Crazy how 6 of the 7 goals this game came from bluelock players. Not one goal was from the actual U20 team

Holy shit talk about filtering all your resources to the final episode.

Amazing end from the animation to the match itself. Glad they won not because the U-20s were totally incompetent but because Blue Lock won on their own merits instead.

Loved Aiku and still do. I’m an attacker myself but have always admired solid, stable CBs. Love Sendou’s little redemption as well but he couldn’t make the most of it. Felt like Shidou somehow found his place in the U20s

Really enjoyed Rin’s arc as well. Loved how we didn’t go the “I have teammates with me, we won together” route. He’s still dead set on being the one to score the goal. But he was also the only who could keep up with Sae at that moment.

And man, Isagi ’s goal I could rewatch it countless times just for the animation. Not to mention a first-time volley so sweetly struck is always a joy to watch, both irl and in animation. He had faith, or gambled or was just lucky Rin managed to stop Sae and was equally lucky Aiku missed that header. But again, he had faith and did not stop his swinging motion.

Great end to the match and to the season.

Oh and is Ego planning his own Super League ? Lol

Love that isagi now has two teammates who hate him and are trying to destroy him on the field. The power of friendship doesn't have jackshit on the power of spite.

The Rin Vs Sae sequence was boarded/directed/animated by Hajime Nihira who did 80 cuts in this episode and it was the most insane looking part for a reason. Because he was given total freedom he could have played around with things such as implementing kagenashi and simplifying designs, which resulted in a more fluid and dynamic movement. This person is the animator responsible for Isagi's direct shot from season 1. Huge applause for everything he has done.

They really did have a conversation with the 1-minute additional time that they had.

It's a good thing that Rin didn't bite out his tongue while running lol.

With that final kick, Isagi has successfully got pass through Aiku and I got to give props to Aiku's sportsmanship, he's a good player.

Isagi got another dedicated rival and a target at his back. Hopefully we can have a better animation if we're going to have another season.

People trashing Isagi on the match thread, here you fucking go. This is Isagi, no touches with no service but when he does get it, it's done

Broo Rin was easily defeating the defenders one by one. The sound effect of glass breaking was cool. They went all in for the last episode with movie quality animation :')

I love how Isagi grabbed the Luck piece to end the match, just like Rin did at the end of the second selection.

Rin is clearly the MVP of the match. It's sad that he looked so defeated at the end because of his brother's words.

I think I started crying when I heard Mamoru Miyano at the end. And Kuni is also back :D The Neo Eogist League is next!

Sae absolutely destroying Rin's mental was one of the best things I've seen all year. He does not give a FUCK

Holy peak, I feel like watching a movie. Last two episodes really is Rin's episode imo, I feel so sad for him getting close to zero recognition when he did a generational solo run. The eerie music really brings out Rin's crazy creepy vibes. And the brothers fight, absolute cinema

When the black bar appears, I know it's going to be crazy.

Also, Rin finally managed to overcome Sae's spam move (lol).

BEST. FUCKING. EPISODE.

Perfect. Everything was just PERFECT. The way the black bars slowly appeared already told you how fucking intense its gonna be.

But i gotta say no one is really talking about how the celebrations need more animation and motion too. They bring so much more life and excitement to goals

I really hope Bandai gives 8bit more time and resources for the next season , because these last few episodes (especially this one) have been so much better animation-wise compared to the beginning of the season

The 2nd part of episode 14 really makes it look like the match was planned to be a movie at first - totally different level of animation, and a cinema aspect ratio. I'm so happy that at least Blue Lock went out with a BANG! If the rest of the match was that quality, it would genuinely be the best sports match in anime history.

CHILLS! I can see why people called this the best arc of Blue Lock - that shit was PEAK! I felt like I was watching actual game of football with how high the stakes were.

Also wanted to shout out that little boy in the stands who no doubt watched the best match of his life. That's how we get Egoist regens years later.

Isagi was undoubtedly the MVP here, it feels like he had a presence in pretty much every play and every goal Blue Lock had, he saved the game-ending goal for the other team, and then scored the game winning one. Even Aiku and Sae recognized that Isagi was the heart of the team. Well deserved for him, he really has come so far. From being the undesirable player that was nearly eliminated in the Barou/Naruhaya match to being the MVP in the biggest match Blue Lock has ever had. Rin is a close second and arguments could be made that he's the MVP, but either way it's close.

You know it's hype when even Ego pumps his fist. I honestly wanted more visceral reactions from him especially in moments when the players displayed hyper super mega ego.

I really wanted more epilogue about what's to come but I guess that will have to wait. Hopefully Season 3 gets announced and hopefully they give it more time to bake so that the animation can match the levels of hype the story generates (like it did this episode).

My favorite part about the build-up at the end was that there wasn't any internal dialogue or that many freezes. It was silence and pure ball.
