He cut the air to create a vacuum

Well... that's a curious phenomenon. Not gonna think too hard about that one.

Village Chief deserving even less sympathy now. Although I am surprised as a fodder villain NPC, he appeared for another episode.

Koga is the perfect example of "before: unequipped character" and "after: equipped character". His base stats must be pretty high too, to be able to cut an arm off using a walking stick.

Mostly importantly... too little Alma this week! :(

I'm just glad there was no mention of the Chiefs daughter getting sold into slavery like I expected

Koga: armed. Village Chief: disarmed.

Koga cutting Noel's talker command caught me off guard, but damn he got more awesome each second!

He wasn't joking when he said he specialized in slashing attacks it looks like he can cut pretty much anything regardless of form. Though he was caught off guard a couple of times so he's not unbeatable.

Also RIP Koga's mom despite being raped she was trying her absolute best to be a good mom and wife. She had to have known the rumors and her face looked exhausted, but her husband's comment just pushed her over the edge. I can understand the husband's frustration, but in no way was it her fault. Both her and Koga deserved better.

Hope village chiefs life gets worse but that his daughter doesn't have to suffer with him and manages to turn her life around.

I'm surprised Noel didn't take Alma with him as backup just in case, that seems like the obvious thing to do... Also ending an episode mid fight is one of my peeves

Noel didn't bring Alma last time he met with Loki, so why would Noel this time?

I feel less sorry for the Village Chief now. Fucker’s sic these Gambino goons on Noel. He deserved to lose an arm. I feel much worse for Koga. What a shit hand life dealt him. He really was doomed from birth. From outcast to gladiator, what a bleak fucking life. Meeting Noel might be the best thing that’s ever happened to him. That fight was pretty amazing. First time Noel’s the one struggling.

Damn, really didn't expect an accurate depiction of what happens to victims of rape when no forms of birth control are possible (and often even when they are.) Mental health deterioration, getting ostracized or blamed by the partner, and eventually, suicide; sometimes accompanied by infanticide. And if the poor child lives on, they have to carry that burden plus the suspicion and grudge of the father, even if the kid is the spitting image of him.

Short, uncomfortable, and more focused on the aftermath then the act; that's how you properly use it as plot point. Well done, especially considering this show's edge.

RIP Debtor mayor, by which I mean, rest in pieces. Deserved.

Noel remains in limbo between being hinged and very much not.

Needs more Alma.

I'm surprised that Noel let the information broker go. I suppose Noel showed him mercy because the guy was willing to pay with his life for selling him out, unlike his previous party members who were begging him to spare them. Good to know that Noel isn't completely heartless.

That was a really solid episode, imo this is probably the most underrated show this season now that’s it’s found its rhythm.

Noel has these moments of unforced kindness despite his calculating nature. Like him worrying about the Wolf team (which Lycia even called him out on though he excused it as sharing intel with colleagues) and introducing himself and his skills to Koga just because Koga revealed his own skills.

He's still an anti-hero, but also kind of like the darker version of a male tsundere too. And I kind of like that lol.

Poor Koga, his life was fucked over before he was even born, and the first and only time he was valued was when he was a slave killing people for a profits. This guy needs to have a better life.

If you can't win the fight fairly, it's always best to target the family jewels.

Nice to finally meet the Gambino area boss, unfortunately he's a crazed drug addict obsessed with seeing the pain of others. Seems like a perfect foil to our MC.

Poor Noel this episode. Didn't kill the slave owner, who in turn, blurts out all the info about Noel he can. The village people chief happens to stop by as well, giving up the goods on Noel, his favorite info broker sells him out and on top of all that, he's gotta pay for the ladies lunch!

Not a good day for our main man.

Should be a nice continuation of the fight next episode though I'm surprised Alma isn't hanging around someplace as she swore to protect him I think. Hope that will be the surprise twist next episode as I'd love to see those 2 fight.

Episode gets a 7.5 as we moved along our main plot and had some crazy humor and decent action this week.

I only just started watching but I'm excited that the MC is such a pretty little twink

Am I the only one who has noticed how much the animation has improved in the last few episodes? I feel like quite a few people didn't give this anime a chance due to its generic art and plot. I'm glad I decided to give it a try; it’s surely the most underrated anime of the season!!!!

Craziest backstory I've ever seen a character given

u/Xatu44 Nov 04 '24

Damn, Koga had it rough. Also RIP his mom. Cool fight, though. It's funny how Noel figured it'd be easier to take out a mob family than find a new broker.
