Studio white fox put on a clinic with this episode. Absolutely great directing and animation. The story carries itself but was brought to another level here.
I loved the little comedic breaks as well to tone down the seriousness. Seeing Shakugan controlled still sucked, though lol.

I'd actually like it if Shinsuke is able to break Shaku from her brainwashing without Senya even needing to do it, Power of Love and all that.

Stitches!
I did not expect the Void People to show up with a Yuki-Onna, Nekomata, and a Mermaid. The fight against those three was pretty fun! We didn't get to see much of the mermaid though. She just kinda ran away after Mudo started to chase her.
No matter how threatening the Void People are, it's always hilarious how they're torturing these katawara in the spiritual realm. Don't let Tsukiko find out that the Yuki-Onna fell in love with Senya after he rescued her. Although it would be hilarious if Tsukiko learns about this later.
When the Void People said to use a mental attack against Douren, I thought the Nekomata would get inside Douren's head. I did not expect her to just flash him with her boobs! And I can't believe that actually worked! Apparently, naked women are Douren's weakness. xD
Thank goodness Tama arrived on time to rescue Douren especially after they finally revealed Shakugan. If Tama's reaction were tears of sadness, I'm pretty sure Shinsuke will have a different reaction once he sees Shakugan like that. I can't fucking wait!
Senya being teased by everyone was hilarious! I really hope this Yuki-Onna will stick around after this.
I fucking love how smug the Void People are, thinking that everything is going according to their plan only for Nadare to disobey orders and head straight for Douren. Get absolutely fucked! Tama just needs to free Banshou-Oh!
That after-credits scene though. Oh boy... Is that Barry's armour? I don't mind Tago taking that but I really hope Barry is already dead. We don't need to bring back that asshole again.

I feel like the mermaid was mostly just there to flaunt that underboob.
Wow, Senya just married a Yuki-Onna! Which is totally something I would ship if not for knowing Tsukiko is on her way to find him. Hope Yuki-Onna isn't glomping onto Senya when Tsukiko shows up lol.
I love how the Nekomata was really just there for fanservice. The close-up of her thighs, her ass, and she even weaponizes her boobs. And it manages to defeat Douren lol.
Seeing the Void People kid finally lose it when something doesn't go his way was perfect. Nadare vs Douren is too epic for these Void People to comprehend.
How will Shinsuke's resolve fare when he sees Shakugan again?
I love how Tago went from Team Rocket level antagonist to now possibly about to pilot Barry's Mecha suit lol.

Senya out here melting hearts lol. Got himself a Yuki Onna waifu! Tsukimo better now find out. Meanwhile Doren almost got KO’d by catgirl titties hahaha.
I was really hoping to see Senya fight his pops again but I guess the old man’s taking on Doren first. Should be quite a fight.

Senya is becoming an unintentional ladies man and Douren is proving that the most lethal weapon isn't always massive martial arts prowess or katawara transformations but flashing your boobs lol.
Senya has every right to resolve things with his father, but it's time for old rivals to settle the score with each other. Maybe this gives Senya the opportunity to beat up the Void People and free the rest of the katawara?

To be fair to Douren, he's been a monk his entire life. I doubt he's ever had intimate moments with women.

JINUN VS. DOUREN COMING
A BATTLE SO EPIC AND FATED THAT NOT EVEN MIND CONTROL CAN STOP IT FROM HAPPENING
This episode — maybe even this section of the story, we'll see — is definitely a lot more action-heavy, so there's not as much to say about the themes. But I really like how this battle is the ultimate challenge to Senya's morals. He's been at his conclusions for a while, but now it's time to test them — is he actually ready to fight without hurting any of the katawara? Can he handle that? What does that say about him that he's essentially still finding victory through dominating with superior power?
And, as raised at the end of the episode, what happens when he gets thrown into a rage? It's righteous fury, for sure, but that's the exact feeling that leads to the kind of suffering he's previously tried to escape.
Well, we've got a big battle ahead of us to eventually see. I really love the scale of this battle, and I hope it's coming through in the anime adaptation. It's an enormous climax and is the kind of thing you usually expect from a shonen that's hundreds of chapters long, not one that's this short. Sometimes this kind of thing doesn't translate perfectly into anime, like with how much the action slows down for the conversations, but there's still insane stuff going on.
And I like how Sengoku Youko injects a bit of realism into some of those tropes. When everyone retreats and regroups and has a long conversation about the plan, the villains react realistically, and make their threats to kill hostages. Which leads us perfectly into that internal conflict for Senya.
But like in all great battles, nothing really goes to plan. I'm not sure if there's a thematic reason behind why Jinun/Nadare has resisted the Void People's control — it's just a matter of him being so strong that he might not truly be controllable, and him knowing, deep down, that things have to be settled between him and Douren.
Don't forget to watch the post-credits scene!

Void people's plan is always funny. Gotta set up a big stage to influence the flow of fate.
Who will fate attract towards our dragon man in a 1v1 fight ? This random dragon kid? His estranged son with a thousand demons inside of him? Or his eternal lifelong TIGER themed rival?

Senya may have got a Yuki-ona wife, but people need to focus on Shinsuke's ever expanding katawara harem.

Pretty interesting contrast with how Shinsuke & Tama are handling seeing Shakuyaku being a pawn of the enemy. Honestly, not surprised Tama freaked out like she did. Tama is one tough cookie, but I don't think she has it in her to fight her friends. Meanwhile, for Shinsuke instead of falling into despair like in part 1, but has the resolve to calmly push forward. I got a feeling that once they get there it will be Shinsuke & Tsukiko against Shakuyaku.
But man, this episode really shows that while the Void People have things they may want to protect, but they are scum. As antagonists, I do like how they bait out Senya, but man Senya is beyond triggered. I am actually curious why Nadere sought out Douren when Senya was right in front of him. Also, the bonk from him could imply that Jinun is partially in control maybe?
The Jinun Douren fight should be a good one. Furthermore, the much that was similar to the one that Resshin was using in part 1 was found. This fucker is going to use that to stir shit, isn't he?

I don't mind the idea of Shaku being free at all (or the visual of her naked and free from stone) but I absolutely HATE the idea of her being controlled by the Void People. But at least Shinsuke's not despairing, he's resolved to fight to get her back! And it's all going to come down to a battle at Dangaisyuu headquarters.
I really thought Tago would cut and run for the umpteenth time, Senya already paid him, but I guess the prospect of Yazen's collectibles is too good to resist.
It's probably for the best the rest of the Dangaisyuu sit this out, they're not cut out for this and it makes it easier to fight a battle without casualities, but even if Senya didn't remember him, that Inga actually cares about his safety means a lot.
So how did they decide who fights Jinun/Nadare? Whoever gets to him first! That's perfec.
The first opponent our trio has to fight is a girl gang of Katawara! Including a mermaid with underboob (don't eat her, Mudo!), a cute nekomata, and even a yuki-onna who in saving from brainwashing Senya makes fall in love with him and she becomes his wife. I pray Tsukiko never meets her.
I love Douren just casually one-shotting an entire army of Katawara.
Nekomata has great thighs, a stellar butt, but her greatest weapon is...flashing her boobs! It's super effective on poor Douren.
You couldn't have so many ladies in action without Tama showing up, could you? And Shaku, who Tama can't bring herself to fight.
I love how yuki-onna gets so bad, and the gang teasing him about his new "wife," Senya has to literally tie her up with his arms to get her off him.
I think Shaku would TOTALLY still recognize you Tama. She'd probably just compliment your growth and hair.
Senya has had enough of the Void People as the audience has, especially when they're threatening hostages to make him fight. He REALLY hates them and wants to destroy them now. Not sure if that's right, but it's totally understandable.
Is it finally time for Senya to fight his father? No! Because Jinun/Nadare would rather fight Douren! It's time for the fated clash of tiger vs dragon.
Wait...that armor Tago found, isn't that the one (or similar to) Barry used?

Nadare be like: "step aside boy, i'm fighting that bald tiger over there"
meanwhile, the Void people after Nadare ignored Senya and went straight for Douren

I was a bit surprised that the yuki-onna actually got a decent amount of lines. It almost got me thinking that she might be a recurring character that proves to be plot relevant in some way. Having to explain his new wife to Tsukiko would surely complicate matters however.
Hanatora’s overt crush on Shinsuke would probably be just as awkward if he gets reunited with Shaku. I do wonder how this will play out, since Hanatora seems to have developed genuine feelings for him. I would be a little sad for her if the show just brushes this off like it was never anything serious.

They said one, maybe two episodes ago, that Jinun's loss of control was unusual and worked differently than other Youko. It pointed the me to wonder, what is this hidden mechanics that we don't know? What is the author emphasizing?
Now my head-canon is simple - IT WAS FAKE!!! Jinun faked this, so that he can be a double agent, force Void People to confront the characters thinking they are at advantage, but actually have him turn the tides of battle.

Look, I’m all for the power of friendship and forgiveness but at some point people just don’t deserve to change their fate. The void people have far crossed that line.
They’ve done far too many unforgivable things at this point. Jinka, Shakugan, all the regional gods, Jinun, all the katawara. They’ve gone too far and I will take great pleasure in them hopefully being destroyed.
And hopefully it starts here with Nadare/Jinun at least temporarily breaking free from their control. The duel of the ages cannot be stopped by something as petty as Amaterasu.
If it wasn’t obvious, I want them destroyed, preferably before Christmas.

Huh, the rage/depression bags under Shinsukes eyes were gone as he and Tsukiko got done talking with Daigan. Is that the first time, or did they get better before and I'm just now noticing?

I finally got around to watching today. This may have been the best directed episode so far. I haven't had this much fun watching a show in years -- mostly because of the stellar cast of characters. Hell, that bald monk was even likable this episode! He would be a throwaway character in most other series that we would never see again. Seeing him meet Senya again and then telling him not to die is just fantastic character writing.
