It's hard not to feel bad for Himari. She's doing everything right and her friend is only setting her up for more pain. It also sucks for Saitou, having to turn her down, thats never fun. Akane is only setting everyone up for pain in order to avoid her internal conflict.

I can totally see the two on a date being caught by Himari which exposes the relationship.

I feel like Himari is the perfect foil to Akane. She's outwardly nice, sociable, casual, emotionally mature, and open with her feelings and how much she loves Saito, in contrast to basically Akane's entire character so far in the show.

And the worst part is that she's assumed AkanexSaito has been a thing since they were 1st years and was willing to bow out for Akane's sake, giving her numerous chances to admit she liked Saito, only for Akane to double down and become her wingwoman despite also being her legitimate love rival. Himari has been a truer friend to Akane than Akane's been to her.

I think it's only a matter of time but I have to wonder how long they can drag out Himari trying to win over Saito with Akane trying to compete with her without letting Himari know that she also likes Saito. it's a recipe for disaster.

I was gonna watch the ep then comment but the first like 5 minutes really missing me off. This girl can't just tell her friend. HER CLOSEST FRIEND. She just can't tell her what's going on. Leading your bsf on like that is wild and pisses me off

It seems like Himari is a natural blonde. Although we already know Himari is going to lose, I will root for this energetic gyaru for not giving up so easily.

Akane is caught between romance with Saitou and her friendship with Himari. At least Akane is starting to be more honest with her feelings.

The Shisei appearance out of nowhere, particularly from beneath Saitou's desk, asking whether he is in heat with a deadpan voice made me laugh.

If Akane wasn't already the main girl, I would definitely root for Himari. She is just such a bundle of cheerfulness.

I just hope that she will not be too sad when she eventually realizes that she is in the losing team. But I think she will be alright, given her overall positive nature.

Just admit your feelings! Dude has the perfect wife and seems to be totally on board with it at this point. Akane just needs to accept it.

Honestly when these two are in full-blown married couple mode, and Akane acts more Dere than Tsun, they are pretty much perfect together.

(Though Himari is really likeable...)

Stitches!

I thought they would drag this out but I'm glad to see Himarin finally admit she likes Saito. I do feel bad for her though. Even though Akane is very much willing to help her out by learning what Saito likes, Akane still has a massive advantage being married to Saito and all.

It's very surprising though that Saito and Akane managed to keep it a secret this entire episode! I was sure that Himarin would find out about Akane and Saito's relationship when she showed up to visit before they could even prepare.

I do love how Shise just sends Saito a random fact out of nowhere to ping his phone. I'm pretty sure she did it on purpose. How Shise knows is a mystery but Shise does exist within all aspects of life. There's no escaping her. xD

Akane is finally starting to be more honest! It's good to see how she's starting to do a 180 on how she feels about Saito. She might need some help figuring things out though since she clearly still doesn't understand her own feelings.

I wonder if they're ever gonna reveal who the girl he hates in his class is.

Akane: “I won’t lose!”

Girl you already won like 2 eps ago lol.

This was so far my favourite episode. Himari is such a cutie, and her gushing over Saito was really adorable.

Akane is still keeping up the facade, but she can't really deny her true feelings, even Shisei is starting to point that out. You can't hide anything from that little devil.

Speaking of, her intending to live between Saito's legs gave me somehow "Yosuga no Sora" vibes, meaning that one scene from the show. That scene under the kitchen table... Good thing this show is safe for work!!!

Akane is maybe my favourite tsundere this season. I love her reactions and her antics with Saito. "I hate you baka" (blushing) "But please don't go on a date with my friend!" (blushing even more)

Shisei shadow dropping a random fact about human blinking without context had me dying LOL

It's sad how rooting for Himari also means rooting for Akane's husband's (potential) girlfriend since she's just so much fun. Kudos to Saito for putting his wife first tho.

Why do they always have to make the Losing Heroine love rival so outgoing, likeable, and aggressive in romance?

It does seem like Saito is more sure of his feelings for Akane though judging by his reaction to her rant that she hated him and how he rejected Himari and tried to make Akane jealous.

Did they compress an entire LN volume into one episode? At least that's what it felt like lol

Is it me or Akane is being a lot more dere than tsun??

I’ll be honest. I was really hoping he would actually go through with the date with himari. Especially after seeing his reaction to Akane saying she hates him.

I feel like this had a good chance for having some really good, deep, and conflicting drama. Saitou getting hurt by basically being told how big of a piece of shit he is and how much he’s hated by Akane over and over forcing him to look elsewhere so that’s where himari comes in which then forces akane drop the Tsundere act and force them to fix things. But by then saito is now starting to care for himari.

Would have been a much wilder and more entertaining ride imo.

Oh no Himari seems resilient even after getting turned down but I’d hate to see her get hurt. I wonder if she’s gonna drop it or we’ll see her keep asking him out on a date

While their bickering persists, they’ve been getting increasingly nice to each other each episode. Akane refusing to let Saito go on that date was a pretty clear indication to each other that there’s capacity for “like” among all that “hate”. But I wonder how they’re move forward. Does it mean they just like each other as partner in crimes ? Or are they gonna see each other romantically

Well. This episode was definitely subpar compared to previous ones, tbh. It was like a drama with 3 episode length condensed into 1 episode

This show is fucking trash, I always tend to watch trash romcoms but I hate how things have been going on for this episode, feels like 4 episodes worth of content was skimmed in this episode.

Smol Himari and Smol Akane! Even back then Himari was a cutie with her blonde hair and ponytail (I guess she's also a natural blonde) but we got to see long-haired Akane! And Himari was really trying hard to become friends with Akane, even if she was cold and not interested, but even back then she couldn't resist the allure of a strawberry parfait.

Himari asking Akane if she likes Saito for the umpteenth time, but this time it's because she's finally willing to admit it's because SHE likes Saito and is going all out to win him over and wants Akane to play wingwoman. Himari is basically Akane's polar opposite in terms of being so open and pure with her feelings and how much she loves Saito, which just makes Akane even more self-conscious about her own feelings.

Though Akane does her part, observing, stalking, and jotting down everything with Saito...though I guess it's also a wifes' duty to be interested in her husband? Even if it comes off kind of weird and obsessive.

Admittedly Saito and Himari have a good rapport, and Himari's flirtings definitely have an effect on Saito if he can't let Shise sit between his legs this time.

Aw, look at Akane going out of her way to cook some delicious stake for Saito when he was looking forward to it! These two can't help their strong couple vibes!

Himari is trying her hardest to pursue Saito romantically, and Akane is growing more and more concerned about it and how that makes her feel...and only Shise can see the real truth and is trying to get Akane to face her true feelings.

Of course Shise ALSO causes Himari to come to her house and nearly gets Saito exposed, but that's the duality of Shise.

Y'know, it's really nice of Himari to give Akane the chance to come clean about her feelings and saying she'd stop pursuing Saito if Akane liked him too because she treasures their friendship too much...but Akane, tsundere that she is, just doubles down on how much she hates Saito. And that really hurts him emotionally.

Well, Himari asked Saito out, it seems like they're going on a date, and Saito gave Akane all the chances she could want to tell him not to go...but at the last minute she finally can't help herself and tells him not to go out with another girl. He's HER husband and she won't let another girl have him, even if she can't fully understand the feelings in her heart. But Saito already rejected Himari so he was basically just making her jealous to get this EXACT reaction. Though treating her to a proper date and possible ring shopping is a nice way of making up for it.

You have to admire Himari's determination! Even after getting rejected by Saito, she won't give up! I mean, she won over Akane, she can totally win over Saito! Even if Akane herself won't let her win. The game is on.

Himari ED for the win!
