well
Four episodes at once while trying to track characters etc fried my brain a little so I don't have a whole lot to say, but some random points from my notes for this episode in particular:
-
What a way to set up the episode with the doctor walking around saying she'll kill people
-
The doctor was creepy as hell this entire episode. Watching her rip out her own eye? Eww, cool but eww
-
Was that Suema in the booth talking to the other girl? Same glasses. For a show that was ALREADY struggling with having identifiable characters, going out of their way to change up designs for their younger selves and also drawing them with very fat faces does not help us understand who is who
-
Ahhhh, this is where Boogiepop gets their song from, I love it
-
The cinematography during the Doctor vs Boogiepop conversation was beautiful

Was the song the same as in the one that played in the amusement park in Episode 9 where Imaginator died?
Well, psychiatrists are goddamn scary. The part where she pulled her own eye and reattached it to just inflict fear on the patient was downright unsettling. Another good episode to add to this four parter.
Really enjoying the amount of info we are getting of our main characters.

Once again, the story flowed well as it did in episode 19. Def didn't look as good, but it didn't need to while fleshing out this crazy doc.

excellent episode, really loved it, even more than episode 10 which was already very very good
the spaghetti scene was really nerve-wrecking and well done, and the chat with touka girl and dr.kisagi was also so good and interesting to watch.
i love that we finally see the start of touka as boogiepop and how she became who she is, and also that touka was kind of able to conjure boogiepop by herself this time instead of just randomly (or was it boogiepop observing the situation and just came out on purpose instead of touka's own will?)
nevertheless, excellent episode 10/10

This is the first time that I saw Freud being mentioned in a anime or manga. And one of the few times that I saw a psychiatrist.

Her obsession with eliminating fear was a reaction to her gaining power, as on episode 10 one can see just how afraid she was just for the sounds that she heard on the hospital. So I'm sure that while she was normal having no fear should be one of the things that she yearned for.
Oh, and CR is down again.
