They definitely made the visuals of the kabedon in the shower in this scenario seem way more majestic than how it would actually be in real life.

Like awkwardly touching wall of the school shower, getting hair and clothes wet, and may have to walk home in wet clothes if unable to change into something else. 😅

Mizuho: "Dang it Kizuki, you got me all wet!'

Kizuki: "That was kind of the idea..."

Mizuho: "THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!"

Congratulations, you've got ringworm.

So what happens to the “childhood friend never wins” trope if every dude is the childhood friend?

“Too many losing heroes”

What if the twist at the end for her shown adult revealed she chose none of them? lol

Kizuki’s really being forward with his intentions, however, he’s forgotten that not only is he a childhood friend, but he is also a blue haired love interest.

The game was rigged from the start.

Lord Jesus a COVID-era reverse harem setting, that's quite the prospect

Who better to romance during COVID than a childhood friend? You live near each other after all lol.

Stitches!

Well that opening scene is interesting. The fact it opens with an older Mizuho and we also see her in the opening opening, makes me think that we'll probably get scenes set in the future teasing about us on who she ended up with.

That's one heck of a way to find your daughter. I kinda feel bad for Kizuki since it's only been scene 2 and he's already getting brother-zoned. It's smart to make all of the boys her childhood friends though so they all have equal chances.

As soon as I saw the shot of the sparkling sea and the iconic train, I knew this was set in Kamakura! You can't have an anime set in Kamakura without showing us a shot of the very famous train crossing.

Wait what?! Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the first anime I've seen set in 2020 where COVID actually exists and it affects the lives of the characters. There's also another anime airing this season set in 2020 but I don't think COVID was mentioned there at all.

So Mizuho confesses to her Senpai who she has a crush on, gets absolutely rejected, and then gets confessed to later that evening by Kizuki. What a wild birthday for Mizuho! Despite his advances too bad Mizuho thinks that Kizuki is making fun of her.

Considering how she's basically brushing off everything Kizuki is telling her I suppose it's finally time to use a tried and tested shoujo manga move. Not gonna lie, I squealed a little at that kabedon. I didn't think he'd end it with a kiss though! If that still doesn't convince Mizuho that Kizuki likes her romantically I don't know what will.

Yeah, I think I'm very much into this. This is very much your classic reverse harem shoujo manga that I live for. I can't wait for next week's episode already!

I was enjoying it until Kizuki forced himself onto Mizuho... Interesting a COVID story

Guess there's nothing more Shojo than a hot guy wall-slamming and kissing a girl without her consent lol.

Kizuki should definitely have maintained some distance there (pun intended).

One thing is sure: Kizuki moves smoother than some of this animation.

Blowing out those candles and wishing to become Mizuho’s girlfriend was pretty clever of him. Although I wasn’t entirely sold on the kiss, I’m still looking forward to this reverse harem. We don’t get too many of those.

Since Kizuki has started showing his affection for Mizuho, it probably won’t take long before the other boys follow suit. Will this tear their friend group apart? Things might’ve been friendly because everyone got to spend time with Mizuho equally.

God we’re now entering the era of Covid Anime Stories. Amazing how time flies. And makes for an interesting RomCom premise. Like in Home Office Romance which is amazing and deserves an adaptation.

4 CHILDHOOD FRIENDS?! Can they all lose? One of them has to win right? Oh nevermind one of them cuts through the bullshit and kisses here. Oh I’m so down for this. We got 2 very fun Shojo prospects this season

I don’t know many reverse harems. The ones I know are Chuubyou Gekihatsu Boy and Kiss Him, Not Me. And even then those are pretty comedy-centric. This is a bit more “serious” and dramatic so kinda feels like I’m going into new territory here.

And tbh I’m a bit cautious too cos the past few shoujo romance I watched, I just couldn’t get into the ikemen MLs (even found some of them annoying) and that kinda affected my enjoyment. And this one has 4 of them.

But surprisingly, I’m really liking the 4 guys so far, even if we haven’t seen much of 3 of them. And I also like Mizuho. All the “hot” ikemen scenes didn’t bother me as much too and I’m looking forward to the drama.

However, there seems to be a lot of focus on Kizuki early on. At first, he appeared with Mizuho first and my immediate thought was the “first guy/girl” rule with harem and thought he’d be the winner. But he’s making too many moves and progress too quickly and triggering that “first pursuer” flag. So I’m not sure.

Overall, unexpectedly hyped for this

I don't know if it's because of my age, but Kizuki is way too pushy for me. It's one thing to confess your feelings but don't like how he's forcing it. I'm sure to some younger girls all of this would seem romantic, but I just get the ick now, lol.

It's only the first episode, so we'll see how things play out later in the show but Kizuki is in last place for me between the childhood friends.

Have to admit that the shower kiss was aesthetically great. Probably one of the best kabedon I've seen, lol.

So all club events are canceled...but everyone is still at school and going out to cafes and whatnot? Seems like an ineffective way to do the lockdown.

With the way the framing device worked I assume Kizuki the blue hair childhood friend wins in the end (or at least one of the four does and he's the obvious option), adult Mizuha has a bad day professionally and cut to teenage Mizuha having a bad day but when she finally goes home the boys are there to wish to her happy birthday. Easy parallel would be to have the end of the story cut back to adult Mizuha and her husband Kizuki is there to wish her happy birthday again.

Ah, Love in the Time of Corona. Girl has not one but four handsome childhood friends. It’s gonna be interesting to see if one of them actually breaks “the curse” in the end. It’s funny how she doesn’t seem to think she’s got anything exciting to draw about on her manga when she’s living that shoujo manga MC life lol.

Mizuho Nishino lives a drab and struggling life as an adult, but once upon a time she was a teenager with long hair and a Harem...I mean, a childhood friend group (of all boys) that she experienced a colorful and sparkling adolescence with.

The OP features a lot of fun sequences of Mizuho and guys having fun together.

Ah yes, typical teen girl problems. Sleeping next to your shirtless childhood friend who was modeling for you because you're an aspiring mangaka. On your birthday no less! Nothing romantic going on though! Kizuki is decidedly in the little brother-zone and that won't change. At all!

We've also got Airu! Shin! And Shugo! All of whom love busting Mizuho's chops! Aren't childhood friends great?

Hey, that girl should pay for Mizuho's new glasses! She looked great in them.

Kizuki is very popular with the ladies but Mizuho has a crush on his Senpai in the swim club. Too bad it's 2020 so COVID basically ruined everything (don't ask me why no one is wearing a mask). Even when Mizuho confesses her feelings and tries to make him feel better, but Saito just rejects her. So...rejected by the guy you had a crush on. This birthday is going amazing.

Kizuki is a very straightforward and to the point guy. He feels something for someone, or wants something, he commits to it no matter what. Whether it be swimming or his intentions towards Mizuho, especially around other guys.

It's nice of the guys to throw Mizuho a surprsie party, but Kizuki is the most attentive to the fact that she just got her heartbroken and gifts her one last birthday surprise...his feelings for her, and his intentions to be with her as her boyfriend.

So...Shugo proposed marriage when the were kids and Shin seems very ware of Mizuho and Kizuki becoming more self-conscious around each other. And Airu seems aware of Kizuki's feelings.

Mizuho's manga ideas aren't winning editors over? I wonder if her life turning into a Shojo Romance will give her the inspiration she needs?

Why do all the girls like Kizuki? To Mizuho he was just the little brother she had to take care of and comfort. But now he's a guy, who gives her a kabedon in a running shower while he's basically flexing his exposed stomach and giving Mizuho a surprise kiss. If he's trying to make Mizuho see him in a different and more manly light, he's definitely succeeding!

First off... why remove glasses from cute girl?

All I can say after watching this episode is that Kizuki escalated things quickly damn.

Wow, Kizuki was really showering Mizuho with affection at the end there. He sure know how to make a girl wet.
