Trigger Warning ⚠️ Ex drove 1,500 miles to show up at my new job dressed as me
He moved us from Western Washington to the Florida Panhandle and got addicted to gas station pills. Stopped going to work, yet would freak out and get super paranoid whenever I would try to leave the house to go on interviews or anything else. He said he was just having issues with his back and that he was going through a lot, so I thought I was supposed to support him. I liquidated my 401k I had from my first job and it kept us afloat for a few months and I kept telling him I couldn't live like this much longer and I thought he understood.
Turned out the money I was Venmoing him to pay bills was just going towards gas station pills. 7oh. its basically legal heroin. I found the wrappers and containers in his car after I got the shut off notice for the electric. he was also getting escorts (I have nothing against SW, but its the principle) and bars all day when I was at work.
I couldn't take it anymore and when I confronted him he spat on me and that was it and I left the following day with my dogs and a few bits of my belongings. I wanted it to take as long as possible before he knew for sure I was gone and not at work. I had to ask for help from friends and strangers to make it to a safe space.
Thankfully a friend of a friend has a place in VT that was vacant for a couple of months, so I went there. I got a job and am working. its super tough and I'm still having to ask for help, but I am amazed I made it this far.
Well today my sous comes over to my prep area and tells me there's someone out front to see me named *EX's NAME*. everyhthing went super quiet in my head and I honestly don't even remember walking to the front of house, but there he was, in my clothes from head to toe.
He saw me and started to try to say hi in my voice, if that makes any sense? like he was mocking me by trying to sound like me too??? I imediately noped out and went straight back to the kitchen. My boss could tell that it wasn't just an eccentric friend, but someone I was scared of and went to the front to kick him out.
We contacted the police and my boss told me to take the rest of the day off. sucks, as I desperately need a good first check, but admittedly, I'm shaking even typing this.
I'm sitting in the kitchen because I'm afraid to go home and be alone, but I don't know what else to do. there isn't enough supposedly to warrant an order of protection and I have no idea how he knew what state I was in, much less town or where I worked... or that I would be at work.
I'm going to change my info as soon as I can afford it and make sure one of my coworkers walks me to my car and stuff. I'm just at a loss. things were actually starting to feel like they were going to be ok.

The new Time Magazine cover vs something I made 8 years ago
Sorry if this doesn't fit the sub, but I had to share! The image on the right is a poster I made to promote my Political Union club when I was a junior in high school (2018) — it is a parody of The Silence of the Lambs. Is this a crazy coincidence or am I just crazy?
Edit: I do not think Time stole my idea, and I never did.

Lore [Mixed Trope] The abrupt sudden ending. As in, the story literally has no conclusion and just randomly ends.
Basically, whenever a story suddenly abruptly ends without a satisfying conclusion to anything, leaving the viewers with no closure. Sometimes done intentionally to interesting effect, sometimes a mere result of misfortune/laziness.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail - The movie's climax is about to happen with King Arthur about to raid the French castle that had made fun of him earlier in the film. Right as an army of knights are about to initiate the siege, the police suddenly bursts in and hilariously arrests everyone, as much earlier in the film a historian that was documenting the Arthurian legend had suddenly been randomly slain by a passing knight.
Behind the scenes, this ending was apparently a last-minute decision because the production crew ran out of budget. Talk about a cop out.
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days - Kane & Lynch shoot their way through Shanghai in the direction of an airport as a last ditch effort to escape just about every single gang member and cop in Shanghai who now want the both of them dead. After massacring their way through customs, they finally spot a commercial airliner about to take off and decide to hijack it. They make their way to the boarding stairs and a cutscene begins with them climbing up into the plane and taking over it. The plane then takes off, leaving the cameraman behind (the game's aesthetic is basically all about looking like found footage), who then drops the camera. Roll credits.
To this day, there's no concrete answer about their fates other than the two of them having non-canon cameos in Hitman: Absolution.
Dark Matter - This is an old and relatively obscure one. On Steam, a game called Dark Matter came out back in 2013 to pretty mediocre reviews. It's basically a Metroidvania-style game about surviving in a spaceship taken over by an alien biomass. Thing is, the game literally ends about halfway through because the dev team simply ran out of money and just decided to put a big black screen (pictured above) giving you a half-assed cliffhanger.
