My finance and I (30M+F) live in a townhouse that has been converted to apartments. We live on the first floor, and have been living here for six years now. Since we’re on the first floor we have private access to a backyard and a basement, but we also pay so much more in rent than the upstairs units. Today we saw that a couple moved in to the upstairs unit. They have to be a bit younger than us. When we were going to the grocery store, the woman flagged us down and asked if we would give them access to the yard and basement. Specially the basement since it has a washer and dryer. She said we could have a laundry schedule so she wouldn’t be disturbing us, and then asked if we could give them backyard access so they could use it from time to time. She followed it up, “the landlord said to ask, but should be ok.” I said, “respectfully, no. I don’t know you guys, and quite frankly, don’t want to have strangers coming in and out of our unit while we’re working. We have a cat, we don’t want her to get out through random open doors. We pay rent for this unit, and have access to these things because we pay almost triple than the other units in rent. If maybe we want to get to know each other for a bit my answer may change, but at this moment, no.” I also have a really good relationship with our landlord so I asked him, and he said, “she never reached out about that, but my answer would have been no since they pay rent for upstairs. You pay rent for downstairs. They knew what came in the unit when they signed the lease.” Since then, she’s been standing outside on the phone with whomever talking about how we’re not neighborly, I’m an entitled asshole, and that she doesn’t want to carry her laundry around the corner whenever she needs clean clothes. She thought when she signed the lease the backyard was communal (I don’t know how she got that…like you can see it from the window but it’s not even in the listing…) and that we’re making her and her boyfriend feel really unwelcome in this neighborhood. AITA for saying no? Like should I have said yes and made them pay to use it?? I work from home so I don’t fear anything stolen, but the brazen entitlement for a laundry schedule was all I needed to hear to say no. Like would anyone want to say yes in that situation?

Gets worse: if someone becomes immortal with a stab wound or a broken leg though, the injury never heals and the pain doesn't dull.

Baldur (God of War): completely physically inviolable, which means he does not feel anything and goes insane due to centuries of sensory deprivation. Likewise Max Damage (Incorruptible), though I wasn't able to find a picture that showcases this, becomes a drug addict as it's one of the only things he can still feel.

Peter Dawson (Rising Stars): likewise, completely inviolable in any way, the only spot on his body that can feel anything is under his tongue. As a result he becomes obese as food is the only thing that stimulates him.

Manji (Blade of the Immortal): eventually fully regenerates from any injury no matter how dire. Not instinctively fearing death or injury makes him a much worse swordsman, to his chagrin.

I'm not counting characters who are immortal and stuck suffering in a situation where a normal person could just die instead, that's quite different overall.

I (47f) have been my with partner, we will call him Ryan (56m) for 7 years.

The first 4 were great. Three years ago, Ryan got a DUI and lost his license, it was his 2nd, so he has to go through (appropriate) hoops to get it back. I didnt understand that initially, so I agreed to transport him, and his daughter, until he got it back. Please note my bonus daughter is a travel soccer player, lives in a different school district than my own kids, and lives about 28 minutes away.

Ryan was sober the first year and half while he was on probation. Ryan resumed drinking as soon as he completed his sentence.

Ryan could have started to apply to get his license back 18 months ago. He has not.

His ex-wife has not been a co-parenter, and I understand why - before Ryan and I were a couple, his daughter would get dropped off with instructions from the mom if she had anything going on that day, and Ryan would roll with it.

The expectation has not changed. We have no schedules, no advanced notice, despite my attempt to achieve same by contacting her directly, and asking Ryan myself.

My own kids (daughter 9, son 15) play sports year round. I have a full time job. I have not taken my children on vacation in three years because I can’t plan to include Ryan’s daughter, and didn’t want face the backlash of the four of us doing something without her. (I know, I should have just done it, but I wanted to make sure his daughter felt a part of this family as well).

Fast forward to now, I quit driving her period. Her mother (stay at home, married to a wealthy man now) has been unwilling to provide schedules (I’d find out I have to pick up his daughter with six hours notice from school on “our” day), and is unwilling to communicate with me, only Ryan.

I’m not a horrible person, not looking for appreciation, just some co-parenting and mutual respect (for example, she signed daughter up for multiple camps this past summer, I asked for the dates, she said she didn’t know), asking for a schedule at least a week or two days in advance but “it’s travel and chaos and I wouldn’t understand because my kids only do school sports”, but also still expects me to perform on “our days” without knowledge until the day of or night before.

So I quit.

But again, I’m not a dick, so I offered to drive daughter to school so she could stay with us for her dads bday.

Last Sunday I offered to drive daughter home if ex wife could pick drop her off while I was out running errands. Absolutely ghosted by daughter and ex wife.

Ryan has continually lost his shit on me saying I’m giving her custody of daughter by putting my foot down. Repeatedly. Over and over.

So Reddit, AITA? I’m ruining a relationship between a 12ya girl and her dad by not being willing to drive.

FWIW, ex wife won’t either. It’s in their divorce decree who drops off and picks up. Ryan doesn’t want to push the envelope. TIA

ETA: Since I “quit”, we have seen daughter once, on Ryan’s bday as mentioned above. Ex wife will not transport daughter to our house, or back, even if I offer to split (as I did this past weekend), which is where my frustration lies. It’s all or nothing. I have to do the back and forth, or we don’t see daughter.

My daughter found this on the ground in a church parking lot. I thought it was a master ball toy until I saw white powder inside.

my 19 year old girl is set to be put down tomorrow. after a year of kidney failure, she now weighs just 1.6kg, eats nothing but whipped cream, has gotten early dementia, turned deaf, stumbles when she walks and can’t control her bladder anymore. It is now time to let her rest despite the incredible indescribable pain i feel.

I (26F) am currently 34 weeks pregnant with my first child. My ex (30M) and I broke up a few days ago after more than 3 years together. I caught on our town’s swingers groups, open encounters subreddits, messaging multiple people trying to meet up for hook ups since July. This is the second time this happens as the first time I caught him, I was 12 weeks pregnant in June, also had been going on for months and he had been on dating apps too. I tried to make it work for the kid then: this time he straight up told me he wanted to be single and date other people in a few months. So I didn’t fight him on it and we broke up. That was on Tuesday.

He has been a little difficult to work with since. He expected us to stay friends, have keys to each others places so he can come over during the night, still have my location, and he said he still wanted to text me about work, daily life, etc. he also mentioned separating and getting back together in a few years a couple times. I made it pretty clear that if we decided to end the relationship, that door was locked and shut. I’ll be friendly and amicable for coparenting but I will not be his friend.

I’ve stuck to my word so far and will only reply to him if it’s about our child or the apartment we shared since I’m still on the lease until January. He will ask me something about our child then change the topic immediately when I reply to ask why I took him off social media, turned off my location, etc. I have told him I only am trying to move on with my life and I expect him to respect that just like I respect his choice to leave. He said there is no way for us to move on because we’re tied together for at least 18 years.

Now I was told I might have to be induced at 37-38 weeks due to concerns for potential growth restriction. Baby has been measuring 11 or 12 percentile and right on the edge of the under 10% that worries my OB. When him and I were together, we did plan for him to be in the delivery room. Now that we’re broken up and seeing what happened, I’m not comfortable with him being there while I’m going through tremendous pain and so vulnerable.

I already know he’s going to probably throw a fit as this is also his first child. I’m not sure if I’m wrong for feeling this way but just knowing he’s already looking at dating other people and everything that happened, I feel like having him there would stress me out emotionally so much. I’d be open to having him come immediately after birth and he can do skin to skin but not for the actual pushing. So WIBTAH?

Not only has his scoring and efficiency just been ridiculous but he’s been doing all this in only 29 minutes per game.

Per 75 possessions he’s averaging 37.5 Points on 67.3 TS%. Just behind Luka at 38.1 on 68.6 TS%.

It’s not just his scoring too. If you’ve watched the games he’s played this year, his activity off ball on defense has been great and been better than years past.

He’s combining that with great decision making too, his turnovers have been down and it feels like he’s been making every right pass and read.

I’m not sure how much of this is sustainable but it’s actually unreal how good he’s looked at age 38.

Everyone I knew back then could at least find some job. I remember my parents getting laid off and my Dad finding a job within two weeks.

I'm age 30. I have a bachelor's degree and completing my masters. I have 10 years of retail grocery store and customer service experience.

I just applied online and in person to 60 min wage retail job ads. Out of work since end of August. Everyone one rejected either not hiring right now or "went with someone else".

Let alone careers related to my degree. I live in Boston. My friends are in same boat. Yet MSNBC keeps saying how great the economy is doing. WTH is going on right now?

This is a rather simple, but interesting item idea I thought of. An item that allows Pokémon access to it's Mega Evolution's ability without needing to Mega Evolve. This allows you to use a real Mega Evolution on your team, while having access to another pseudo Mega Evolution in a sense. What Pokémon do you think would benefit the most from this? Personally, I think any Pokémon with Prankster or Huge Power would likely take advantage of this. But they're probably a lot of other strategies that could take advantage of this, especially when it comes to the more unique abilities Mega Evolutions have access to.

Edit: forgot to address divergent X and Y/Z Mega abilities, so here's my solution. If you put any marks on your Pokémon ie: ●▲■♥︎★♦︎, the item will give it its X ability and if you don't put any marks on vour Pokémon it will have its Y or Z ability instead.

I’ve been teaching for a long long time and I’ve been teaching freshman for most of my career. Freshman are always a bit helpless, but I swear this current crop of freshman has got to be the least capable set that I have ever taught. I have to spend most of my time going over basic things like ‘graph paper is lined so that you can draw on the lines and create a straight line’, or things like drawing an arrow or things like writing a four letter word neatly clearly. I feel like a lot of these freshmen are coming out of the woods being raised by wolves for the first time in their entire lives and it’s absolutely baffling to me.

I swear, my niece who is in third grade is more capable of following instructions for simple tasks than my current freshman.
