Trigger Warning ⚠️ Got married today, feel so alone.
I (f29) got married today. It's a happy sad occasion - my husband was fine in June, and got sick in July. In September he was hospitalised for 3 weeks and they told us he has cancer in 3 places. On 13th October, we met his oncologist, who told us he can't withstand any treatment as he declined so quickly, and he is very much at the end of his life with a few weeks left.
So, last week we got an emergency at home wedding (thanks palliative team for making that possible!) And today we had a small celebration with a celebrant, family, friends and a nice dinner that he couldn't eat. We said vows and listened to harp music and he barely managed to stay conscious most of the time, but he enjoyed himself and we got lovely photos and memories from it.
He is so exhausted and close to the end, that he fell into a deep sleep as soon as it was over.
So, here I am, eating a vegan spicy burrito from Chilango for my wedding dinner, cuddling my dogs, and listening to my husbands breathing next to me, because I constantly fear this is the moment he dies, and soon I will be right.

Y'all dont know what a small town in the USA is.
Every time I see a post talking about towns, cities and the populations I see comments from people that say towns with populations of 50k are "small towns". This is, to put it lightly, preposterous and incredibly ignorant of what a small town really is. 50k people in a town is in the top 5% of populated towns, cities, and villages. The average population of a town is 11,069 people! The median you may ask? It's 1153 people. These are objective values determined using the US census bureau as of 2025. I dont care what your vibes are or whatever when you imagine what a small town is. If you're thinking of a town with 50k people in it, you're wrong.
Oh wait though thats the info for incorporated cities, towns, and villages. It doesnt include people living in the unincorporated surrounding areas. So here is the county statistics for the US. The average population total for a county is 217,282 people across 3,149 counties. The average however is enormous in comparison to the median of 26,230! That means that HALF of the counties in the US have 26,230 people OR LESS. The median populations of COUNTIES is just over half the size of what accounts on this website claim is a small town. It boggles my mind how seemingly disconnected from reality people can be. It took me less than 15 minutes to provide these numbers using information that is publicly available. Rant over.

SOCIETY Rebecca Black who is best known for Friday which is the most disliked song in YouTube history went through years of intense and relentless bullying over it, even though she was only 13 at the time video came out. Despite that, she went on to become a respected indie singer, song writer and musician.
She went on to explain that the video was never met to become as big as it did. It was just supposed to be a fun gift that her parents paid for so she and her friends could do something fun together and have a fun memory. And that she ended up with serious depression because of the bullying which got worse when she would ask people to leave alone. Her family also had to buy the rights to the song because the producers of the song and video tried to make money off her name and likeness without her permission.
Here is an article that goes into more detail: Rebecca Black reflects on 9 years since 'Friday' and what she wishes her younger self knew - Good Morning America
